Used to be a really big water fountain at 7:50 time stamp. In the 80's during Christmas time they would cover up the water fountain with a platform. Would setup Christmas tree's and stuff like that on top of the platform I remember there was Christmas animatronics as well. When it was being used as a normal water fountain you could see ton of pennies in the water fountain by people making wishes.
Thanks for sharing some history. Would love to see some pictures or videos of that time period. Thanks for Watching!
I've lived here my whole life. We had nice concerts on the fountain stage as well back then. I truly miss those days from the 90s back through the 80s and 70s.❤
@@lawrencegrace9302 Also looking through the Sears Catalog for Xmas ideas you would like to get. lol
I was born and raised in Lima. Unfortunately it has went downhill. I knew that when I became an adult I would be out of there & raise my kids outside of Lima.
My two daughters are adults now. I moved to Findlay for many years then I transitioned to wapakoneta in 2022 which I'm not a fan of 🙄 but my 3 grandkids are here & they are my entire world so wherever they go I go lol I'm always connected to Lima.
I will never forget where I came from and I still have friends and family there that I visit often. It has so much potential.
I just wish the politicians would help more on the south side and east side of Lima. My point is hopefully maybe you will travel to the two other cities I just mentioned that would be cool to watch as well.
Thank you for this video. I just somehow got it in my algorithm lol It's like so true what they say, your phone really can listen in on you lol
I just subscribed. ❤
@jenniferkline4196 Thanks for Watching and Subscribing! We really appreciate it! Thanks also for sharing your story. We caught a little of Wapakoneta in one of our Dixie Highway Videos. Haven't done anything in Findlay yet. Hope you have a great Labor Day Weekend!
My mall! I wish someone had catalogued the place in the 80’s so I could see it like that again, but I’m glad to have this snapshot in time.
We would've liked to have seen it also back in the 80's. Thanks for watching!
It used to be the center point of that side of town, mcl cafeteria was located by elder Berman ,I worked there in the mid90's
Thanks for Watching and sharing some history of the Mall.
I had forgotten how noisy malls used to be. I kinda like the din of people living their lives. It's what I miss from the 60s and 70s, the noise of kids carrying on.
Thanks for Watching and leaving a comment!
I miss The American Mall in its prime. Parasons, Hills, the movie theater, arcade, Value City.
@caseysmith811 We always liked the American Mall. Thanks for Watching and sharing your memories.
Hills wasn’t in the mall. It was where Kohls is located on Elida road. I worked there for 10 years.
Oh my god you just made me so hungry lol I absolutely miss the American mall to you but nothing more than PARASONS! I swear to this day I have never found a spaghetti sauce as good as theirs as well as a garlic bread damn that's torture.,.. like why can't we bring that back😢
Blast from the past! I will be visiting.
Good, support the old malls. Thanks for Watching!
j c penney best days about 30 to 50 years ago
@davidbell9130 Thanks for Watching! We miss those days!
Woolworths use to be up where the shoe place is going towards the old Elderbeerman. Woolworths also had a sit down diner just off the opening of Penny's. I know as I use to work there.
Thanks for Watching and sharing your memories. We miss the old Woolworth stores and the Woolworth Restaurants.
The pickup with multiple colored mismatched body panels doing donuts at the end is how I know this was actually filmed in Lima, Ohio 🤣
🤣🤣 Thanks for Watching!
Nice video!
Thanks for Watching!
This mall is dead since you shot this video half the stores are closed.
@richysteele8972 That's sad to hear. Thanks for Watching!
You call that a mall I call it junk
okay then don't visit. We'll keep our cheap real estate and low cost of living. Enjoy your entitlement and bad attitude!
There’s still a mall in lima?
Yes. It is on the west side of town on 309. Thanks for Watching!
There was 2 Malls in Lima, Ohio they was called "Lima Mall" and "American Mall" both opened in 1965 they was 2.6 miles from each other.
Lima Mall is still going in 2024 but without most it's anchor stores. However American Mall shutdown closed for good in 2008 but before that perhaps in very late 90's American Mall was like 70% empty.
@@OutlawNix Thanks for your comment. I remember the American Mall.
The American Mall is no longer in existence.
@maxinebutturff1607 Thanks for Watching
