SUNNING HILL, JAMAICA - It was truly an honor to have a chance to hang out at Ras Kitchen in Sunning Hill, Jamaica, with the legendary Rasta Mokko and Matt. We had an amazing time hanging out, learning from Ras Mokko’s knowledge of ingredients, cooking, and life, and eating delicious Jamaican Rasta food. #Rasta #Jamaica #JamaicanFood
We arrived to Sunning Hill, found Matt ( / jabap ) who films and operates Ras Kitchen, and then we headed down to the yard to meet Ras Mokko.
Ras Mokko got started cooking a few of his signature Rasta Jamaican foods - today on the menu was red herring and ackee rundown with fresh coconut milk. This was just our first course, which Ras Mokko served along with fresh roasted breadfruit. The combination of ingredients and the creaminess of the ackee was spectacular.
After lunch we had one of the most unique beverages I’ve had - hand squeezed soursop, with condensed milk, and Guiness. It was unique and somehow worked perfectly. It was deliciously sweet, fruity, and foamy.
In the afternoon, we took a swim in the river, and one of the highlights was Ras Mokko taking us on a tour of the garden and herb farm where he grows many of his own ingredients that he cooks.
Finally, to wash it all down, Ras Mokko made a Rasta herbal tea, including a mix of medicinal herbs.
An incredible day in Sunning Hill, Jamaican, and a Jamaican Rasta food experience with the legendary Ras Mokko and Matt of Ras Kitchen!

My best friend parents were from Jamaica. Her mom was an excellent cook. One time, she cooked kidney and dumplings. They all knew I didn't eat organ meat but they persuaded me to try it. It was the best meal I have ever eaten. When I finally got the chance to visit Jamaica, I didn't want to leave. It felt like home and I long for the island now.

This is my second video of watching of this guy and both was about Jamaica. I’ve been to Jamaica a couple of times and many other places but Jamaica is one place I would always be willing to go to. The people there are so calm and relaxed and it’s just a great atmosphere

I spent parts of my childhood in rural Jamaica and I can't tell you how much I miss this authentic and simplistic way of life. Ras really captures this. Hope to visit soon after corona is gone.

@@ervinstewart3259 I know it too well my friend, my uncle decided to build a massive structure next to our house, it blocks all lights so 2 of bedroom :: my brother and my little sister, their room are totally dark inside now. So we talk to him to negociate, if he can do something only to bring us minimum light , here are his arguments : 1 - He does whatever he wants in his house ( he is rich and it's his 5th house, he doesn't even live here) 2- He have to optimize 100% of the surface 3 - He will not put one cent.
We had to call police and learn that his structure it's totally illegal, to keep us away of the idea of pressing charge, he corrupted a Cops to call my mother who is extremely fragile to intimidate her, it worked, but we are a family and we protected her and rassuring her, this cops got big troubles. The uncle keep doing anything, mostly illegal things to make our life a nightmare.
Money corrupt hearts and souls and even family means nothing to money.

Your mom shouldn't be threatened, if it was my mom then that uncle would be folded up no question. For my mom i would die.
