- Old Bavarian hunting knife Nicker restoration. In this video I showed the restoration of an old hunting knife. This is an old Bavarian Nicker hunting knife. Nice antique knife. I think this knife was made in the early 20th century. I like knives of this type and decided to restore an old rusty knife. I removed the rust and repaired the handle. I hope you liked my restoration.

Hello from Poland
Gorgeous!
Nice job brother. Like from Mumbai, India.
Thumb up for keeping the original handle! As much as I'm not a fan of antler handles usually, I'm really glad you kept the old one.
Great work! This knife is called Jagdnicker, hunting knife for stabbing deer. They still make them similar way now, I recently bought one in Germany for my collection. You can also make traditional style sheath for it, it is usually small and simple, should fit into special pocket of leather shorts :)
Was used to stab small game, up to roe , as final stab by stabbing into neck between spine bones. Large game was stabbed into heart or lung with Hirschfänger/ Staufänger or Saufeder/ boarspear, which has currently a small comeback. The Nicker was into 1960s in southern Germany and Austria a common EDC knife, even in 1990s, some older men carried one.
I didn’t think that you were keeping the original handle, but you did! Great job as always
What a beautiful restoration.. love it 👍🏻😎
Absolutely phenomenal restoration! 👍😎👍
Thank you)
Except the crack not being filled was a bit annoying but otherwise a great looking knife now lol

I’m amazed to the point that I don’t know if it’s real! Very impressive either way!
It looks beautiful and you did a wonderful job restoring it as well!!!!
I enjoyed your video so I gave it a Thumbs Up for the support of your channel
Very nice!!! Especially the brass cap!!👍👍👍
Omg ...... the hand sanding..........😲. Very nice result.
Amazing!
nice work !
Great job bro

An antique knife that looks like new. 🤑🤑🤑
Another classic high quality restoration! Slava Ukraine Glory to Heroes!!!
Knife turned out hella dope @ReXtorer. Now (if you haven't already done so) you've got to stitch up an equally dope sheath as well!
Very authentic knife, congratulations 👍🏻.
Another beautiful restoration!!
Das ist ein Hirschfänger. Bavarian knife!
When I was a kid I had a knife with a similar blade shape only mine had a deer foot as the handle. Fantastic knife this was can't remember what I did with it.
Bitte.
Semmel! 😉😁
Wow! Incredible job, the knife is beautiful!
Good! Very good! (Brazil)
Awesome!
Incredible! The blade and pummel are perfect. I am surprised you didn't fill the handle crack with the epoxy/bone meal mixture. A fabulous job as usual.
Thank you! The crack on the handle is part of the history)
Ok, I get that.@@ReXtorer

Trabalho de restauração sempre impecável! 👍☺️⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Obrigado!
Wow!!!!! Absolutely stunning work!!! Do you sell your restorations? Your skills are without equal!! Well done sir!!!
Thank you! No, I'm not selling, I'm collecting)
👍
VERY interesting tang. Looks to be hand-hammered. I have an identical tang, that can be seen on the KKF, from a J.A.Henckles kitchen knife that I believe is only from the middle of the last Century although it looks to be an almost pre-industrialization type of manufacture. Nice job on the resto! I'm not a fan of antler handles for some reason.
Thank you! The antler handle is a feature of this type of knife.
🥶
Gut jop
👍💪👏
Faca de caça bávara restaurada 🔪😉
Very nice work! What is that style of knife used for?
Thanks! It is hunting knife
You should metal refill with welding machine
would you save a lot of time in you skiped the vinegar and soda and went straigt for the? Those two steep seems to be a waste of time since you grind it afterwards
Where do you find all these old knives you are restoring?
what is that glue he used? Thanks.
after i saw making the copper part that way, i've been afraid of that guy 😀
💙💛
Could the sanding of the blade also be done with some kind of powertool or is there a specific reason for hand sanding?
Hand work is more accurate and less likely to damage the geometry of the blade.
@@ReXtorer
👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏👍👏🥃🥃🥃
What do you do with the finished pieces?
Some things I collect, some I give to friends
Looks more like a paring knife.
