I go to pick up my new (to me) hilux surf at the end of the week that’s pretty clean and well spec’d, but watching that thing get lose in those trails is making me look at big nobblies already.

Your landy series made my buy myself an 89 110 a couple years back. Had to move it on as it wasn’t a practical city daily but these vids make me miss it a lot!

Had to be stu truck I would take just for the pure send he done on RED LANE seen truck on 38” tyres struggle more than that land cruiser fair play big man.
The Shorty for sure would be my pick, I'm from oz and we actually don't see many of those dun up for the bush. love the vid lads keep it up.

110” wheelbase is tricky for laning. It’s long enough to ground out on a lot of things. Only way round it is big lift, big tyres and a 1.2 transferbox from a discovery, or re-gear the diffs with new crown wheel and pinion👌🏻
Discovery 1 2 transfer box would actually make it worse with big tyres, Defender 1.4 transfer is lower geared than the Disco so will pull better with big diameter tyres, people fit a Disco box because it's higher geared and drops your revs when cruising. The lowest geared 1.6 transfer box would be from a 2.5 n/a ex army diesel defender but it will be screaming it's nuts off when on road.
All 230 transfer boxes have the same ratio gears in low range anyway so it won't make any difference in low range.
If you wanted the lowest gearing in hi range you'd need an ex military 2.5 na 1.6 transfer box and 110 ex mil gearbox, the main gearbox has lower 1st and 2nd gears to help the gutless na pull trailers

The Toyota Land Cruiser that Rory has got for me! Seems like the best out of the box package to get into green laning straight away! Which after watching this video has made me want to get into it 😂 to be fair your 328i, the Land Cruiser 8series and the Leon cupra would be a dream set of cars for me!
Do love a defender but giving a choice the Land Cruiser is king

The defender always has a soft spot in my heart being I watched you guys build it, however it’d have to be the Hilux surf as that’s what my mum had when I was a kid

Has to be Andy's land cruiser for me. An old friend of mine used to own one and we'd occasionally (when it wasn't broke) do some do some off-roading in our younger days. Great memories, good times.. even if most where spent fixing the bloody thing!

Diff lock alley. Amazing lane 👌or red lane as most know it by.
Will have the defender but have two sets of wheels and tyres one set for your all terrain and camping and another set for when you want to send it off roading 35s !! Sick video this was !

Well used to love the 130 defenders but now it’s all about the 80 series in fact so much so I’m flying back from Paris Monday to pick up a 1995 4.2td not even seen it yet but looks OEM clean can’t wait to drive it back
