Okay, the planes are supposed to be this: On White Friday, an avalanche buried both Italian and Austro-Hungarian forces to the point where it's impossible to recover their bodies to this day. The planes dogfighting signify that the war continued on, and with it time continued on, that's what the World War II planes were doing in the video, signifying that those men are still up on that mountaintop even after one World War ended and another began.....and still they remain, soldiers of heaven. Frozen in time.
The remains are being found every once and a while when the glaciers shift/melt.

"White Friday occurred during the Italian Front of World War I (1916), when an avalanche struck Austro-Hungarian barracks on Mount Marmolada, killing 270 soldiers. Other avalanches the same day struck Italian and other Austro-Hungarian positions, killing hundreds. According to some reports both sides deliberately fired shells into the weakened snowpacks in an attempt to bury the other side.
An accurate estimation of the number of casualties from the White Friday avalanches is not available. Historical documents suggest at least 2,000 victims among the soldiers and a few dozens among civilians."
One of the many things I love about Sabaton. Never take a side, nationally or politically, with their lyrics.. they just tell war stories that are unknown or lost to many.
My intro to Sabaton was explained to me "they sing about military stuff and war." Totally not my thing. Turns out Sabaton sings about the humanity of war, which is something near impossible to talk about much less write songs. I came into their orbit way late, but man oh man am I glad I'm here now.
@@Neurodrill for me it was a bit different, think I heard a song of "Primo Victoria" when that came out and I thought "hm, this is kinda cool".. and then I started paying more attention to the lyrics and suddenly I was going "holy shit... this is amazing!".. been a huge fan ever since!
And of all the bands I listen to and of all the bands I've been a fan of for 10+ years.. I think Sabaton is the one I recommend to people the most.
That silence said all... Respect!

This song is not about soldiers who died in combat. This song is about soldiers who died in avalanches. Or froze. As many as 60,000 were devoured by avalanches. To date, there are still several thousand of them in the Alps. They are on permanent watch to this day

I'm from Michigan so the cold and the snow are no strangers to me, I even get excited when the weather gets below 80 here in Texas! But the idea of slowly freezing to death or even dying in an avalanche to suffocate under all that snow scares the hell out of me! RIP to those who did not grow old or come home...
I love how Sabaton can give you a feeling of pride of the courage of soldiers from wathever nation in whatever battle, and at the same time pointing out the tragedy and insanity of war and not turning it into some machismo or "war is cool"- kind of thing.
Yet there are still idiots calling them warmongers and nazis
Yes the first plane is Red Baron's Fokker Dr fighter symbolizing WWI. The later pair is a Spitfire and Bf109 (possibly referring to "Aces in Exile"), symbolizing a few decades have passed and WWII came.
The Christmas Truce has a surprise during the credit roll

Sabaton has a way of hitting you emotionally through their music and lyrics. This song got me right there. As a veteran who pulled my share of guard duty back in the day, I could empathize with the silent sentinels buried in the Alpine snow for all eternity.
Man, I like this song, it's perfect.
A ton of soldiers were killed by avalanches in that battle...and most bodies were never recovered. That's why they say they're not going anywhere, and will guard that post forever. They "saw" the rest of the battles from their Alpine heights...but can tell no one. Also, correct, Red Baron.
The snow is melting due to global warming, which is how they have recovered some bodies recently.

But... Considering the tragic fact that we just lost Meat Loaf, one of the greatest singer of ALL TIME, is there any chance for you to react to any of his work if you haven't heard him already?
His collaboration with Jim Steinman (may he rest in peace as well) is truly among the best of the best that music has to offer.
My main recommendations would be:

- I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)

Would love to see you react to Poets of the Fall - Carnival of Rust (their most well known song and the music video got voted as the best Finnish music video ever back in 2006 when the song was released). Truly an underrated band from here in Finland. Also a band with many different sounds all the way from slow melodic songs to full on rock.
Although if you want to immediately hear a song that showcases how crazy good the lead singer Marko Saaresto's voice can be (and while his vocal range might not be the most dynamic out there he is an amazing example of what you can achieve by having absolutely perfect control of your vocals especially the raw emotion that his voice is able to convey) then i recommend listening to their song Daze. His vocals on the chorus are something out of this world.
I just think that so many more people would love their music if they just ever heard them but since their from Finland it rarely happens. Although many have heard their songs in Remedy's video games Max Payne 2, Alan Wake, Quantum Brake and Control
(Also every single reactor i have seen reacting to them has been pretty much blown away by their music so i'm very confident you'll like it)
also... also... lot's of deep and meaningful lyrics and wordplay in their songs

Hey b'y! This was indeed a fantastic song commemorating a very tragic series of events in the mountain war. It really ticks the boxes for me - makes me want to march *and* pump my fists at the same time, while remembering those that fell during the conflict.
That said, I'm amazed you haven't checked out Christmas Truce. It's an epic piece of cinematic music video making which really drives home the message of the song. Not to mention the vocal treat in the end credits.
Gotta admit, not sure about this one on first listen. I think I’m on listen # 452 on my Sabaton iTunes playlist, so I guess I came around. I think they use WWII fighters to show he’s still there watching, OR it looked cool pulling up behind Hannes. I’m good either way.

Sabaton have a secure place as the band that honours the men & women who have been through war. I think that was supposed to be Von Richthoffen's (Red Baron) aircraft. Unfortunately, because I'm an aircraft nut, all I noticed was the design of it was wrong for a Fokker Dr1 Dreidecker, with the wings too long. The singer in Sabaton has some herrroic ways of rrrollin the letterrr R, which gives the songs characterr.

This may not be a video from a major band or anything. However the song is epic, and the video editing is phenomenal.
The one thing you have to keep in mind,... all the video's used to create this were cinematics for various video games. Most were from the company WarGaming ( Vreators of Worlrd of Tank's, World of Warships, and World of Warplanes. ) WarGaming was also involved with the creation of the videos for Sabaton hits .
