- Thy Strong Word
Thy strong Word did cleave the darkness;
At Thy speaking it was done.
For created light we thank Thee
While Thine ordered seasons run
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia without end!
Lo, on those who dwelt in darkness,
Dark as night and deep as death,
Broke the light of Thy salvation,
Breathed Thine own life-giving breath.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia without end!
Thy strong Word bespeaks us righteous;
Bright with Thine own holiness,
Glorious now, we press toward glory,
And our lives our hopes confess.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia without end!
From the cross Thy wisdom shining
Breaketh forth in conqu'ring might;
From the cross forever beameth
All Thy bright redeeming light.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Praise to Thee who light dost send!
Alleluia without end!
Give us lips to sing Thy glory,
Tongues Thy mercy to proclaim,
Throats to shout the hope that fills us,
Mouths to speak Thy holy name.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
May the light which Thou dost send,
Fill our songs with alleluias,
Alleluias without end!
God the Father, light-creator,
To Thee laud and honor be.
To Thee, Light from Light begotten,
Praise be sung eternally.
Holy Spirit, light-revealer,
Glory, glory be to Thee.
Mortals, angels, now and ever
Praise the Holy Trinity!
Text: Martin H. Franzmann - Hudba

This was the opening hymn at church this past Sunday. One of my favorites, for it was used in our Pastor's ordination last year. Thank you for sharing it, and if you do not know, LCMS member here also. Thanks for sharing the others also.
I like this one as I was rasied Lutheran and hear it many times and I believe it to be on of the most compelling songs in the hymnal. Great job by the way you are a talented musician. There is one called "In You is Gladness" maybe is would be possible to to it as welll thanks and good job you are the lords servant indeed.
May God Bless You!

wonderful cover.... :) one of my favs in our worship services
@Ilikadasauce Thank you! I found this one especially tricky to sing and play simultaneously. I had to practice a long time! I'm glad you enjoyed it. God's blessings to you, too!
adorable..
@MvMatYourService I will keep this in mind the next time I am tempted to whip out my electric guitar for a new, rad version of "A Mighty Fortress."
Wow. I think I love you.
BTW, are you alto or soprano, please?
@MvMatYourService That Frank Hart and angel Echo version is terrible. I play electric guitar but come on...that was too over the top and more like a show off instead of praising God.
