They've won several prestigious international awards for "Best Live Act" over the years (notably from Kerrang! and MTV), overshadowing other great bands. I think by watching the video you get a glimpse of why that is possible eventough, trust me, this is only the tip of the iceberg you're about to climb down. Some people even rightfully call them "Metal Theatre" because when you go to one of their show, you get a damn show. BABYMETAL is meant to be a live band.
Been a metalhead for 20 years now, I'd lost my metal mojo for the better part of a decade to be honest but then I discovered BABYMETAL and once I did, I binged it, and I am now a die hard fan. I simply can not get enough of them. They're a breath of fresh air for metal. I am glad you're starting off your journey with this song. For metalheads, this is often a proper introduction to BABYMETAL. Have fun down the fox hole ;)

Seen them live twice. Both times 60 minutes. I envy anyone who gets to watch them for 90. Both times I was pumped beyond description but also kinda sad when I knew I was listening to the last song of the evening.
I love the fact that Su takes her in-ear out every time they reach a climax, it just shows how invested she is in their performance. She loves that crowd interaction

The venue was Saitama Super Arena (SSA) in Japan with an audience of 20,000.
Kami Band (live musicians) were Takayoshi Ohmura and Leda Cygnus on guitars, BOH on bass, and Hideki Aoyama on drums.

Thanks for the react. Metal bands love Baby Metal. They have sung Pain Killer with Rob Halford of Judas Priest. They have sung Breaking the Law with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, they have performed one of their songs Gimme Chocolate with Skrillex and on the Late Show. In this video the leader singer Su was 17 and the two other girls were 15. Korn has snuck on stage to perform with them. In an interview Cory Taylor of SlipKnot was asked what he listened to at home and he said "BabyMetal". This song is their epic masterpiece. Other top songs are:
1. Legend of 1997 Head Banger - celebrates the birth year of the lead singer. Song is about a 15 year old girl going to her first head banger concert.
2. Karate the official video is a work of art.
3. Pa Pa Ya! feat. F. Hero - the girls are all grown up now and stunningly beautiful - insane performance.
4. Rondo of Nightmare with a Mischief of God intro. - The gods of metal call up the goddess of metal with an insane opening.

Yes! Babymetal is amazing.Bro they can be super poppy but they can get downright heavy as well. No two songs are the same. Akatsuki is heavy and it's a solo song by the lead vocalist, Su-metal. They have performed with Rob Halford of Judas Priest as well. It catches people off guard the first time or two, but this band is a heavy hitter. More babymetal! You can check out Syncopation live compilation video, its awesome. You'll find their live performances are better than their music videos (which are still awesome) Cheers bud!

Yeah, Death Legend 1997 is basically an instrumental but it is heavy and dark as well. Night I suggest that as well? That’s probably one of their heaviest songs that has a video. They have a song that is super techy and progy too, but no video. If you want to check that out it’s called Tale of the Destinies

Good reaction, I'm glad you enjoyed it even if this song won't necessarily go on your play list. They do all sorts though, most genres of metal and they can/will mix in other musical styles and genres (often when you least expect it). If you listen to more you won't find two songs that sound the same - some may appeal more to you than this, there is a chance some just won't do it for you or won't suit your own tastes. That's fair enough, but either way it won't be boring (personally I don't think they have one bad song, but that is my opinion and not everybody will agree).

Welcome to the world of BABYMETAL! This might be the first time I have heard a reactor sing the "Woooohh" part at correct pitch. :-)
In my opinion this is not their best song, but it's definitely one of the best performances. BABYMeTAL and their crowds are always a treat, though. Their music is very diverse, this is actually one of their least experimental and unique songs. Most of their catalogue is more Pop influenced than this one. That's not a bad thing, though. On the contrary, the way they fuse all sorts of different genres to something fascinatingly new and unique makes for a whole new and fantastic experience. I'm a Metal guy, but they have very quickly become my most favourite band (by far), and I love even the most poppy tunes more than anything else.
And the music is not the only thing that sets them apart from other band. The dancing, the costumes, the stages, the musicians, the crowds, the smiles... it's all damn near perfect. And as you have witnessed, the live shows are awesome!

I'm catching this way late, but I loved this reaction!
This is my favorite musical performance of all time. I want to share the three things that put this on an entirely different level.
1. Their ages. At this show, SUMETAL had just turned 17 less than 3 weeks prior. YUIMETAL & MOAMETAL were just 15!
2. This was the final song in a 90+ minute show. Their energy and stamina are truly incredible!
3. The crowd engagement. From the splitting of the pit to the Acapella sing-along, the crowd was SO into this! What makes that truly amazing is that the album that this song is on wasn't even released yet. In fact, BABYMETAL had only performed this song like 3 times prior to this show. Inspite of that the crowd not only knew what to do, they knew exactly when to do it!

Man its so hard to really convey how hype it is to be in the crowd during road of resistance. Like everyone just clears out this circle, that horn blaring and everyone just waiting like the moment just before a battle. Then 1 2 3 GO! And everybody goes apeshit. The best way I can describe it is that I almost died. Most fun i've EVER had at a concert, hands down.
And to think....they do this as a show CLOSER after already going for almost 2 hours. And this was when they were 15-16 years old!
I'm still not sure what to think of Baby Metal but I do like the energy they bring live .

Su-metal, the lead singer has an amazing voice. Even if you don't understand the lyrics, you wanna sing along! This video is one of their best because it showcases the band more than others. And it's the band (while the singers are the Heart) are the Blood of the music.

The energy in the Saitama Super Arena that night was absolutly AMAZING, It hooked me hard.
Been to 21 BabyMetal shows since that night and they each are absolutly fun.
You need to go to a BabyMetal show. Seriously, just go. I’m a huge deathmetal fan, that’s most of what I go to. I’ve seen BabyMetal twice and the energy is just insane. No one else gets close. It’s like a blowtorch to the face. And their pits get wild. So much fun.
This is so true. Saw them last year for the first time. When I saw them on the set list for the festival I knew Id watch them just to see a spectacle. I was already in the pit for marilyn manson and korn was playing after babymetal so I figured Id chill in it for a bit for babymetal. Before I knew it I was in the wildest show I've probably ever been in! We were throwing people over the crowd, dudes in pikachu costumes, flags and beers being thrown every which way... Needless to say I will jump on an opportunity to see them again hahaha
My first ever concert was babymetal last year, and they are even better live, the amount of energy is insane, and since its metal meets j-pop you get a wide variety of fans and it just made it overall an amazing experience, cant wait for them to return to the US to see them again.

The new Poppy album is literally mix of Baby metal and industrial metal, plus deathcore breakdown’s. It’s not something I would listen usually, but if you check Poppy - Concert you will understand why I like that album 🤘

I've watched so many uploaded performances of them, and so many people react to *this* song (I can't get enough), and I get the chills around the performance at 5:15 every. single. time. I can't imagine the goosebumps I'd have if I ever actually went to a Babymetal concert.
GO! When the quarantine is over and concerts are back, go see them if you get a chance. I saw them here in Texas; it was a smaller show with no pyrotechnics, but it was an amazing experience.

Thanks for choosing to react to BABYMETAL, they're amazing! As someone who is new to the group, I thought I'd give you and your followers a little background on them.
BABYMETAL is a Japanese Kawaii Metal group consisting of (for the most part) SU-METAL on lead vocals, YUIMETAL and MOAMETAL on backing vocals/dancing, or "SCREAM AND DANCE" as they like to call it. I say 'for the most part' as Yui & Moa have a few songs that they do as duets without Su and Su has a few songs she does as solos whilst Yui & Moa take a well deserved break.
They were formed in 2010 as part of the idol group Sakura Gakuin, before touring on their own in 2011 and have gone from strength to strength.
They started singing to backing tracks with actors in skeleton suits pretending to play instruments (known as BABYBONES) but soon incorporated the Kami Band into their concerts, bringing them in full time at the end of 2013. The Kami Band consists of some of Japan's premier musicians on rotation based on availability. The most popular configuration consisting of Takayoshi Ohmura and Mikio Fujioka on guitar with Leda Cygnus as stand-in, BOH on bass and Aoyama Hideki on drums. These are the people you will see most often in videos. Since the untimely passing of Mikio at the end of 2017 they have enlisted the talents of Isao Fujita on guitar. At the end of 2018 YUIMETAL left the band because of health problems and in 2019 there are 3 girls named AVENGERS that will take her place in a rotating manner.

@@OhrionReacts If you want really heavy, they have a death metal song that just the two smaller girls Yui and Moa do called Sis Anger. When its just those two girls on stage while the leader singer Su takes a break they call is Black Babymetal. They have some of the heaviest tracks for those two with the cutest voices.

Good reaction dude and a pretty good place to start your BABYMETAL journey! Even if the song itself isn't my favourite by them, that performance is crazy good. For 3 young girls to command a crowd like that is insane. That's how you put on a show. And even if you're not a fan of the music, they are ALWAYS entertaining to watch and just PURE FUN.
Like others have said, no 2 BM songs are the same so I'm sure you'll find something to your liking as well.

@@OhrionReacts - I know i was messing with you too. I appreciate that you understood that :) It takes 10-20 songs before you can really understand how unique Babymetal is. Tales of the Destinies is their most technical song. Sis Anger is their hardest song. Onedari Daisakusen is their cutest song. Akatsuki is their most beautiful song. Megitsune is the fan favorite. Gimme Chocolate is their biggest hit. iJime, Dame, Zettai is maybe their most consistently great live song.

I have some friends here in the US that are into metal big time. I tried to into them to BabyMetal and they were like: "WOW! This looks like it will kick a**!". Then the girls started to sing and then they were like: "Oh, Japanese? Well this sucks.". Urge to pimpslap increasing. Slap commence in 3...2...1...

I think why the Metal Bands don’t like BabyMetal is because they are fames at a young age. But Sumetal has been working most of her life with the rest of the girls to get to this point. You can find a video of Suzuka Nakamoto of her musical growth. She is young but no new comer.
