As a two tour Vietnam Veteran myself I enjoyed the video. Having a mom and dad that flew but I was never a pilot and when I got my orders for Helicopter flight school, I was within a few weeks of ETS and decided not extend my tour. Something I have regretted since I got out! Thank you for your service.
Senegal01, Thank you for your comment and also Thank you for your service. It is still possible to become a pilot , especially of a light sport aircraft. Both my brothers are pilots and I plan to do enough flight training to fly a Part 103 ultralight. I flew as an aircraft electrician and flight crewman on a P3 based in Cam Rahn Bay in 1969 - 1970. Memories I'll never forget and experiences I am blessed to have lived. Thank you again, Regards, Wayne Whitley
@@WhitleyVideos 66-67 I was a flight clerk for the 224th Avn Bn, 146th Avn. So lots of times the pilot would ask if I wanted a ride, if not a mission. Lots of time in the Otter and WO2 would let me fly. Great times.

I worked on that purple and black SuperSTOL, replaced the guys alternator after it locked up on him. Nice fella.

Wayne, I just watched the video on the SuperSTOL XL with Harrison Smith. I noticed Harrison had mention my Just SuperSTOL the Plum Crazy Purple one. I made a short video clip of the section with my plane in it. I hope you don’t mind. Chris Wallen and I built it at his shop in Travelers Rest, SC. I had designed, fabricated, and installed the flying tail and the carbon fiber instrument panel, and floor boards. I posted the clip on Just Highlander & SuperSTOL Builders Facebook Page. I was wondering if you have any other videos or photos of my plane.

Wayne, great flight in an awesome plane. It's a toss up vs. a CubCrafter Carbon Cub, a Maule M7 & a highly modified KitFox for lowest, slowest & STOL iest plane out there. STOL Drags at Reno this year- 1st new competition in 20 years! Like the evolving of craft and yet how far is it from the original SuperCub at the end of the day? Other than stuffing a titan 180 HP motor up front that is!

(Raised eyebrow, laser focused glare) Hmmm, who's Wes Whitley- yet another (older) brother with avionics experience, or, it that what your friends call you? Hmmm, spider senses tingling now, I ALSO noticed that there's an awful lot of Just Aircraft video captured over time. Sun & Fun, EAA AirVenture... it doesn't seem random at all. I suspect that you OWN one or sumthin like that... How many Whitley pilots are there? How many use "Whitley Field" for Challenger II transition training? Quite a few questions, Wayne- or, is it WES!

@@WhitleyVideos -Wayne- NO Aerolite 103 YET, but, on the hunt! Have chatted via e-mail with Dennis Carley & have permission from my wife, but- many things must align before jumping. Struggling to find suitable places (Whitley Turf Field for example) to fly & easy storage, sport pilot training & transition... Many i's to dot & t's to cross- but, an exciting adventure from any view point. Enjoying the journey greatly (insert smiley face here)

phegley3, Thank you for your comment, glad you enjoyed my video. The Just 103 is being flight tested. Sometimes these tests take more time but at the end of the day, they are necessary to produce the safest and best built aircraft possible. Regards, Wayne Whitley
