- Exiting the Xbox Game Showcase, there was plenty of optimism surrounding the brand. Unfortunately, one exclusive is receiving a ton of backlash being mass disliked across all platforms. While understandable, I think much of it boils down to misunderstanding what was actually shown and, in turn, making things much more impressive in one particular way.

I just want a return to the tone of TLC, The first Fable was my childhood. The narrative had a great mix of an epic story laced with dry and dark humor, the game made me a lifelong lover of RPG's. I'm hopeful this new game will live up to that. I pray to God it doesn't go the way of Saints Row.
Considering the company who got the rights to it and what a dumpster fire they've been making their social pages, you better believe it's gonna go the direction of Saints Row 😂
That’s where some generations differ, cause fable 3 was my child hood and I absolutely love it till this day and occasionally go back to play it for nostalgia.
@@cheekychicano680Fable 3 was garbage.
The purpose of this trailer appeared to be more about a graphical showing and to tell everyone (I think mainly older fans) that they are sticking with a similar tone rather than making it more "serious". As for what they showed with the protagonist, it's not entirely clear to me if this portrayal was what we should expect or just something that gave the trailer a better flow. I've seen people talking about the main character's gender and I imagine there will be a choice at the beginning in similar manner to Fable 2 and 3. Also I believe the "Jack and the Beanstalk" sequence threw people off because it had moments that looked like a "movie game" but I'm pretty sure Xbox and Playground have referred to it as an RPG and not an Action Adventure game. Having moments like this thrown in the mix with a classic style would probably be awesome.
Yeah it's a tone piece
Ya bro I hear you, it's not even the fans attacking this, mostly salty ponies
Yeah, Fable 2 or 3 had a trailer that was just following a chicken running around a kitchen being chased by a chef. That had a lot less than this.
No they're just making it a fucken ugly char.
IMO, the tone is not quite right. The humour is a little too self aware, I feel like the older Fables had balance and were still dark. It was still a fantasy. This seems like modern humour in a fantasy setting. It kind of reminds me of that movie "your highness". Despite that, the art style has been completely abandoned. Aesthetically, it definitely isn't Fable.
At no point did MS suggest that Fable is coming out sometime in 2024, games that are targeting that year were marked as such, and Phil's roundup at the end pointed to this as well. Fable is likely a 2025 game.
Correct, no chance this is a 2024 game. This is 2025, maybe even 2026 if things don't go as smoothly as they'd like.
I'm pretty sure it at earliest May 2025 at the trailer it said no date but realisic I see it as a August/September 2025 Because Xbox Show Case 2025 in June could Blow out with controler Game Play
Yes definitely 25! They make this game on the Forza Horizon Engine so while it has stunning graphics they must have had to create whole combat and other stuff from the buttom. Playground is such a great Studio! They will make it. I think this will be Visually superior to all RPGs.
Knowing the speed of MS xbox studios more likely 2026 an less is pretty short.

This didn't feel like fable. Fable was a dark fantasy with British gallow humour, not a comedy in a dark fantasy setting. Also I know we all joke that fable characters look ugly but this time it's no joke.
Personally I would like if every showcase did the Starfield thing where when a game is a few months out they have like a big 30-minute this is what the game is.
That would make perfect sense for hell-blade next year and Fable most likely the year after.
To have like a 30-minute Deep dive soaking play so you know exactly what you're getting.
I'd like this a lot, the gaming industry definitely needs more transparency.
Not sure how well that would work for a game like this, its not gonna be a staggering amount of new features, their will be an open world some house buying, some npc interaction, some character customisation magic, and exploring. Kinda standard rpg stuff with some more interaction and minigames.
I guess they could play though a level. But unless its like fable 3 where you can alter a kingdom, or the housing system is super in-depth their wont be a ton to break down.
@@expressrobkilltrue. fable already has so many established features that aren’t new and don’t need introduction. imo art direction and general tone is what makes fable fable. fable’s unique because it taps into the fairytale side of fantasy fiction that other rpgs just don’t and it has that specific british humour to it. you have to play fable to get a feel for it i think.

The only question I have for this Fable game is, does it have the variety of spells and abilities that fable lost chapters had? If it does then we can build a bit of positive momentum.

I don’t think people truly thought this was just a cinematic, I think people are frustrated that “in engine” cutscenes still don’t completely show us what the game is. Sure there were a couple spots in there that are likely gameplay but it’s not really what we were expecting based on the comments Xbox made leading up to the event. Those Twitter posts made it seem like gameplay would be a lot more prevalent than it was.
The voices for Commander Shepard were top notch in my opinion. So it can be done
Mass Effect was a voiced protagonist in all games. I think Matty’s point was series that start out with a non-voiced protagonist, then change to a voiced protagonist.
Also Shepard was a set character like his example of Geralt. Fable was traditionally you choose your own character, though maybe they will switch that up for the new game.
@@brandond40 If that’s what Matty meant than I misunderstood
@@m1lehighmagic i’m pretty sure it was because he made the same point in more detail in his other recent video on Fable. Which was more of a retrospective video on the original trilogy. Pretty dope video if you’re a fan of the series
@@brandond40 In that case, Mattys point was rather weak. Plenty of games with voiced protagonists that have choices and consequences. Does it matter whether it started off as such? Take Dragon Age as an example, the third game might have had lots of generic size content but it was fully voiced with lots of choices and consequences. And having a voiced protagonist doesn't have to mean all answers are fully voiced as well. Perhaps, inFable the protagonist might speak while still communicating via emotions during gameplay or written responses in dialogue. I do think voiced protagonists limit the ability to role play who you want to play since the voice might not match what you imagined in your head. For that reason I prefer no voice but I've seen both ways working out for different games.
@@brandond40 I mean in fairness he used The Witcher as an example which also started with a voiced protagonist. I think he just forgot Mass Effect existed for a second. lol. But I will agree some games are better voiceless and Fable is one of them. Shepard is Shepard much like Geralt is Geralt. You can shape them a bit but they are kinda set characters whereas Fable or TES is meant to be an avatar.
Unlike most of the other trailers, where you can tell there are at least some gameplay in it, the Fable trailer feels like a cinematic trailer through and through. It doesn't matter whether it's captured in game engine, you just can't tell how the game is played by watching the trailer.
Big fricken facts. I have no idea how this game will play. What this game will be. Nada. Massive miss in my opinion.
It's a trailer not a gameplay demonstration. It's to show u what the game looks like because no one heard from the game since it was announced.

There were gameplay scenes within the trailer. If you watch it again a few times, you will see where the gameplay is.
(the leg sweep ,move / throwing the potion / jumping through the fire / face off with the giant)
This was also shown on the Xbox series x per a dev
Ingame footage doesn't always mean gameplay footage.
The other good example of having your character voiced, would be mass effect trilogy. I couldn't imagine playing those without Shepard being voiced
Adding to this that, like Mass Effect, the Fable games having choices didn’t make them non-linear RPGs. A voiced character wouldn’t (I’d assume) alter that element of player choice too much in this case.
Yeah but ME had a somewhat partial identity previously attached to your character protagonist. That's the key. You're playing your VERSION of Shepard, not YOUR character.

They can say all they want about this being in-engine or in-game, but it's not actual GAMEPLAY. We still don't know how the game plays. We need raw footage.
I think what's far more likely than the main character specifically being the person we saw in the trailer is that it will behave like fable 2 where you can pick a gender and you have minimal voiceless from two actors. Maybe in this game there will simply be more voice lines from the pc than we got in previous titles, at any rate i think it's unfairly conclusive to assume that the trailer depicted every choice about character identity.
The problem is that it isn't cartoonish, so simply choosing male or female would mean having two characters modelled, voiced, and animated completely differently, which would mean lots of work from the developers, which isn't something companies usually afford. Even in Fable 3 the female character would get occasionally get transformed during gameplay to be able to use the male character's animations.

Even if it's "in-game" it was cut and spliced together to look like a trailer - they need to show some uncut (not stitched together) gameplay longer than 3-5 seconds. I didn't dislike what they showed, it looked good to me, but it wasn't what I wanted to see of the game. Fable is a beloved series that had a ton of features (even if it always falls well short of what's promised). I think it could really use a deep-dive on its own, like a good 20 minute chunk of solid gameplay; show some character creation, some combat, some NPC interaction, leveling, whatever other systems are involved. Obviously, they couldn't get that all in this showcase though.
People are just desesperate 😂
agreed and that’ll come next year
We need everything that made Fable 2 special, not just "British Humor".
The problem with this new Fable, or at least the trailer, is that it looks nothing like the original. The original is bright, has its set of lovable characters and a good antagonist, and has a feel to it that this new one fails to capture.
The actor with the weird modern glasses in a medieval fantasy doesn't fit. Jack and the beanstalk? Giants? Who remembers that in the original? They deliberately made the female protagonist weirdly masculinized. Why? Who are they trying to appeal to? Where's Jack Of Blades, you know, the original's antagonist? Why wasn't he more of a focus for the trailer?
It just seems like the game has all its priorities wrong. I mean, look up a video by the channel PlokTheMasterGamer where he compares the original game's trailer vs the new one. You can clearly tell the old one knew exactly what made it great and the new one has absolutely no idea of its own identity. This just tells me they're just making a game they want to make and slapping the Fable name on it to make sales.
Gameplay is one thing - but then there's tone. I hope they have some more classical UK comedy rather than the new. Talking Monty Python and Black Adder kinda stuff, ya know?
The older comedy troupes. The dry slapstick humour that Fable is more known for.
Some of the newer English comedians are just god awful. Richard being an exception.
And the voices, some of them are too iconic. Zoe Wanamaker and Stephen fry to name a few.
Overall I'm still concerned for Fable in some ways but if there's one thing Playground can guarantee it's fidelity.
The presented hero in the trailer is supposed to be a humorous take on the hero archetype. The trailer says "handsome dashing heroes with high cheek bones" but then they show the hero as an ordinary person, very far from the ideal etc. It's a pun. It's also in spirit with Fable where you were the "hero" yet you kicked chickens, did immoral things etc.
Ordinary people don’t look like that.

He did the same thing in his Avowed trailer reaction. Really disingenuous fanboy takes from Matty. Thought he had grown up from that.
The backslash is against the woke monstrosity character
What upsets me is the trailer implies a linear action adventure game, moments look like platforming. What makes Fable to me is your choices changing your character and the world around you. Also in Fable 1 you couldn't play a female character. I was hoping the new game would move towards more character customization, not less. I was initially really upset but i feel like i need to wait and see more.
This version of fable was clearly made for the "modern audience" instead of gamers.
What does that even mean? Do you think every gamer is a terminally online middle aged conservative with 'woke derangement syndrome' like you? Of course they're making it for modern gamers, who else would they make it for? People from the 1800's? You guys have gotten to the point where the word modern triggers you.
As a game dev “captured” doesn’t mean anything. They could just be running what essentially amounts to an in-engine cutscene on the hardware. Playground makes great looking cars, no doubt, but those characters and the foliage look miles better than they have in ANY Forza game.

A clip of a fireball being shot isn't gameplay, it's a clip of an animation used in gameplay, because we don't get to see the "play" part of it.

it will flop
I’m getting the feeling that…since it’s a “reboot” and a new studio and so much time has passed, that it’s a brand new game of it’s own kind just sort of using the Fable brand.
I'm 99.9% sure there was no release window announced (or even hinted at) for Fable. Assuming it's a 2025 game, I don't think there was anyone wrong with what was shown.
It’s the tone of the game, doesn’t feel like fable. Me and all my buddies who played EVERY SINGLE fable at launch (and still play to this day); none of us liked the trailer. Doesn’t look like fable or have a tone of fable. This CGI trailer sets the tone of what the games tone will be.
Graphics look amazing; but the tone is something I worry about. We need gameplay showcase with features, mechanics, settings, quest design, world design, combat infrastructure and art design to really understand what this will be.
Glad they kicked a chicken in the trailer, fable classic! Was my favorite part of the trailer. Also the main protagonist looks to be mute and that does help the tone of the original 2 installments.
The setting is what I believe I am mainly worried about, Jack and the giant bean stock looks hyper fairytale fantasy. Fable wasn’t hyper fantasy so I hope they bring something to the table that will sell me and put me in complete awe.
I hope they keep the moral system and landlord system. 2 of the many main pillars of the game.
We also NEED to have good co-op like fable 3. That’s the best part of that game was how brilliant the co-op was.
Simply they should have shown gameplay.
Given the state of AAA games nowadays, while excited I'm still skeptical. Seemed scripted, the main character broke the 4th wall when the giant picked her up. The giant was breaking the 4 wall speaking to us off screen. I highly doubt that's part of the game 😂. So the real question that needs to be asked is how much of what we saw was actually caught in game?
Having Richard Ayode as the giant boosted it 100pts for me!
Same!
So it went from -400 to -300 pts? It’s still a hard pass.

I'm not trying to dunk on your main point here, but in no way did that Fable trailer come off as "game play".
And saying the developer doubled down by stating it was captured on an XBox means little as far as that point.
You can't tell me they can't script a in-engine scene on a development build to make it flow and look awesome (which the trailer did for sure).
But as graphically impressive as it was, it still doesn't come any closer to telling me what this game actually will play like.
I was hoping for more in the extended XBox session today, but no joy.

I definitely prefer voiced protagonists in RPGs, but I'll concede FO4 didn't optimize it very well. Mass Effect is a good example of it done well.
I’m not expecting Fable until 2025, personally. However, I’m in full agreement, giving each of these big games their own direct is a great idea. They could start this fall with a Hellblade Direct, and give it a release date. Then that could carry us into next year. There are so many games in development, it’s really tough to figure out when some of them will release. I could see next year being Hellblade 2, Towerborne, Avowed, and Forza Horizon 6, for instance.
It would be very expensive and time consuming, but it would be great to see voice selection like with older Saints Row games

It wasn't just cinematics there was also a scene in a pub and the character interact with an npc.
The Fable trailer was simply a vibe/theme showing, I believe. Honestly, at this point in time, im not worried about it. I still anticipate humor, fantasy/mystery, create-a-character, a fairly explorable world. Even though it was the most limited, Fable 1 was the most atmospheric and fantasical to me. I hope that capture the feel I got from 1 again.
Well... I got Saints Row Reboot vibes from this...

All I got from it was "We're still getting Fable".
I also wouldn't consider what they showed gameplay.
I put cutscenes and CGI trailer pretty close together.
I don't think we saw a single ounce of real gameplay in that trailer.
I think we only saw a mix of CGI and cutscene, which technically makes Phil true to his word, but in a way that makes you roll your eyes.
Also, if we're still going to go with the "PlayStation show was bad" narrative, can we at least be more honest.
If we are counting the Fable trailer as "gameplay" then we have to count the PlayStation games as gameplay.
Sure, some were just CGI, but a lot of them were cutscene+CGI.
Alan Wake, for example, showed gameplay, but not real time gameplay, but it was gameplay none the less, because we saw the same gameplay section extended(plus Alan walking is also gameplay).
Xbox also didn't only show games exclusive to its platform, so PlayStation can't be knocked points for the same thing.
I won't argue the PlayStation Showcase was better because the Xbox one was truly better, but I'm suck of hearing the PlayStation one getting called bad, when in reality it's roughly equal the the Summer Games Fest Showcase(which was also great).
There were some short snippets of actual gameplay there, like with the fireball, but we can't really draw much information from that. It was something like 95% cutscene 5% gameplay.

My only issue for both Fable and Senua was that we didn't see untethered footage of gameplay. It was the in game cinematics and a brief, heavily edited vertical slice of what *might* be actual gameplay for Fable. We didn't see how the game will work (like if it'll be similar to God of War or Witcher). We didn't see if that fight will be a sorta on-the-rails section or if you're free to roam around that giant's home, or at least table, while dodging and attacking him, if we're even going to actually meet him at all. For Senua, we didn't see if there's going to be a far deeper expansion on gameplay like the combat or at least puzzles and exploration. Like I'm already expecting the narrative aspects of Senua to be superb so seeing those parts constantly isn't really reassuring when it comes to the rest of the piece.
90% of all trailers we saw that were AAA had zero actual gameplay. No controller in hand someone playing on stage like they used to back during E3.
Metaphor refantazio had gameplay. I don't need a guy controlling it but I got a good sense of what that game is by watching the trailer.
Fable on the other hand did not give me a clear picture of what It is and may as well have been CGI.
Matty...phil's comment on "collections of games" wasn't about a collection of remakes. He was just saying there are a bunch of games coming. You read to deeply into things sometimes lol.
Playground is notorious for beautiful visuals, this is their first time creating a game outside of racing games. But I have full faith in them cause this looked fantastic! I hope that we still have the option to grow old and have kids lol
@michaelange727 Playground Gams went with a Non-binary creature. That should tell us what kind of Fable game this is going to be. A major flopola! You heard it here first!👍
Some of the characters in forza horizon looked awful so did this abomination.
@@WarbandGames You guys are legitimately mentally ill. This is what happens when your sole interaction with women comes from porn and donating to v-tubers. Sad.
@@AIIEYESONME I like how your brains have been so rotted by right-wing propaganda that you now think women are 'non-binary' lmao.
@@residentsteve The character looks fine. Literally just like a random white chick. Do you guys have zero interaction with women outside of watching porn?
What is that OST in the BG???
One good thing is that the Forza team knows how to make beautiful environments, so at least it'll look nice...
I have never been so confused about a trailer in my life, that is all i can say.
@@carolinagamer2874 as a gamer myself I can say gamers are whinny as hell lol.
@@carolinagamer2874 Gamers don't know what they want.
@CarolinaGamer28 its not gameplay they honestly should have just made it a gameplay trailer.
I honestly don't really care whether Fable has character creation. Im indifferent on it. A lot of down votes obviously come from the "afraid of women and black people" crowd.
Is it coming out in 2024? i didnt see that in the trailer
It gets irritating when a game is gonna show their first trailer or what not everyone thinks they need to show 5-10 minutes of gameplay talk about every feature. Its the first reveal they dont need to show the amount people think they do
Still could have had a better showing. This trailer doesn't tell you anything about how the game will play.
1) The trailer being an in-game engine product is cool, but still would have been nice to see in-game gameplay instead
2) Love that you let people know that they're hiring, a great opportunity for someone to get their start in the industry, and for such a big project.
3) I don't think Fable is coming till after 2024
2025 - 2026 most likely knowing how much time it took from hellblade 2 to released if it released in 2024. Also yes No real gameplay in fable.
Hoping the trailer isn't a full accurate representation of the game and more a story trailer or something idk man, I was really excited about fable and now I'm nervous. I think the narrator is a giant and she climbed up to him so maybe it has something to do with the story or maybe he is writing a fable and influencing the world below, it's wild how I still have so many questions after not 1 but 2 teasers for this game
It seems for that it's two things: Just showing the game vibes or this is just a mission. If this is a mission, where you're dealing with such an enormous giant it would be interesting.
You create your character and the games about FIGHTING fables hence the Werewolf scene and those fighting scenes..
Why nervous lol?
That's every fable game though? I would expect all of that to be in a fable game, I've been obsessed with fable 1 and 2 since I was 6. I'm curious why we have a giant narrator fighting the protagonist. Fable has to have character creation by now, you could always pick a girl or boy in 2 and 3. I'm fully aware of fable.
@@ktdagoat1289 I would expect the giant is the protagonist of the game? Or just some type of character in the game we have to eventually come across, but I'm feeling more of the protagonist path
Idk I'm not getting a good feeling from that trailer, I just want fable 2 on PC at this point
This is not Fable. The only thing they had to do to hype old fans up is show or tease a morality system, body morphing system, starting as a kid and growing into an adult, real estate etc but they chose to show none of that which makes me thing they will focus on other things and not on things that make Fable well Fable.
My main issue with the trailer is that i was hoping for something that would clarify and answer questions left by the previous trailer but all it did was left me more puzzled than I was before. The graphical fidelity is great but other than that it's just weird to me.
Whoever designed the giant, made a weird design choice?
It's because it looks like the person who's voice acting it
Why did the giant have hipster clothes on? He looks like the nerd character from the bad saints row.
“This was captured on an Xbox Series X” so they played and captured a CGI video on a XSX .
It’s still CGI.
This would've been a great first announcement trailer. It's high time we finally got some actual footage. :/
It was actual footage.. They are just making games that look THAT good this is LITERALLY the second time in a row people tried to say gameplay WASNT gameplay cause the work was so fluid from cutscene to game it seems the same..
@@ktdagoat1289 It's not because it looks so good (but the graphics do look good) it's because it gives no feeling of what you'll be doing moment to moment.
@@ktdagoat1289I don’t think you know what gameplay means
Did you watch the video? It is actual footage and the game is a minimum of 18 months away ffs
@@ktdagoat1289 no, that was an in game cutscene. They showed literally 0 combat or level traversal. This was just a teaser. We already had a teaser 2 years ago. We needed to see combat and a release window. If they weren’t ready to show that just yet they should have waited. This was pointless
I don't think people hate characters because they are women. This character design is extremely political in that the design is trying to send a message. Out of all the female body types and designs you could have picked for the character in the trailer, why this one for? Who does this really represent? Not the women that will be buying the game or even the men that want to play a female character in their game, that's for sure. This character model is so bizarre, it doesn't even represent transwomen very well either - it's actually kind of insulting even to them since most transwoman pass better than that as well. It's almost like this character model was designed to make a political statement. Don't kid yourself - it's not there to drive any kind of sales, even from minority markets. Who is it really for, honestly?
If you wanted to represent women, you'd pick a female of an average body type and features with average level of femineity. That would reach the most women if you were actually interested in marketing to them.
And if you wanted to make someone more athletic because they are a fighter, archer, or something, you could look to real-world female athletes that play rough sports, like the Team Canada hockey team. But yet again, the overwhelming majority of those athletes in the real world are vastly more feminine looking than the character model they designed.
That is probably why people downvoted it. The design doesn't fit the market of women they are selling to, nor does it fit the real world body type and expression of women that would be in this role. This line of thinking is not irrational, and it doesn't make you a bigot to have these thoughts. I'm female and even I thought this. Developers have been pulling this kind of stuff for years now.
When you say “they created something so pretty” I hope you weren’t talking about the heroes face.
Ud think with a “stay sexy” outro he’d at least point out how the protagonist is dramatically not sexy and she is actually a he
I love a voiced protagonist. I go go through the trouble of making the perfect character, I want to see them interact in cutscenes, and to me, voiceless makes less sense. Like when you play GTAO or rdo and your character just awkwardly nods and shrugs, it's super weird. Granted, those are not RPGs and more MMOs than anything else. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I loved inquisition and saints row 2&3 and in those games you could choose your voice, I don't know. Lol
Same I'm always in the minority of preferring voiced protagonists in RPGs, provided there are some diverse options to choose from and the dialogue doesn't suffer as a result. Inquisition and the Saints Row games did it best by having a wide range of voices with different accents. I even enjoyed the FO4 voice, especially their delivery of the sarcastic lines. I get that having a voiceless character allows for more dialogue options and gives people a sense of immersion but for me it does the opposite. It just kinda feels hollow, like your character is just a silent observer not a present part of the events. Can you imagine how different that would've made Mass Effect feel? Yeah no thanks. But to each their own I guess.
I prefer voiceless. Or letting us choose a voice we like for the character we want to play as Saints Row style. Play a man with a woman’s voice, a woman with a man’s voice and play as Dr. Girlfriend from Venture Bros.
After waiting 13 years for a Fable game, I want a Fable game. Not a reimagining of Fable like we got with the Saints Row reimagining.
The trailer didn't feel like Fable, you could have told me it was a game set in the Shrek universe and it would have felt more on brand.
🤦🏽♂️
... get your eyes checked...
Go play starfield if you just want more of the same garbage a developer has churned out for decades
Cringe
This looks more like something from The Office than anything out of a Saints Row game though? Didn't see no dubstep gun or 20 somethings talking about robbing banks for student loans.
The only Fable I want these days is the Story of William Black. Imagine playing as William, the original Hero and ultimately the first Archon. Seeing those ancient Old Kingdom Ruins from Fable 1 in their glory, defeating The Court, going against Jack of Blades, Knight of Blades, and the Queen of Blades. The fights between those four are canonically, earth shattering. It would be so cool.
Even if that portion would be a prequel/on rails first act, followed by you taking the reigns of William Black's first, nameless/faceless direct bloodline descendant. That way we can experience this awesome side of Fable Lore, stay true to the Fable "Be anyone, do anything" style of story telling, developing a whole new story and new Heroes while also going back to the games roots.
The problem is it isn't fable. It seems like it's doing a saints row kind of thing. Fable was never a full blown comedy as a main focus. Play the old games or hell you can even watch the old trailers for the original games. The comedy aspect was absolutely secondary to what the game was. The games were about being a hero and choosing your destiny whether you were a good person or not. I get the feeling they aren't making a proper story just going with the wacky humour of what they been showing.
What scares me is they said it’s a more modern Day take and any time you put the words modern and day together I get scared because today’s society of people are a bunch of idiots and I do not want anything that has to do with today’s modern day ANYTHING. It’s got me worried that they’re gonna make it woke because let’s be real that trailer screams woke
Every day i'm becoming more convinced that Netherrealm and Gunfire Games are the only studios that actually have a clue as to what their audience expects to see from the marketing of their games.
Hell Gunfire took it a step further even flew out Admiral Bahroo for an uninterrupted 2 hour livestream showing off the Remnant 2 and did the same for the first game. Throw in Netherrealms Kombat Kast and yeah, take notes devs. These guys know how to do it
In other words, you want to see characters you can beat it to.
Who?
Do you work for these people or something?
I don't think that the trailer being in-engine changes anything (at least not for me), the problem with CG trailers isn't that they are not in-engine, it's that they show you how the game is going to play and look when you actually play it. A cinematic trailer in-engine is still not a reflection of how the game will actually look when you play, and it's definetly not an indication of how it will play.
This is ultimately the problem.
Wil it be on xbox one or just xbox series x
Hey Matty! Thanks for all the content following the Summer Games Fest. You are my fave content creator for going through all this stuff. Starfield is my number one game that I'm waiting for. Pre ordered the Constellation Edition, never ordered a collectors edition for any game ever but I really feel BGS have knocked it out of the park this time. I'm like you and love everything BGS have done along with Obsidian and F:NV. Plenty of good games that have my interest, Avowed, Star Wars, Clockwork Revolution and a few others. Fables never been my cup of tea but who knows, Gamepass sure does make it easy to try new stuff. Stay awesome!!!!
It looked to me that they were plenty of scenes in which gameplay was being shown but no HUD was being shown.
Here's a easy to understand example. Think about Spider-Man 2. In the bottom left corner there are four buttons. Press one of those buttons. Spider-Man will do some sort of acrobatic attack. Now remove the HUD and show one second of one of these abilities. That still would be considered game play.
Things that I think are game play.
Fire ball throw.
Jumping through the firewall.
Kicking the giant mouse trap onto the giant's hand.
Also that sword play
It’s clear that most developers have realized that they gain nothing from showing actual raw gameplay more than a year out from the game. Odds are either the frame rate or visuals won’t be polished that far in advance and there is no reason to get negative reactions from something that isn’t final. There is a reason Sony didn’t show much from God of War Ragnarok or Spider-Man 2 until they were just a few months away from release.
Metaphor re fantazio did.
I'm worried Fable isn't going to be an open world, make your own character RPG anymore.
