La Linda, Coahuila - An abandoned mining community

While stranded in the Chihuahuan Desert for 5 days, Dolan embraces the full experience by exploring an abandoned mining community nearby. My understanding is that fluorite was mined there, which is different than feldspar.
Maybe both were mined in the area(?) It is a geologically fascinating region - I'd love to check it out, Alpine as a base for the adventure. Thx f/posting!

Yes the entire area is facinating geologically. I am continually learning more about the region that I did not know before. It is magical and breathtaking. And yes, Alpine is a great base station! Thanks for your comment!

How did you get there - wade across? The old bridge has been barricaded for years. Glad you apparently met no US border patrol on the way back. They can have a problem with that crossing.
