"Who's Rachel?!"
“Oh, shut up, Albert!!!” 😤😤😤😂😂😂😉👍
His best line
I couldn't understand the radar it was all blibs and blobs😂
During the warrer
i dont know her
My fave Uncle Albert scene is when Del says "if you mention the war once more" and Albert comes back with "i was'nt going to mention the war , during the 1939-45 conflict with Germany" and the look on Del's face is priceless
He’s like, “You cheeky sod!”
that scene is hilarious, the lead up to it i classic writing.
lmao
Del already knew that Albert was never in the war from the trial.
That's a hell of a parting you got son
To think Buster Merryfield was only in amateur stage productions, then came into this series he was SUBPERB and we always remember him fondly.
He was a bank manager previously
There will never be anything like this ever again! Pure genius!
Only Fools and Horses, Last of the Summer Wine, Citzen Smith, Black Adder even Goodnight Sweetheart
@@TheLatiosnlatias02 Open all hours, Porridge, Two Ronnie's and Steptoe & Son.
The world's gone to PC now for comedy like this
It was an unfunny racist series.
"if you say during the war once more, I'm going to pour this cup of tea over your head"
"I wasn't going to say during the war, bloody know all.....during the 1939-1945 conflict with Germany..." 😂🤣
@The Beatles Actually Sucked every ship he sailed during the war sank
I love that bit lol. Followed by Del's facial expression afterwards 😂
"VOT IS YOUR NAME!!"??" is one of the biggest laugh out loud moments ever in OFaH
It was a lovely transition from Grandad to Albert when he comes back from North London with Del and his duffle bag. 'Boomerang Trotter always comes back' always makes me tear up with happiness. Thank you for this lovely compilation of a well loved character.
Your words are awesome, I don't know what else to say but thankyou BBC for this edit. Also wishing everyone a Merry Christmas Happy Holidays whatever you want to call it. Watching OFAH this time of year with your family is a must.
LOVE PEACE and HEALTH to yall.
Yea but Albert was not a patch on Grandad
@@CricketEngland Horses for courses mate. I much preferred Unc over Grandad.
@@kenjordan4950 then your in the minority sorry
@@doommonger7784 I just believe grandad had two of the greatest lines in the whole series and was involved in some of the greatest episodes
1. “why what have you got a wendy house”
2. “They promised us home fit for hero’s, they gave us hero’s fit for homes” (the greatest line of OFAH)
and he was involved in the funniest episode of all time when knocking down the wrong chandelier.
“I feel like a turkey who just caught Bernard Mathews grinning at him” 🤣 One of the most underrated lines.
My favourite Uncle Alert moment that should have been on here was when he misses his cue 3 times to look shocked after Rodney decided to go out with a girl during his rocky relationship with Casandra, bursting out laughing when Del Boy was hitting him with the Newspaper.
Not yet, not yet lol
I read that was his fav too....the actor
One of the funniest things I've ever seen. David Jason even broke Charicter if you watch closely. Brilliant
@@Phoenix1664 he breaks, chracter during " the wendy" with grandad too
@@donnn-ow4rj was that a break character? See I thought that looked scripted
"Vot is your name" should be in the Guinness book of records for the funniest line ever
Buster knocked it out of the park. He served the same purpose as Grandad perfectly whilst still being different enough not to simply be a replacement.
Durin’ the war.
Uncle Albert was an unfunny racist. The grandfather was far better.
during the 1939-1945 conflict with Germany
@@archieoutdoors3340 They knew Albert was never in the war.
@@MarkHarrison733 I was just saying what Albert said, never said he was or wasn’t in the war. So what’s your point?
The scene where Albert is down by the docks reminiscing about his old life was very touching, I thought.
Incredible scene, yes very very touching.😢
Agreed 👍🏻
Tobacco road
Plot twist: what if it was really Busters old road and he was talking about his own childhood?
10/10
20:08 "Who's Rachel?"
"OH, SHUT UP, ALBERT!"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Uncle Albert love him, he was one of the very best.
Buster Merryfield was comedy genius. Love him.
He may have been a dozy old codger, but he sure was hilarious! 😂😂😂 If it weren’t for Buster Merryfield’s comedic chops, OFAH probably would’ve never carried on! Thank you, Buster! For being able to fill in the void for Lennard Pearce! 😊😊😊
A clever move by the late John Sullivan, bringing in a character Del and Rodney hardly knew. What helped Uncle Albert's character was his back story and his versatility.
Even though I love Uncle Albert, a part of wonders what OFAH would’ve been like if Grandad was still alive. What do you think would’ve happened? 🤔💭
@@n19ntendods the episode hole in one was meant to feature him actually. They even started filming but they couldn’t air it because he died before they finished
Merryfield was an unfunny overactor. He ruined the show.
'They can break our windows, but not our hearts' - superb!
That scene makes me well up, he was so funny but so deep. Fantastic 👏👏👏
Yes very poinght
Still not as good as grandads line in the nuclear bunker when grandad said “They promised us home fit for Hero’s, but all they gave us was hero’s fit for homes”
I love the blow up dolls when Albert talks about Africa n then the black one pops up and Del goes there you go look that's you talking about Zulu magic and all that 🤣🤣
" Cold you bits of kids don't the meaning of the word, you should have been with me on the Russian convoys, one night it was so cold the flame on my lighter froze" So funny, classic line
My family always quotes this line! Amazing how this comedy unites so many people. John Sullivan and the actors created something timeless :)
In my opinion Buster was a vast improvement over gramps. I seem to remember this was Buster’s first professional role, having been in am-dram previously. He fitted in well with the others and was wonderfully funny. RIP fella.
The grandfather was a million times better than the unfunny racist Uncle Albert.
@@MarkHarrison733eh? When was he racist?
You would be wrong in that opinion
I preferred uncle albert over grandad too. I’ll join you in the minority.
As a kid I never realised how spry Uncle Albert was. For a 70 something year old he was very fit and able.
“Alberts been on the Bob Martins” 🤣🤣🤣
Uncle Albert was a fantastic addition to this amazing classic comedy series. I must have seen every episode at least a 100 times. No other comedy series can touch it. When I’m down I watch a couple of episodes to cheer me up.
The scene when they’re all stood in the docks is absolutely beautiful. It fills me up EVERY time. And I must have watched He Aint Heavy, He’s My Uncle 100x. Utter genius.
Same..its a beautiful scene :)
“One minute I was walking along, on me way to post me entry form for the Krypton Factor”
'No wonder he full of vitality', classic lol
Albert's best lines "Well, you wouldn't use it to comb your hair, would ya? and that's a hell of a parting you've got there, son.
100%
"So I squared up to him...and he hit me" I love his mannerisms when he says that 🤣
Knock knock knocked him out
And all the time u two were eating my grapes
Buster was a real life boxer, was a schoolboy winner and boxed for the Army. Would have loved to seen him in his prime.
"Who's there?" "Knock, Knock!" Sheer genius.
"During the war" was the best line ever
Grandad was a hard act to follow but Uncle Albert was bloody hilarious!
Jim broadbent is brilliant in this as he looks at Albert which one then😁
"He might have got.... Percussion or something!" makes me laugh every time
When he mixed up the coffee and gravy at that meal lol 🤣 🤣 🤣
That head bob when he said where ya think she's been for eight years a convenient?
Will forever be the best tv show ever made
11:56 That's you that is, talking about Jamaica look. No comedy will ever beat OFAH
They've missed out my fave Uncle Albert bit where he messes up the gravy with Coffee 😂 That scene always cracked me up
This did happen to me once. Some friends and me were clearing a garden for a couple of old ladies and they offered to make us a drink.Bisto granules with milk and sugar anyone? We all discreetly poured our drinks down the sink.
@@alanbicknell7696 not only have you sunk battleship and aircraft carrier you’ve sailed on, but now you’ve knackered a gravy boat. 😂😂😂
I feel like a turkey that has just caught Bernard Matthews grinning at him 😂🤣😂🤣
His laugh. Cracks me everytime, brilliant 👏 rip uncle Albert 😎
Loved Uncle Albert
I remember watching Buster in an interview once and his real accent was posh as was grandads ! ❤🙏
All the cast are very well spoken in real life.
Vot is yor nome.
Who's there, Knock Knock.
During the war.
So simple yet so brilliant.
Buster Merryfield was a legend 🙌 👏 👌 ❤ 🙏
Where the hell is the clip where he pretends to be shocked at Rodney taking a woman out? Thats his best ever scene!
HHhhHHHHHHHHH!
EURRRRR A GIRL
Buster was a very underrated actor. Yeah the scripts were superb but he played his part to absolute perfection 👌
Hardly underrated.
Has to be for me when he’s shadow boxing in his gym gear hahaha 🤣
It's the neck movements that always get me!! 😂
Some of the greatest characters in British television history.
“Why don’t she know” 🤣🤣🤣
Best series to ever be on British TV
And Open All Hours, Ronnie Barker was Unreal.
Absolutely no doubt about it👌🏼
20:08 will always be my favourite Uncle Albert moment! 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹
Oh shut up Alber 🤣
Pure gold👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍uncle Albert (RIP)
Alberts been on the Bob Martins , will never fail to crack me up, so many many years later and its still so funny
Has to be one of my favourite characters in only fools
Uncle Albert was my favourite character pure class.... Buster Merryfield was brilliant 😁
I love uncle Albert absolute icon
Comedy at it's finest. Cushty
Did he have my previous acting experience? He's brilliant. Loved both grandad and uncle Albert
I loved watching Only fools and horses with Uncle Albert I loved his famous words during the war.
"Vot ist yaw nam?", sounds like good German to me. Lols
Thanks for all the laughs Uncle Albert.
Scene where he runs away from home and reminises about his childhood is a beautiful scene wonderfully acted
Who's there ! Knock Knock 👏😂Brilliant stuff from the archives
These earlier seasons were definitely the best ones, honestly.
For years I recked my brains... Grandad or Uncle Albert.... Grandad or Uncle Albert.... I always swung from one to the other.
In the end... It had to be Uncle Albert.
I agree. Uncle Albert took the show up to the next level
Pure Gold. It was legend.
Incredible character!
Del, ' a champagne and liver sausage sandwich man'. 😁
"I've got more relatives crawling out of the woodwork than Blake Carrington!"
Albert was brilliant
My favourite lines he did was
Can't you come back first thing in the morning lol 😆
The longest night
No I can't I have got other things to do you know lol
The shadow
Or “well, that’s a hell of a parting”. Said to Jumbo Mills
Rachel and Dell are SUCH a nice pair.
Fantastic!!! Thank you :)
met uncle albert about twenty yrs plus and he was down to earth and funny
Legend!
One of my favourite shows.
Dear adolf you can break our windows but not our hearts....look what they have done to it now ......amazing speech
Very funny uncle. The best.
Just speaks to John Sullivan's talent to create a character just as beloved after grandad died. Lesser writers wouldn't have had a chance of making it work.
He was so adorable
Absolute genius
YES I LOVE UNCLE ALBERT
After the death of lennard Pearce I think many thought that would be it for only fools and horses. The genius that was John Sullivan created uncle Albert . There are many memorable scenes with uncle Albert from the jumbo mills “ that’s one hell of a parting you’ve got there son” and the scene when del wants him to act shocked at Rodney taking a girl out on a date to even getting the coffee and gravy jars mixed up in time on our hands
9:50
He’s actually laughing
I miss telly like this 😪.
No offence to Lennard, but Buster being introduced was the final piece to making the show perfect
I must thank you for such an AMAZING edit BBC and producing such programmes.
if only they made stuff like this still, now its just far left, ultra woke garbage that noone likes
When BBC was worth watching. When it was almost worth paying the licence fee. They'll never see a penny from me again.
just pure genius
My favourite uncle Albert is the wee sample
This juice tastes horrible lol
I will miss him Uncle Albert 😊👍
Would have made the perfect Santa Clause
“During’ the war, it was Christmas Day, 1939. And I was delivering presents all over the world with nuffing, but six reindeer and a drunken elf. Those kids were uncaring, little sods, too. Never even left me a pie or a carrot!”
Both were brilliant
I want to be a part of TROTTER family…… they were real in my head!
Can't beat a bit of fools and horses , I never get bored of it
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂can't stop laughing
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely hilarious 😂 😃
There must be so much extra footage and photos laying around in the BBC vaults. Imagine what blu-ray extras could look like.
There doing some of the specials uncut in a boxset, hopefully they do the whole series in the future
The BBC doesn't hold on to unused footage for very long
Knock knock knocked him out 😂😂😂
And the name "Boomerang Trotter" was never used again.
When Racquel joined OFAH, it sometimes felt like I was watching EastEnders. I only ever watch series 1-5.
I thought she was a boring character. Moody in most of the later episodes 🤣I prefer the first series'
It’s like watching the Beale family get it together
