  • I think we are all influenced by our work to make certain choices in our personal life. In this video I share 4 things that I apply to situations across the board that I do because of my experiences as a therapist.
    I also want to make it clear that my opinions reflect the deepest respect for people's experiences and I am not minimizing struggling and suffering of people, particularly at the hands of someone else, in any way. This is intentionally a very short video and cannot encompass all the nuances of any topic. There's always more to say and there's always a possible exception to the rule, and I am aware of that. More details will come in future videos with future topics.
    I hope today's video helps you to Get Back to You!

    Very interesting video and great tips! This topic is a fantastic idea that I’ve never seen anyone do a video on before. But to see how a therapist changes their lives based on all of the education about mental health, communication, relationships, etc, plus the years of experience in speaking with and really studying people is truly invaluable. You guys probably see more hurting people than most, and learn from those experiences what things are best to say or not to say in given situations and what things really are beneficial or harmful in people’s day to day lives. There’s a wealth of knowledge there to learn from and I’m grateful that you have shared your takeaways with the CZcams Community! New subscriber here and look forward to seeing more of your videos!

    This is a really good list and I agree with everything you said. For me, I believe it is important to establish safe boundaries in all your conversations. If after a long period of time someone wants to share something difficult then you have set the context.
    I got to the other side of a multi year MDD that included 2 hospital visits with the help of a fantastically good therapist. This included some periods of 2x meetings a week, and believe me his schedule was very full. I agree that it is pointless for people to throwing around terms from the DSM-II, toxic behavior should not be tolerated from anyone.
    I have some very difficult ongoing alcohol abuse circumstances with my family and on more than one occasion women have made me very uncomfortable asking me about these things, especially when they have obviously not experienced these things in their lives.

      Thank you for sharing about yourself and I'm glad my video resonated with you. I agree as well that sometimes because people may be judgmental you don't want to share some personal information, which is another layer of asking personal information; it's not just about your emotional reaction in the moment.
      I hope your mental health journey continues to be fruitful, and thank you again for sharing it. :)

    Δε μπορεις να ξεκινας τη θεραπευτικη σου, πρώτα απ'ολα σβήνοντας ΟΛΟΥΣ τους ακροατές. Καποιος θα πρέπει να παρακοθουλησει, τουλάχιστον. Μηπως εχεις σκοπό να το συνεχισεις με νοηματική; δεν καταλάβαμε. ποιους καλείς. Ναι;;;;;
