We need our starters to pitch until the 7th, Morejon in the 8th and Suarez to close. Burrito, Peralta, Kolek and Matsui are just so leaky they make everything scary when they pitch.

We're 1 game over .500 and tied with the Cardinals for the 2nd wild card spot. Almost every National League team has a chance at the last 2 wild card spots. I am always perplexed by this Padres team. They beat the good teams and lose to the bad teams. They hit right handed pitchers but not left handed ones. The Padres have the major's best team batting average at .261 and they are 18th in the majors in team ERA at .407 - that is bad. H.S. Kim has a ton of errors and Luis Arraez is out of position. He can't stretch (i.e. stay on the bag) when there is an errant throw. We need him in the lineup though, even if he's slumping. Our PITCHING stinks.

NastyYuNoGo ah has the right stuff as a Catcher of Thieves. He has that dna of the catcher with hands always next to the glove. Something Padres were missing from previous Catchers and we were questioning their technique of why their hands not in place next or behind the mit? But they still can hit so they just substitute when starter needs rest .

Merrill is the only high point to this year. NLCS a few years ago was something that should have happened every year for the las four with the roster we have had, Baseball is mostly luck... good and bad. We are just of the bad luck variety, unfortunately
Padres did the work and came out on top. For me that's all that matters. Tomorrow is another day.
