It was Daniel for me too. Was reading Daniel and the Revelation by Uriah Smith.
God is Omniscient, and foreknows the thoughts of every angel and every human being before they even think it.
Jesus said to Peter, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.
Jesus said that Judas will betray him before it happened.
God also foreknew that Adam and Eve would eat of the forbidden tree of knowledge of good and evil before it happened.
It is written, the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
He had redemption planned for them before they were created.
In(Isa.46:10) God declares the end from the beginning, in other words he plays everything backwards, from Revelation to Genesis.
God also foreknew that Lucifer would rebel against him even before Lucifer was created.
However God had a plan.
It is written, what the enemy means for evil, God means for good, so that he can save many people.
Nothing happens without God's
permission and foreknowledge.
"Nothing happens without God's permission and foreknowledge." Does that include the rape and murder of children? If that is part of an "all powerful" being's plan, it's a really piss poor choice to worship it.

Wait... your imaginary friend KNOWS that bad things will happen, and specifically which bad things will happen. Further it has the ability to change things and doesn't. The ONLY conclusion you can make is that you worship a monster that knows specifically which children will be raped and murdered, can do something about it and chooses to watch instead. This is the act of a monster, not worthy of your praise.
So why are you here? Each of us has been given freewill and its our freewill that does all the crap . God know all and has prepared a future for those who by freewill say yes please and those that say no thanks go to a place they have chosen. If God interfered in all our actions then there would be no freewill. Those who have said yes please God works all thing for their good. You see this life as vital but this life is just a place to say yes please or no thanks
