With the world getting smaller and more turbulent, the time couldn’t be more appropriate for an iconic British satirical take on global events. Produced by Avalon (Taskmaster, The Russell Howard Hour, Catastrophe, Breeders, Last Week Tonight With John Oliver) throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, over 100 puppets have already been developed by socially distanced teams of artists ready for launch, including: Adele, Angela Merkel, Baby Yoda, Barack Obama, Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Boris Johnson, Boris Baby, The Johnson Dog, Brad Pitt, Camilla Duchess of Cornwall, Chrissy Teigen, Covid-19, Cristiano Ronaldo, Dominic Cummings, Dominic Raab, Donald Trump, Dwayne Johnson, Ed Sheeran, Elon Musk, Elton John, Emmanuel Macron, Greta Thunberg, Grimes, Gwyneth Paltrow, Harry Styles, Idris Elba, Ivanka Trump, Jacinda Ardern, James Corden, Jeff Bezos, Joe Biden, Jürgen Klopp, Kanye West, Keir Starmer, Kim Kardashian, Lewis Hamilton, Mark Zuckerberg, Matt Hancock, Meghan Duchess of Sussex, Melania Trump, Michael Gove, Michelle Obama, Narendra Modi, Oprah Winfrey, Piers Morgan, The Pope, Prince Andrew, Prince Charles, Prince Harry, Prince William, Priti Patel, The Queen, Richard Branson, Rishi Sunak, RuPaul, Taylor Swift, Tiger Woods, Tyson Fury, Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, all falling under the show’s legendary gaze.
A next generation of satirical writers and voice artists are working with established talent to drive a new wave of ‘public service satire’. Writers on the show include: Al Murray, Bert Tyler-Moore & George Jeffrie (The Windsors), Bill Odenkirk (The Simpsons), Brona C. Titley (The Tracey Ullman Show), David X. Cohen (The Simpsons), Gemma Arrowsmith (The Tracey Ullman Show), Jason Hazeley & Nico Tatarowicz (Charlie Brooker’s Screenwipe/Murder in Successville), Karl Minns (Russell Howard’s Good News), Keisha Zollar (Astronomy Club), Laura Major (Famalam), Matt Forde, Patric Verrone (The Simpsons), Phil Wang, Richard Herring, Sophie Duker (Frankie Boyle’s New World Order) and Travis Jay (Dave Chapelle and Friends) with many more joining the growing team. Voice artists include: Billy West (Futurama), Debra Stephenson (The Impressions Show), Debra Wilson (Family Guy), Guz Khan (Man Like Mobeen), Indira Varma (Game of Thrones), Jess Robinson (The Imitation Game), John DiMaggio (Futurama), Lewis MacLeod (Dead Ringers), Lobo Chan (Killing Eve), Luke Kempner (The Imitation Game), Matt Forde (Unspun) and Phil LaMarr (Pulp Fiction), with many more joining as the puppet cast grows.
The fact they got the real Suella Braverman in for the show is awesome!
I'm looking forward to the 'Making of' documentary where they show how simple makeup and lighting tricks allowed her to be on stage without turning the audience to stone.

You dont need to explain a quote like that. You just took all the brevity and wit out of it by overexplaining your reference. Just put "-Mel Brooks" and leave it at that.
If you have to identify your reference, you didnt make a good one and you overexplained. Let the people that get it, get it, and the ones that dont arent witty enough. But putting all those details cuts the knees out and your wit is lost.
@@gsesquire3441 I disagree because I posted this quote the way you suggested months ago in a CZcams comment and someone replied something like "Who the hell is Mel Brooks and what's with this quote? I've seen it in other comments.". Other people replied to him with an explanation, before I got to it.
@@davea6314 But the point of references are to have a sly understanding with those "in the know" by making the reference. Not everybody is going to get it nor should they. Thats what makes it interesting and fun for those in on it. Overexplaining it for the rubes ruins what you were trying to do. Its like if a stand up comic stopped to explain every punchline. Youre doing it wrong. Its supposed to be semi cryptic and people can be like "I see what you did there, clever". Not have it explained out and ruined lol

Those original earlier shows were groundbreaking... very memorable. Spitting Image can be revived at anytime as there will always be someone in the limelight worth taking the mickey out of.

Highly unlikely. Small-scale limited-run west end shows such as this are almost never filmed, only big productions like Les miserables for example.
@Atheist Orphan Maybe not. One of the Ivy League schools filmed an EXCELLENT version of "Peter and the Wolf" with period carved puppets and full orchestration. The ballet, "The Red Shoes" was another. I used those DVDs, and others, in my classroom for decades. If C-19 taught us anything, it's the value of a good home theater set up.
@@onemercilessming1342 Very doubtful. Dvds just dont sell anymore. Even major netflix shows dont get dvd release anymore because people dont buy them. Spitting Image is very niche and they actually just recently got bumped off of streaming. I think the only way you can catch this show is physically being in theater sadly.

More and more companies are abandoning physical media because the demand has simply bottomed out. 30's and under just straight up dont want to buy them anymore and the companies react thusly. Its basic supply and demand. Even Disney is slowly easing out because supposedly they lost a large fortune printing unsold star wars dvds and blurays in the last trilogy.

Possibly but I doubt they will release any full performance videos while the show is still running in the theater. They want to push ticket sales and make people have to come to the theater to see the show. Giving people access to watch it at home could hurt their ticket sales so its pretty unlikely.
