I like the use of the compacting drawer to split the melons. My equivalent system used a Mekanism sawmill. Another variation: if you don't have the materials for the PRC and the gas-burning generator, you can pipe the biomass directly into a bio-fuel generator for early game power that's easy to convert to the gas-burning system for mid-game.
@@AlfredGGMC It's not really worth it for the long haul, but it produces up to 140 RF/t -- more than the heat gen or wind generator(unless your base is really high up). The gas-burning gen gives significantly more power both per fuel and per tick, so it's definitely the way to go as soon as you have the materials.
Thanks for the tutorial! I replicated the setup. The issue with the universal pipez, is that they can either output or input, not both. So, the side that's outputting items, can't input energy, and so on. You only needed an extra universal pipe on each size of the machines that are sending stuff out. The fluid pipe between the sink and the Separator isn't needed, but for it to work, I placed it one block higher and added another pipe segment. Apparently, you can't have multiple sides pulling in the same block, only one of them will work. Using more sides of the sink is useful if it can't keep up tho.

This is almost always the best power option in packs even when they nerf it. I setup 6 gas burners for a single setup in a 2x4x3 area and it often is enough to get me to the end game and very often I just duplicate it to get the power for the end game. The only reason I make the fusion or fission reactors is for the byproducts needed for crafting.
I create enough ethylene to power 90 gaz generator, i have tons of energy never build a nuclear reactor (but your right i need nuclear waste for the new stuff)

I spoke to soon the Electrolytic Separator quit producing Hydrogen after re routing power from the Coal Generator to the Gas-Burning Separator. Returned power back to Coal Generator and kaput. Never changed the settings. This is some finicky ass machinery.
Do you mean that you removed the Coal Gen and now the machines aren't getting power? Things to check: Make sure that the pipe connected to the Gas Burning Gen is set to extract (shift right click) and is also upgraded to be able to give out enough power (pipe upgrades). Then make sure that all machines are connected via pipes to the pipe that is getting power from the GBG. Also, if you're using speed upgrades in the Separator, you might want to connect more pipes to it for power. You can bypass that with a point if you're using Flux Networks.
No, I put the coal generator back and the whole system has power. The PRC isn't getting hydrogen. I didn't touch any settings, checked all my pipes twice. Man, I worked 20y in surgery and I have literally done brain surgery so I'm totally dumb fuckled why I can't get this fixed. Also, where can I give you some support outside of Twitch?
Make sure that you have the Electrolytic Separator set to "Output 1" on the face that the pipe is going out of, and then make sure the pipe is set to extract. Also make sure that the Sep is making hydrogen just in case. When I did this setup, I was having a lot of problems with the corner pipes only extracting from one of the two machines it was attached to, so I just put drawers with void upgrades all around, and it solved all the issues I was having. I can run the digital miner with full speed upgrades, and I still have plenty of power. I set up 15 of the thermal hydroponic machines growing melons, and I have plenty of melons left over
The hydrogen REFUSES to pull from the electrolytic seperator and go into the pressurized reaction chamber. I've tried it over and over. Idk what I am doing wrong *EDIT* It was just a glitch on my server. When I logged back on this morning it was functioning just fine! Appreciate it Alfred!
I tried making a compact setup with Meka pipes or pipez , gave up and learned how to use xnet, much easier to compact that down and expand in the future, much recommended

The only thing I suggest in these type of videos is to use the JDI Bookmarks to list items needed and to go over them in the beginning so everyone doesn't have to count number of pots and pipes and such needed, would make it easier to build alone with
Yo thank you so much!!! I still need to build the induction setup in my playthrough world. I felt like I should have shown the recipes, but the # of pots/cables is all going to be dependent on how each person sets up their stuff. For me, I only used 5 for the basic setup, but you'll need a lot more if you aren't using upgraded farmland. I do like the style of "This is the best build, this is what you'll need" and will definitely be using this tip for the future!
@@AlfredGGMC also discovered issues with using mekanism cables with this setup. They reduce the amount of power. They reduce the shorter the cable. My gas burner at closest to the induction cell would make 6k per tick and in order to get 39k the gas burner needed to be almost a chunk away.
@@AlfredGGMC i figured out why it wasnt working properly, idk why but my sink fluid pipe didnt connect directly into the electro thingy, so i had to manually config the fluid to the top of the electro thingy and it started working

I do this method on almost every mod pack it has mechanism it’s so good it’s Broken ❤ also, I grow my melons in Cloches immersive engineering, their outfit is a lot higher.

Can you do a comprehensive tutorial for sorting items with AE2 or RS? It's so hard to find decent content relating to this. The wikis are good, but I'm a total noob and can't figure it out. You and Chosen are my only hope. I don't mean how to set it up, more like how to sort items in and out, the best ways to keep the system clean. Maybe break it up into multiple parts, would be super helpful because ATM 8 after like 6 years of not playing modded has blown my mind.
Flux networks is honestly the best way to move power around, very underrated mod (as popular as it is i still dont think ppl really give it the credit it deserves)
I’m having issues. Built a very similar setup but when I try to use the pipez energy pipe to distribute power, I’m not getting hardly any output. Have tried using most of the upgrades for the pipes and still nothing helps. The default mekanism pipes work better over farther distances and are more consistent, but the pipez energy pipe are very very quick up close, and horrible from a distance and seem to stop working right. Is this normal
This kind of sounds like a bug, and I was experiencing something similar. Did you try an advanced pipe upgrade or better? When I set this up in creative, I ended up using points, but that could just be a bug.
It's a shame I bothered farming mats to make a max size Extreme Reactor when that produces way more. I even tried Powah and the costs were substantially more in both cases than a melon farm would have been. Bow to your Mekanism overlords!
@@AlfredGGMC Would it not cost less total resources to scale up the 'melon reactor' to match or beat even a Extreme Reactor turbine or even multiple Powah generators?
The way I have it set right now and will be added in a future update, is that a 5x5 reactor can output around 25k RF/t. A 9x9 can hit over 300k, which imo is cheaper and easier to get.
idk what's wrong with my melon power, but i'm burning 0.05 Ethylene per tick, it's totaly full and I have a whole ore factory from the book connected to it, this mod is so complicated and my machine keep telling me they're out of power every 0.1 sec

I want to do a "low tech" play through with a few friends of mine and I heard that there was a way to basically automate almost everything using Ars Nouveau. Hey! Dont know if youll see this, but im playing atm 8 version 1.1 i think but for some reason the burn rate of my gas burning gen. Is only 0.03 with full ethylene and im only getting 128 FE/t using this set up. Do u know what can i do to fix it? :( Also btw its connected to a quarry and my RS and none of those are barely getting energy
For some comparison, the first setup (before speed upgrades) is comparable to a Powah Niotic level Magmatar. With speed upgrades it exceeds a single Nitro Magmatar. I would stop at that setup and switch to Nitro Magmatars at that point, fed from an Ender tank connected to a hose pulley with a liquid pipe and netherite speed upgrade. These scale at roughly the same footprint as the upgrades shown here (ignoring the melon farm that was conveniently ignored here for 2nd and 3rd upgrades in the video).
Nitro anything requires killing the wither, which for a lot of players, that means that they will need better armor and weapons. It would take a very short amount of time to reach making about 50k RF/t with the melon setups, because even at base, getting the materials for more melons (getting more botany pots) and machine upgrades is almost trivial. Also, automating the Energizing orb is annoying to most.
I have immense problems with too much ethylene that I can't really find a workaround. i have the same setup as the first one you showed but with 3 gas generators and my ethylene is still overflowing. what am I doing wrong?
It's super nerfed for ATM9. A basic setup using 2 GBG's should produce ~20k RF/t last I checked. That is if you fill both of the GBGs and have a need to pull from it. I suggest on using the BioGens by themselves, each produces 500RF/t and outputs 1k RF. 20 is easier to manage than the GBGs
what of im playing a different version with almost all the mods but the melon one how should i get melons? or another crop the best thing i can think of is Farmers from Easy Villagers but if theres smth better in All the forge 10 that you can tell me please because i don't see much .
It's just an energy pipe that runs straight down then connects to each of the bottoms of the machines. It just has to touch each machine that needs power.
@@AlfredGGMC Probably should have updated my comment, so I got around this by just having 1 universal pipe, then the sink on top, it still passed water in front without extra pipes
Can someone please help me. I set it up exactly just as he said but for some reason the oxygen is going from the electrolytic separator to the pressurized reaction chamber. So the electrolytic separator doesn't have any oxygen. Thanks
Any chance we could get a little guide on Mekanism reactors and fission reactor ive tried looking them up and ive just had a hard time finding something thats more current
your setup doesnt work, pressuized chamber is not pulling water from the sink, tried to redo it over and over, doesnt get it to work with your setup, replacing the universal pipes fixed the problem.
Universal Pipez had a bug the update after I made this video where they don't pull from more than one machine in the same block space. Because of this, this setup became bugged :( I just move the sink forward a block and it fixes it.
Gotta go through the checklist! Is it getting Ethylene? If so, and it shows that it has power inside, you gotta make sure it is pulling power from the front face. It will only output power in one direction, that front face. Make sure if you are using a pipez pipe that you set it to extract. If it isn't getting Ethylene, you need to check the PRC. Is it getting Hydrogen, Water, and Bio Fuel? If so, make sure that it is properly outputting gas in the right direction of the GBG, and that auto-eject is turned on at the top of the Gas Side Config screen. If it isn't getting Hyrdogen, check your Separator. Make sure it is getting Water, and make sure that Oxygen is set to "dump excess." If it's producing it, then make sure it is outputting to the right face. Lastly, if your Crusher isn't producing Bio Fuel, check to see if it's getting resources and outputting properly. Hope this helps!
The PRC needs to input power, water, biofuel, and a gas. This is all done by the universal cables you see coming from the crusher (biofuel), the separator (gas), water (from the sink), and power from the points. It needs to output 1 item (the substrates from the middle via item pipes) and 1 gas (ethylene, which is pumped out of the back via gas pipes) to the Gas Burning Gens. Hope this helps!
for those of you playing ATM 9 and trying to use this, either downgrade to the version mekanism was added or find a new mod pack. They don’t want you to be able to play Minecraft how you want so they’ve disabled ethylene
You can absolutely play how you want to! You are allowed to edit the configs to be whatever you want, we'd just also like to have some sort of balance. I am currently going through and taking a look at buffing several power sources as it is.
@@AlfredGGMC I love ATM I’m general but this really feels like a “play a way we want you to play move”. Who cares if the power generation is OP in your own world, if that’s what you wanna use then use it. It affects no one in my opinion and should be at the players choice if they wanna be OP or not. That’s just my opinion. Me personally I get everything that I know how to do set up and then move into learning the new mods so I can incorporate them better into my next world it’s not like I’m just completely ignoring the other mods, I just like being able to comfortably get into them of that makes sense. With that said y’all have done a great job with the mod pack, just please don’t try to make people play a different way than they don’t want to play. also please tell me how to change the server configuration for it so I can atleast have my power running while I get into Greg tech ❤️
Believe it or not, we have a ton of balance changes already in the pack. This is mostly because a lot of people would get bored very quickly in the pack because of how overpowered a lot of the different mods are. The move to nerf Ethylene was because it overshadows every other power gen in the pack. Why mess with Powah/Thermal/any other power gen when you can just use melons? That was the intention behind it. I believe this is changed in one of our scripts in the KubeJS folder. I'll have to check which one. Thank you for understanding!
I have like 175 fe output when connected to an energy cube. i don't know if i'm doing something wrong i can't find anybody talking about this. Is this been nerfed even more?
GBGs will only output what is being pulled or needed from it. This means that if the cable or pipe you connect to it isn't upgraded and can't pull more than X amount of FE, it will only pull that. At the same time, if you aren't using that much FE, it will also not burn as much as it needs. Mine actually sits at 0 and then will randomly tick up when it needs it, then back down to 0.
@@AlfredGGMC I realized that the entire system is using more than 95% of the energy it produce, because after i took the pipe that connect the gas generator to the system and leave only the one connected to the energy cube the output jumped from 175 to 8K+.
If you hit del on the keyboard, it sends it to the trashcan (if you show the trashcan with t). Shift-del deletes everything of that type (all cobblestone for example)
You can add a Rotary Condensentrator and PRC to make HDPE pellets from the substrate. They really nerfed it’s production. In ATM7 it’s 72k per generator. I’m not a fan of “balancing” to forgive you to use inferior mods. Bigger reactors is nothing but a waste of time and resources. Powah is nice and compact but it’s a time suck setting it up unless you’re late game and have everything you need. Even then it’s time consuming.
As someone who speedruns, I always want to use the best way of doing whatever. As one of the devs in the pack, I personally don't want there to be "only one way" to do something because it makes the other mods inferior. I'm going to be buffing the production of Bigger Reactors in a future quest update to put them up to par with Mek/Powah. Powah has also recently been balanced. 72k per generator is honestly just broken with how easy it is to make the setup, so I am glad the nerf came through.
@@AlfredGGMC bringing other mods up is great. But I’m not a fan of bringing down the best one because the other mods suck. W/ how long it takes to generate resources w/ these packs anything to speed up production is great. Very few people are speed running them.
I wouldn't say the other mods suck. I would definitely say the GBG/Ethylene setup is just OP and needs to be nerfed by the mod itself. There is definitely something to say for preference, however. Breaking ores down to dust via Create vs breaking them down via Mek are completely different. In a pack like this, everyone should be able to do whatever they feel like and not feel bad for not using a different mod. Sometimes, you can't get around that, so I understand.
@@AlfredGGMC I look at these packs for what they are, kitchen sinks. I know it’s a balancing game because the end goal is to make the star. But many play them simply because they have all the mods and they work w/out them having to do anything. In that respect I don’t think they should be nerfed but I understand why they are. Mek ethylene has always been OP. But it also relives you of the burden of power production why you are playing w/ all the other mods. And if you’re trying to make the star it gets you to fission/fusion a lot faster. I’m probably jaded but I’m at 3400 days in game. I’ve tried most of the mods and found the ones I like. Anything tedious, Botania, I simply don’t play w/ unless I have to. Same goes for mods that just don’t produce enough for their cost.
Can I please ask why didn't you connect the gas burning generator to the crushing factory? That would be an infinite energy setup (as long as you keep your melon farm working).

Any idea why my machines leading to the reaction chamber are saying output is full? I can't figure it out :( it seems like it's not getting hydrogen but I have no idea
Was this nerfed? it seems that in the latest version of ATM8 my compacting drawer cannot turn melons to melon slices. In fact, there is no recipe to convert normal melons to melon slices and only mini-melons to melon slices.
You'll need a melon slice first, then put the melon slice in the bottom right part of the compacting drawer. Mini melons convert to melon slices in your inventory, or you can use a sawmill or a cutting board to break melons down into slices.
Idk what the problem is but i followed this setup almost identically, only thing i did differently was a second sink for the prc but this is only generating 201 rf/tick after the cost to the run the machines. Edit: It was my pipes, even with upgrades, the pipez mod didn't want to work with this setup
Even with nothing but energy upgrades, it's costing me 6 wind generators just to break even on power without running anything else. It can't even sustain the 14 fe needed for my RS system. Idk what happened to this setup but I can't get it functioning
Why is my gas burning generator producing less than the max output, I have flux plug with bypass limit on and set up to an induction matrix the other end.
I believe it will always produce less than the output because it has power storage. Otherwise you would never tap into the storage unless it was turned off!
Does this still work for ATM 9? I am trying to build it again but the issue is that my PRC won't accept biofuel at all. I can't even manually put it in.
hey had a problem where the gas pwered generator isnt receiveing anything. everything else is working but the gas powered generator, after awhile it all just stops
If the PRC is generating Ethylene, then make sure it is outputting properly to the GBG. Also, it's very easy to rotate the GBG on accident with a wrench, so it's best to break it and place it back down to reset the sides.
has this been patched? i cant get power to anything from the coal generator, and the water wont go into the pressurized reaction chamber? any help would be nice
You'll need to move the sink forward or run a different pipe from it. So I followed every step but when it came to pumping water into my pressurized reaction chamber my universal pipes wont pump the water from the sink into the PRC
All of the other machines can accept a pipe on any face, but the GBG will only push power from the front. You can see the pipe sticking out of the front of the GBG, and it just goes down and connects to the bottom of every other machine! Hope this helps.

My gas burning generator is not producing anything. Why is that? It’s not showing that there’s any kFE but in all of the other machines are working correctly and getting power. I built everything correctly or at least I thought I did. Does anyone know why this might not be getting anything?
It only pulls out power when it needs it. It generates so much so quickly that it's probably instantly filling those machines and telling you it is isn't producing anything. Try pumping into some kind of power storage!

When I did this setup, I was having a lot of problems with the corner pipes only extracting from one of the two machines it was attached to, so I just put drawers with void upgrades all around, and it solved all the issues I was having. I can run the digital miner with full speed upgrades, and I still have plenty of power. I set up 15 of the thermal hydroponic machines growing melons, and I have plenty of melons left over
The hydrogen REFUSES to pull from the electrolytic seperator and go into the pressurized reaction chamber. I've tried it over and over. Idk what I am doing wrong

had the same issue, just use seperate gas pipes instead of universal
yeah the fix is to just restart Minecraft. That worked for me
I tried making a compact setup with Meka pipes or pipez , gave up and learned how to use xnet, much easier to compact that down and expand in the future, much recommended

The only thing I suggest in these type of videos is to use the JDI Bookmarks to list items needed and to go over them in the beginning so everyone doesn't have to count number of pots and pipes and such needed, would make it easier to build alone with

I felt like I should have shown the recipes, but the # of pots/cables is all going to be dependent on how each person sets up their stuff. For me, I only used 5 for the basic setup, but you'll need a lot more if you aren't using upgraded farmland. I do like the style of "This is the best build, this is what you'll need" and will definitely be using this tip for the future!
@@AlfredGGMC also discovered issues with using mekanism cables with this setup. They reduce the amount of power. They reduce the shorter the cable. My gas burner at closest to the induction cell would make 6k per tick and in order to get 39k the gas burner needed to be almost a chunk away.

@@AlfredGGMC i figured out why it wasnt working properly, idk why but my sink fluid pipe didnt connect directly into the electro thingy, so i had to manually config the fluid to the top of the electro thingy and it started working
amazing well done i was watching your play threw and seen you setup basics of this wanted to do it too and know how work and here we are in this video you did that and more your amazing fella thank you for work you put in to do this video you made my life so much easier i was fiddling around heat generation and upgrading that and still didn't have enough power to run x2 ore setup quest book gave with diamond furnace but this setup is going to do that and much more thank you!

I do this method on almost every mod pack it has mechanism it’s so good it’s Broken ❤ also, I grow my melons in Cloches immersive engineering, their outfit is a lot higher.
Don’t forget to void upgrade the seeds and substrate so this process doesn’t get interrupted.

Can you do a comprehensive tutorial for sorting items with AE2 or RS? It's so hard to find decent content relating to this. The wikis are good, but I'm a total noob and can't figure it out. You and Chosen are my only hope. I don't mean how to set it up, more like how to sort items in and out, the best ways to keep the system clean. Maybe break it up into multiple parts, would be super helpful because ATM 8 after like 6 years of not playing modded has blown my mind.

with AE2 tunnels the extraction of power would be unlimited, the only transfer limitation they have is how much you can push into it

Flux networks is honestly the best way to move power around, very underrated mod (as popular as it is i still dont think ppl really give it the credit it deserves)

I've noticed that sometimes flux networks glitch out completely.
I’m having issues. Built a very similar setup but when I try to use the pipez energy pipe to distribute power, I’m not getting hardly any output. Have tried using most of the upgrades for the pipes and still nothing helps. The default mekanism pipes work better over farther distances and are more consistent, but the pipez energy pipe are very very quick up close, and horrible from a distance and seem to stop working right. Is this normal
This kind of sounds like a bug, and I was experiencing something similar. Did you try an advanced pipe upgrade or better? When I set this up in creative, I ended up using points, but that could just be a bug.

It's a shame I bothered farming mats to make a max size Extreme Reactor when that produces way more. I even tried Powah and the costs were substantially more in both cases than a melon farm would have been. Bow to your Mekanism overlords!
I'm currently balancing it out, so that reactor should make you a ton more soon enough!
@@AlfredGGMC Would it not cost less total resources to scale up the 'melon reactor' to match or beat even a Extreme Reactor turbine or even multiple Powah generators?
The way I have it set right now and will be added in a future update, is that a 5x5 reactor can output around 25k RF/t. A 9x9 can hit over 300k, which imo is cheaper and easier to get.

idk what's wrong with my melon power, but i'm burning 0.05 Ethylene per tick, it's totaly full and I have a whole ore factory from the book connected to it, this mod is so complicated and my machine keep telling me they're out of power every 0.1 sec

Hey! Dont know if youll see this, but im playing atm 8 version 1.1 i think but for some reason the burn rate of my gas burning gen. Is only 0.03 with full ethylene and im only getting 128 FE/t using this set up. Do u know what can i do to fix it? :(

For some comparison, the first setup (before speed upgrades) is comparable to a Powah Niotic level Magmatar. With speed upgrades it exceeds a single Nitro Magmatar.
I would stop at that setup and switch to Nitro Magmatars at that point, fed from an Ender tank connected to a hose pulley with a liquid pipe and netherite speed upgrade. These scale at roughly the same footprint as the upgrades shown here (ignoring the melon farm that was conveniently ignored here for 2nd and 3rd upgrades in the video).
Nitro anything requires killing the wither, which for a lot of players, that means that they will need better armor and weapons. It would take a very short amount of time to reach making about 50k RF/t with the melon setups, because even at base, getting the materials for more melons (getting more botany pots) and machine upgrades is almost trivial. Also, automating the Energizing orb is annoying to most.
A little tip is the actual easiest way to get melon slices out of whole melons is to just place the melon and break it.

I have immense problems with too much ethylene that I can't really find a workaround. i have the same setup as the first one you showed but with 3 gas generators and my ethylene is still overflowing. what am I doing wrong?
Built it, but it only produces between 40-400 FE/t is that a bug? built on ATM9
It's super nerfed for ATM9. A basic setup using 2 GBG's should produce ~20k RF/t last I checked. That is if you fill both of the GBGs and have a need to pull from it.
I suggest on using the BioGens by themselves, each produces 500RF/t and outputs 1k RF. 20 is easier to manage than the GBGs

It's just an energy pipe that runs straight down then connects to each of the bottoms of the machines. It just has to touch each machine that needs power.
My PRC keeps getting full of hydrogen and it completely stops my production. Fix?

There is currently a bug with Pipez where they won't output multiple things from the same block. You'll need to use another pipe on a different face.
@@AlfredGGMC Probably should have updated my comment, so I got around this by just having 1 universal pipe, then the sink on top, it still passed water in front without extra pipes
I built the Ultimate Factory version and for some reason none of my PRCs are getting hydrogen

your setup doesnt work, pressuized chamber is not pulling water from the sink, tried to redo it over and over, doesnt get it to work with your setup, replacing the universal pipes fixed the problem.
Universal Pipez had a bug the update after I made this video where they don't pull from more than one machine in the same block space. Because of this, this setup became bugged :( I just move the sink forward a block and it fixes it.

I have a problem. The GBG is not producing power to power the rest of the machine. Basically its not producing power at all.
Gotta go through the checklist! Is it getting Ethylene? If so, and it shows that it has power inside, you gotta make sure it is pulling power from the front face. It will only output power in one direction, that front face. Make sure if you are using a pipez pipe that you set it to extract.
If it isn't getting Ethylene, you need to check the PRC. Is it getting Hydrogen, Water, and Bio Fuel? If so, make sure that it is properly outputting gas in the right direction of the GBG, and that auto-eject is turned on at the top of the Gas Side Config screen.
If it isn't getting Hyrdogen, check your Separator. Make sure it is getting Water, and make sure that Oxygen is set to "dump excess." If it's producing it, then make sure it is outputting to the right face.
Lastly, if your Crusher isn't producing Bio Fuel, check to see if it's getting resources and outputting properly. Hope this helps!

For the best setup for the melon farm. What is the inputs and output for the prc? I’m confused. A little.
The PRC needs to input power, water, biofuel, and a gas. This is all done by the universal cables you see coming from the crusher (biofuel), the separator (gas), water (from the sink), and power from the points.
It needs to output 1 item (the substrates from the middle via item pipes) and 1 gas (ethylene, which is pumped out of the back via gas pipes) to the Gas Burning Gens. Hope this helps!

Yes. It is easier to increase the size of your reactor, however. In a future update, the reactors will also produce more power.
for those of you playing ATM 9 and trying to use this, either downgrade to the version mekanism was added or find a new mod pack. They don’t want you to be able to play Minecraft how you want so they’ve disabled ethylene
You can absolutely play how you want to! You are allowed to edit the configs to be whatever you want, we'd just also like to have some sort of balance. I am currently going through and taking a look at buffing several power sources as it is.

@@AlfredGGMC I love ATM I’m general but this really feels like a “play a way we want you to play move”. Who cares if the power generation is OP in your own world, if that’s what you wanna use then use it. It affects no one in my opinion and should be at the players choice if they wanna be OP or not. That’s just my opinion.
Me personally I get everything that I know how to do set up and then move into learning the new mods so I can incorporate them better into my next world it’s not like I’m just completely ignoring the other mods, I just like being able to comfortably get into them of that makes sense.
With that said y’all have done a great job with the mod pack, just please don’t try to make people play a different way than they don’t want to play.
also please tell me how to change the server configuration for it so I can atleast have my power running while I get into Greg tech ❤️
Powah! There is also just making a redstone farm and shoving it into an energy cube for a solid 4k RF/redstone.
Believe it or not, we have a ton of balance changes already in the pack. This is mostly because a lot of people would get bored very quickly in the pack because of how overpowered a lot of the different mods are. The move to nerf Ethylene was because it overshadows every other power gen in the pack. Why mess with Powah/Thermal/any other power gen when you can just use melons? That was the intention behind it.
I believe this is changed in one of our scripts in the KubeJS folder. I'll have to check which one. Thank you for understanding!
I have like 175 fe output when connected to an energy cube. i don't know if i'm doing something wrong i can't find anybody talking about this. Is this been nerfed even more?
GBGs will only output what is being pulled or needed from it. This means that if the cable or pipe you connect to it isn't upgraded and can't pull more than X amount of FE, it will only pull that. At the same time, if you aren't using that much FE, it will also not burn as much as it needs. Mine actually sits at 0 and then will randomly tick up when it needs it, then back down to 0.
@@AlfredGGMC I realized that the entire system is using more than 95% of the energy it produce, because after i took the pipe that connect the gas generator to the system and leave only the one connected to the energy cube the output jumped from 175 to 8K+.
It sounds like you aren't producing enough Ethylene then. Double check to see if you are breaking down the slices and if you are producing enough!
Very random question but in your all the mods 8 series how to you auto send things to the trash like u just click it and it’s sends it to the trash
If you hit del on the keyboard, it sends it to the trashcan (if you show the trashcan with t). Shift-del deletes everything of that type (all cobblestone for example)
You can add a Rotary Condensentrator and PRC to make HDPE pellets from the substrate.
They really nerfed it’s production. In ATM7 it’s 72k per generator. I’m not a fan of “balancing” to forgive you to use inferior mods. Bigger reactors is nothing but a waste of time and resources. Powah is nice and compact but it’s a time suck setting it up unless you’re late game and have everything you need. Even then it’s time consuming.
As someone who speedruns, I always want to use the best way of doing whatever. As one of the devs in the pack, I personally don't want there to be "only one way" to do something because it makes the other mods inferior. I'm going to be buffing the production of Bigger Reactors in a future quest update to put them up to par with Mek/Powah. Powah has also recently been balanced. 72k per generator is honestly just broken with how easy it is to make the setup, so I am glad the nerf came through.
@@AlfredGGMC bringing other mods up is great. But I’m not a fan of bringing down the best one because the other mods suck.
W/ how long it takes to generate resources w/ these packs anything to speed up production is great. Very few people are speed running them.
I wouldn't say the other mods suck. I would definitely say the GBG/Ethylene setup is just OP and needs to be nerfed by the mod itself.
There is definitely something to say for preference, however. Breaking ores down to dust via Create vs breaking them down via Mek are completely different. In a pack like this, everyone should be able to do whatever they feel like and not feel bad for not using a different mod. Sometimes, you can't get around that, so I understand.
@@AlfredGGMC I look at these packs for what they are, kitchen sinks. I know it’s a balancing game because the end goal is to make the star. But many play them simply because they have all the mods and they work w/out them having to do anything. In that respect I don’t think they should be nerfed but I understand why they are.
Mek ethylene has always been OP. But it also relives you of the burden of power production why you are playing w/ all the other mods. And if you’re trying to make the star it gets you to fission/fusion a lot faster.
I’m probably jaded but I’m at 3400 days in game. I’ve tried most of the mods and found the ones I like. Anything tedious, Botania, I simply don’t play w/ unless I have to. Same goes for mods that just don’t produce enough for their cost.
Can I please ask why didn't you connect the gas burning generator to the crushing factory? That would be an infinite energy setup (as long as you keep your melon farm working).

Double check your Separator and make sure that Oxygen is set to dump overflow! This sounds like the most likely reason it isn't working.

Was this nerfed? it seems that in the latest version of ATM8 my compacting drawer cannot turn melons to melon slices. In fact, there is no recipe to convert normal melons to melon slices and only mini-melons to melon slices.
You'll need a melon slice first, then put the melon slice in the bottom right part of the compacting drawer. Mini melons convert to melon slices in your inventory, or you can use a sawmill or a cutting board to break melons down into slices.

Pressurized reaction chamber will not accept bio fuel. I followed all the steps but bio fuel cannot be inputed into reaction chamber, how do I fix?
Double check to make sure the Hydrogen and Water went into the right slights in the PRC.
Idk what the problem is but i followed this setup almost identically, only thing i did differently was a second sink for the prc but this is only generating 201 rf/tick after the cost to the run the machines.
Edit: It was my pipes, even with upgrades, the pipez mod didn't want to work with this setup
Even with nothing but energy upgrades, it's costing me 6 wind generators just to break even on power without running anything else. It can't even sustain the 14 fe needed for my RS system. Idk what happened to this setup but I can't get it functioning
Got it working, I had to switch the energy pipez out for some universal cables from mekanism

Why is my gas burning generator producing less than the max output, I have flux plug with bypass limit on and set up to an induction matrix the other end.
I believe it will always produce less than the output because it has power storage. Otherwise you would never tap into the storage unless it was turned off!
Does this still work for ATM 9? I am trying to build it again but the issue is that my PRC won't accept biofuel at all. I can't even manually put it in.
Works for me just started again atm9 ,didn't use universal pipez,i used pipez for gas,items,fluids,idk why with universal dont work

I pushed my ultimate crushing factory to the limit with 25 GBG's and its generating a whopping 990 kRF/t
hey had a problem where the gas pwered generator isnt receiveing anything. everything else is working but the gas powered generator, after awhile it all just stops
If the PRC is generating Ethylene, then make sure it is outputting properly to the GBG. Also, it's very easy to rotate the GBG on accident with a wrench, so it's best to break it and place it back down to reset the sides.

You'll need to move the sink forward or run a different pipe from it. Universal Pipez had a bug the update after I made this video where they don't pull from more than one machine in the same block space. As for the power issue, you'll need to make sure your pipez are set to extract from the coal gen to "kick start" the power.
So I followed every step but when it came to pumping water into my pressurized reaction chamber my universal pipes wont pump the water from the sink into the PRC
There is currently a bug where pipez can't pump out of 2 things in a single block space. I suggest moving the sink down the pipe by one to fix this!

All of the other machines can accept a pipe on any face, but the GBG will only push power from the front. You can see the pipe sticking out of the front of the GBG, and it just goes down and connects to the bottom of every other machine! Hope this helps.

I'm using Hopper Botany Pots, maybe thats the difference. Also make sure you set the pipe to pull.

My gas burning generator is not producing anything. Why is that? It’s not showing that there’s any kFE but in all of the other machines are working correctly and getting power. I built everything correctly or at least I thought I did. Does anyone know why this might not be getting anything?
It only pulls out power when it needs it. It generates so much so quickly that it's probably instantly filling those machines and telling you it is isn't producing anything. Try pumping into some kind of power storage!
