National Anthem of Romania: Deșteaptă te, române!

"Deșteaptă-te, române!" (Awaken, Romanian!) is the national anthem of Romania.
The lyrics were composed by Andrei Mureșanu (1816-1863) and the music was popular (it was chosen for the poem by Gheorghe Ucenescu, as most sources say). It was written and published during the 1848 revolution, initially with the name “Un răsunet”. It was first sung in late June in the same year in the city of Brașov, on the streets of Șchei quarter. It was immediately accepted as the revolutionary anthem and renamed “Deșteaptă-te, române”.
Since then, this song, which contains a message of liberty and patriotism, has been sung during all major Romanian conflicts, including during the 1989 anti-communist revolution. After that revolution, it became the national anthem, replacing the communist-era national anthem "Trei culori". From 1991 to 1994, it also served as the national anthem of Moldova.
This version is sung by Brio Sonores.

Poezia Răsunet (în manuscris Unu răsunetu) a fost publicată în numărul 25 din 21 iunie 1848 al revistei „Foaie pentru minte, inimă și literatură” avându-l ca autor pe Andrei Mureșanu. Se presupune că este un ecou, un răspuns, o replică la poezia Către români a lui Vasile Alecsandri, publicată în numărul 21 din 24 mai 1848 al aceleiași reviste.

Deșteaptă-te, române! (Éveille-toi, Roumain !) est l'hymne national de la Roumanie écrit par Andrei Mureșanu (1816-1863), poète de facture romantique, journaliste, traducteur, un véritable tribun de l'époque marquée par la Révolution de 1848. La musique a été choisie parmi plusieurs chansons par Gheorghe Ucenescu (1830-1896), chanteur et professeur de musique, disciple et collaborateur d'Anton Pann.
Le poème Un răsunet (Un écho) d'Andrei Mureșanu, rédigé et publié pendant la Révolution de 1848 à Brașov, a été mis en musique en quelques jours seulement, puisqu'il a été chanté pour la première fois fin mai 1848 dans cette ville (la Révolution a commencé le 11 juin). Le poème deviendra hymne sous le titre Deșteaptă-te, române!, en remportant aussitôt un succès important, grâce à son message énergique et stimulant.
Dès lors, cet hymne a été chanté lors de tous les conflits importants, étant donné le message de patriotisme et de liberté qu'il véhicule. Ce fut le cas notamment lors de la révolution roumaine de 1989, remplaçant du même coup l'hymne communiste Trei culori (Trois couleurs). Ce fut aussi l'hymne national de la Moldavie de 1991 à 1994. - Hudba

And she kindly taught me English.In response to her kindness, I did my best to support her as she struggled with her difficult Japanese and work.
On holidays, I had a good time eating Japanese Sushi, European food, and drinking alcohol.
I have come to like the country of Romania, which used to be far away. Although I worked with her for a short time, I will never forget the gratitude of Romanian women.

Your grandmother probably would've wanted at some point to teach you, but she knew that you wouldn't grow interested just because of the fact that the language is very hard to learn.

The US Foreign Service Institute (FSI) ranked Romanian as a Category I language. Which means that it's one of the easier languages to learn if you're a native English speaker, even easier if you know other Romance languages. But I guess it also depends on the abilities of the learners in question.

Russians in the past had the same privilage here but during last years it's quite worse from obvious reasons because Czechs don't like anything connected to communism or in the last year to Russia aswell. However Romania has quite high level of recognition. (Not scammers from Romania in Prague however...)

Romania for its whole history had to defend every inch of its borders. It formed only because of the bravery of Carol the first and his army that defeated the Turks and established a new state that had to reclaim all of the Romanians from the foreign occupation. The Romanians had passed through a lot of ocupations from Russians and Turks but they managed to be together.

Romania initially liberated itself under the wing of the Russian empire, as they supported Russia against the Ottomans in the Russian-Turkish war. Everything is clear there for the given authority.
I consider Romanians to be friends in faith, and also close in history.
@@onevablo1692 I'm sorry to say but Russia was never Romania's ally, it was its second greatest enemy. Even in the War of Independence the Ottomans were viewed as the good guys, not the Russians. 1812 was the worst year in Romanian history and it's all because of Russia (Moldavia and Wallachia allied with Russia) they've occupied half of our country (Bessarabia (today Budjak) and Moldavia in between the Prut and Dnister) and pillaged the other parts (I don't want to go into detail here but the Russians (ironically "our allies") did some really bad stuff here). And in the war of independence, they've taken three counties from us Izmail, Cahul and Bolgrad which they said they wouldn't when we've entered the war. And in Bessarabia massive settlement of Russians, Ukrainians and Germans changing the ethnic map from Romanian with a large Turkish and Tatar minority to a Romanian majority (with no representation basically being slaves) and a large Ukrainian minority and other things too but this comment is already long enough.
