Have you ever thought about digging a hole and putting the pool in there? That way Stompy would have it easier getting in there.
Maya is still young. I am sure she will grow wiser with age. She is doing pretty well at the moment.
Might be a drown risk for smaller critters
Might be a safety hazard for the other pasture animals, though. If it was a man-made pond, it might be a bit different bc of the slope going into the water, but an underground pool with hard edges would be easy and possibly fatal for a horse, cow, or donkey to fall into. I know they're all smart but idk accidents happen, when it gets dark it might be hard to see, if it's raining and muddy they could slip, just isn't worth the risk basically :/. Now, if Stompy had his own enclosure where they could make him his own lil waterpark, on the other hand...
They did dig into the hill to make it easier to get in. The problem is the stone the land is on isn't easy to dig. Stompy's brain just doesn't have many wrinkles because of it's small size. :)

This makes the Australians look pretty bad that they couldn’t take out a group of these things.
To be fair, swimming pools are not part of an Emu's natural environment. Water? Yes. Stepping up/over/down into water? Does not compute.
There were thousands among thousands, in the “war,” only 3 soldiers were sent out with only one machine gun. After they failed to kill a lot a bounty was put on emus and a lot of the population was culled by the farmers themselves. But nobody tends to talk about these finer points because it ruins the story.

Why don't you build some earth up around the sides of the pool? Like a little ramp. Seems like getting into the pool would then look less daunting for the big man.
I agree. A better approach though would be dig the entire thing into the ground a bit. Way less dirt moving that way!

Funny enough he just jumps right out when he's done. It's takes wayyy longer to get him in and then just a few seconds to get out
@@nba_fan7214 Yes, it's not getting in and out that is the issue. The difficulty is he doesn't know how deep the water is and so he is scared to go if it is too deep. It's a survival mechanism.

Emu war happened because nobody thought of building a Fence, sitting around watching potatoes grow and shooting wild animals for fun was less work and less thinking,
The emus were able to hop and destroy the fences. Not at all saying a war on a native animal should’ve been done, but the fencing they had wasn’t sufficient to keep them out
