Just picked up my first 4wd 3 weeks ago, definitely inspiring to see one being built and how different theUK way of building them is compared to the Aussie way
Doing good. Recommend dont block access to vehicles original electrics. was sorting something on my 300 tdi 90 own for 14 ish years found a egr control box under the cubby box, glad I never drilled down through the cubby box (assuming its still working).

I did the exact same thing when I removed my rear view mirror. Pulled it off and looked at it for a few seconds haha

If your ever thinking engine swap, look into a M57 swap with 8HP box. Its been done and the results are amazing. 400bhp 800nm with a super reliable engine and box.
Maybe put a light on each side for when the nights start to draw in you can see down the side through trails ect 👌🏻

@@boqer123 Would definitely recommend the Bealach na Bà pass - mental piece of road. Other than that, basically anywhere on the west coast is stunning! We went east to west and it just kept getting better
@@boqer123 I did it in April and definitely do east to west as you’ll want to spend most of your time in the west. Some highlights were driving the super sketchy road around the coigach peninsula and then looking down over the summer isles, Corrieshalloch falls for a mad bouncy bridge over a gorge and getting the seafood platter at Shieldaig Bar & Coastal Kitchen. Detouring off into the middle of the highlands for the forests is cool, Achness falls are awesome

Bang on.
You need diff and gearbox breather extension tubes if your wading in water, without they will fill with water and you'll have to change the oil each time to get the water out , the tubes run up the side of the snorkel.
Already got them bud just haven’t fitted them yet haha

Flat heads should only be to adjust carbs. They are horrible when holding anything on.

You kno the metal edges of the holes you drilled will rust because you didn’t prime/paint them..
Roof rack and body of defender is aluminium dw, doesn’t rust
Just gonna say but the metrics you used for the spots was shocking 🤣, 2.8mm between each spot? Just under 3cm
Doesn't matter I see what you've done you've then times it by 10 for the rack 🤣
It was 2.8mm for my 140mm diagram which translated to 28cm on the rack haha

@@boqer123 No hate but I know I'd prefer a collapsed sun that lights up from here to lands end compared to lanterns that focus on one spot. Each to their own I guess you do you :)
