  • Marjorie Taylor Greene’s claims of Jan. 6 defendant mistreatment are disputed by Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who observed the visit of Republicans to the jail holding accused January 6th criminals on Friday. “This was an excuse for Marjorie Taylor Greene to have another press conference,” Rep. Crockett tells The ReidOut.

Did you miss the part where she said that prisoners are charged for medical care and that often times there isn’t even air conditioning in TEXAS?! You and I both know how hot it gets in the south. And when she said that it didn’t strike as kinda messed up?! Well if it did you didn’t mention it.
In fact out of everything she pointed out, the smartest response *you* could say is….that drivel.
Open your ears, man. I bet you’re one of those types who cries about how “the country is so divided now people can’t even have a conversation anymore and don’t respect each other,” yet here you are caught red handed not even practicing what you preach.
And here’s something to think about - even though Rep. Crockett might not agree with *your* political view, if YOU were locked up in prison SHE would be out there advocating for your right to humane treatment regardless of whether y’all agreed on anything. Cause she sees you as a human before anything else. Now if the roles were reversed (assuming you could pass the BAR exam), you wouldn’t do the same for her.

I'm Dutch and pro responsible locking up of people, but of course, then for all not just what it's about in the video. It just helps people not turning into monsters after being treated like .....for years, decades even. Recividism numbers are way lower, so it works. The punishment is to take away someone their right to roam the street, access to proper lights after 10pm or 11pm with other than maybe reading with a very weak bedstand light, nothing other to do than think. Give them a purpose during the day, teach them new skills, keep them occupied. I know the numbers in the US don't relate to the Dutch ones, but even you have a much higher percentage of people being locked up, not for being totally insane and a serial killer, but for aggregating aggression, scams, etc.
Unfortunatelly ,that US aggression turns into gun violence real quick, making people sit a lot longer. Numbers:
      - According to the most recent data available, the United States has a recidivism rate of around 68 percent within three years of release. In Canada, the recidivism rate is around 44 percent within five years of release. In England and Wales, the recidivism rate is around 29 percent within one year of release. In Australia, the recidivism rate is around 43 percent within two years of release, the Netherlands around 30 percent within two year of release.

Except that mtg is a part of a larger network, who are armed to the teeth, well trained, and are set to dispatch so called "black" (code for democrat) people, given the right - on the ground - conditions.
The democrats had better learn to embrace the 2nd Amendment of the Constitution, so that they will be able to repel the mtg's, who are currently embedded within the various systems of the, United States, and NOT get caught flat-footed, and dominated by those, who are armed to the teeth! Wake-up democrats! As it stands - RIGHT NOW - people like mtg and [45] can walk alongside sheriffs, and their deputies, while being armed to the teeth, where Rep. Crockett, and people, who look like her, cannot! SMELL THE COFFEE... A COLLEGE DEGREE IS NOT REQUIRED TO COMMIT MASS-MURDER!

Released after 21 days, no charges. Because we were Canadian, bail bondsmen would not deal with us. We were lucky to get a book or newspaper, and never allowed out of a cell holding 18 prisoners. I also love how noone on the right even thought about a tiny detail when they were glued to the tv set when Tucker said: "Here's the hidden footage they didn't want you to see!". He mentions the fast majority is just there without bad intentions. Sure, I can agree to that being a possibility. When I run the estimates of crowd size and people being arrest on that day itself, it's 2 percent. (~600 arrests of ~30,000 people which is low, other sources say up to 50,000....mass facial recognition software anyone? Can't even tell how many people arein a football stadium, but okay)...so 98 percent of the people on the footage, just went home that evening. Some later that night after footage turned out them to have maybe only entered an area that's closed off for the public (that day). Later on arrests were made by sluething of FBI and people online. Aren't they then the 'hooligans' he mentioned, kicking in windows and doors? Those roughly 1,000 people have being prosecuted mostly for ransacking the place,, like kicking in doors, take stuff, damage interiours etc. .
I keep the 'tourists', 'there was no violence', 'muh FBI, antifa, blm' fantasies of people cosplaying being a conservative their whole life with a list of online posting or ideas they had in school etc.

Not sure if there';s a minimum sentence length needed to take that right off of someone, am Dutch myself and have to look it up. But I'm going to cook instead, need my soy toast!

    • @nlx78
      @nlx78 Před rokem +5

Ah well, looked it up anyway:
It has been common practice in the United States to make felons ineligible to vote, in some cases permanently. Over the last few decades, the general trend has been toward reinstating the right to vote at some point, although this is a state-by-state policy choice. (See "Recent State Actions" below for a chronology.)
Currently, state approaches to felon disenfranchisement vary tremendously. NCSL has divided states into four categories, as detailed in Table 1 below.
In all cases, "automatic restoration" does not mean voter registration is automatic. Typically, prison officials automatically inform election officials that an individual's rights have been restored. The person is then responsible for re-registering through normal processes. Some states, such as California, require voter registration information be provided to formerly incarcerated people.
      In summary:
      * In the District of Columbia, Maine and Vermont, felons never lose their right to vote, even while they are incarcerated.
In 22 states, felons lose their voting rights only while incarcerated, and receive automatic restoration upon release. Note that in Maryland, convictions for buying or selling votes can only be restored through pardon.
      * In 15 states, felons lose their voting rights during incarceration, and for a period of time after, typically while on parole and/or probation. Voting rights are automatically restored after this time period. Former felons may also have to pay any outstanding fines, fees or restitution before their rights are restored.
      * In 11 states, felons lose their voting rights indefinitely for some crimes, or require a governor’s pardon for voting rights to be restored, face an additional waiting period after completion of sentence (including parole and probation) or require additional action before voting rights can be restored. These states are listed in the fourth category on Table 1. Details on these states are found in Table 2 below.
