Growing up in a time and place when a Bach recording was rare ,I am SO glad to have lived long enough to be able to access such fine performances of so much and varied music...who says there are no miracles ?......

Another miracle is being blessed with a good tenor voice, having learned to read music, and to perform the B-minor Mass under the direction of a conductor like Jordi Savall. This isn't to say that there aren't other fine conductors, but performing under Mr Savall's direction never fails to make me feel that we might just be given grace to join the heavenly chorus. And to think there are people who resort to opioids for a high.

Words cannot describe how much I adore Bach and this piece in particular, not only is his music a grand example of beauty and craftsmanship, it is like going on an exploration. With the rich, multi-layered, and fine-tuned counterpoint it is as if the music is a long lost cathedral and you alone are charged with exploring it to uncover its hidden treasures.

the soul is where you think/feel and do (Intellect/emotion/volition). The spirit is where you experience God and communicate with God....here, I would venture to say you mean the spirit rather than soul. Intuition, communion and conscience are the functions of the spirit and that is what I think you meant?

He is Máté Balázs hungarian chellist, I love his playing on chello, indescribable, so unworldly, so intense, his performance touch my heart so much every time. Thank you!

I thought Gardiner could not be matched in this. I was wrong.

Utterly and completely BEAUTIFUL! Savall a chosi l'abbaye de Fontfroide - un lieu d'une beaute incroyable tout plein de memoires... the whole piece is utterly brilliant.

To the video editor and people in charge of including the landscape clips (example 32:20): very nice! It helps illustrating Bach's message (/ religion's message).
I also try to illustrate Bach's music on my channel, using movie clips.
