    As Ferguson (not Sir Alex, I assume) pointed out: points/matches in this video are in chronological order and not in any way in terms of importance or quality of the points. I intend to make this a continuous series on my channel so stay tuned for more!

    The smash at 7:04 is just unbelievable. The quick yet calm preparation for the smash and then hitting it with great power while the ball isn’t even in front of him. Crazy.

    that famous point with hewitt always reminds of that saying , u need someone on the other side of the net playing their best tennis in order for you to play your best tennis, and another thing , why does roger federer look like hes floating on the court , there really isnt anyone before him or after him that has that swagger , that style , often imitated , but never duplicated

    I believe tennis would be much more enjoyable to watch if the camera angle was like 0:50: center and not too high above head height. You can see the spins and angles so much better and it allows for much more appreciation of what these guys can do based on their opponents' shots.

      I disagree. Not because I think it isn’t optimal for the viewing experience but because for sponsors it isn’t ideal. What would be a great compromise is a similar viewing point to that of the match between nadal and Mina in 2010. You can see a lot of sponsors but also the speed and spin

      @squirrel This angle definitely much better than normal but even better in my view is more from the side with a low angle. Than the speed and effect becomes even more apparent.

    Federer at his dangerous best when made to attack on the run. He was one of thr original guys to turn defence to offence... and then came along Rafa and Novak who took that technique to the next level.

    I personally think one of Federer's greatest strengths is his modesty.
    John McEnroe once said he thought Federer was going to be remembered for his skill demonstrated in his career.
    I really agree with that.

  • @anacap007

    That last shot against Nishikori was brilliant....not because of the shot itself but the fake Fed gave him going for the open court but staying put. Watch it again, you see him faking to his right and stopping his momentum with his racquet into covering the ankle-breaker and then having plenty of time for the pass.

    How about the SOUND off the racquet every time Federer hits a forehand in these old clips

  • @thesoccergod
    @thesoccergod Pƙed 2 lety

    I thought that first FH winner against Murray was great (SUCH easy power!)...until I saw that basline-smash-winner right after. The latter's a fair candidate for being a "Federer moment". Great stuff, Raz! Hope there's a lot more to come.
    P.S: I just realized that, in the (last) point against Nishikori, Fed taps the racket (as he fakes to run to his right) before staying and running to his left. We all know what a fair player Fed is, but given that the tap happened _before_ Nishikori hit his volley, could it be constued as "obstruction"? Also, the tap seemed deliberate (because it seemed unnecessary)...which is another matter than perplexes me. Has anyone got an answer?

    • @accretionescapee
      @accretionescapee Pƙed 2 lety

      Maybe not really obstruction or distraction but definitely a slightly sneaky tactic, made to make Nishikori go to the right, to the sound. But, maybe it was subconscious in Rogers behalf or he was off balance
