Fantastic yacht! I really love the light, neutral tones combined with all those lovely windows. It's also nice to see a proper galley on a 40 footer! Just lovely.
Nick I really love these aft cabin layouts, so practical for two couples or a small family. I've mentioned before that I spent several months on a Matthews 42 with an identical layout and can attest to how spacious and private this layout feels. Beautiful yacht and hand built to boot, what's not to love? Great tour as always!
Thanks Nick. I love these aft cabin boats.
The galley on this one is amazing. Love all the proportions of the different sections. You could spend a week or a year in comfort in this one.
I would happily live on this boat.
A hybrid electric version for inland use would make this perfect.
Great job Nick. Love getting a bit of history on vessels we don’t usually see in U.S.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
What a brilliant vessel! I love how the back cockpit is raised giving you full standing head room in the aft owners cabin. Superb!
I really like this boat, for 40 feet, it gives a sense of real spaciousness. I can see being on this for a few weeks at a time.
Great to see that modern decor trends have arrived in these fantastic boats.
Greetings from Mexico, nice boat!!! Thanks Nick.
Hey there Mexico! 😃
Aft cabin my favorite layout.
That is a lovely little yacht, great layout and lots of natural light. I really like this one. Great tour as always Nick thank you.
My pleasure! 🙂
A 'Right Price' for serious entry into cruising the channel or the Med. Everything that is needed and nothing that is not needed.
Hi Nick. Love the aft cabin version. Lots of natural light. Great tour thanks 😊
My pleasure!
Be a nice live aboard, as most aft cabin layouts tend to be, I suppose. It looks like the forward cabin has double the hanging lockers, but I think I saw a door on he bulkhead just aft of the aft head. I think I'd be very happy on this "little" boat. Thanks, Nick.
All the boat you need Nick…… aft cabins rule in my opinion….. brought up on a diet of broads cruisers, Brooms and Moonrakers, love a Haines….🙂 lovely build quality, reminding me of top end caravan style…… light and airy.
I find the raised cockpit over the aft cabin, just as pleasant to ride in as an open aft cockpit boat….. maybe more suited to lower speeds, estuary and river, rather than belting around the coast…. engine access is always more awkward, particularly removal as it usually means interfering with the cabin roof or in some cases the flybridge…. However, although not immune, they seem to last better without major intervention nowadays …..
Another great tour as ever….. 🙂
Good Morning from Chicago!
Good night Indonesia
Hey Chicago! 😃
Aft cabin with raised wheelhouse and spacious interior? Yes please. Oh, and just Forty Feet? OK on that also. Very well appointed boat. Neither gaudy or overly trimmed, just for the sake of using wood either. Less moorage for lots of room. If you don't live in a rainy or cold place (which this will easily accommodate) there is ample sun drenched deck spaces as well, with side entry through the chained up railings. COMPARATIVELY - this s a bargain priced unit. Thanks to the Haines Teams and to you Nick, for rooting out another gem among the barnacles.
It's a pleasure!
40' ??? !!! WOW - Reminds me of a Hatteras 43 that grew up. What a great boat!
Hi Nick, And finaly on your chanel the Haines 400 a beautiful yacht with 2 cabins one at the bow and a aft cabine on the back each with there own head I like the salon give you a home feeliing and the galley to the bow and a nice and cozy dinning space Thank you Nick a great show ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Many thanks!
I absolutely love that 40 footer. I can't believe it has two cabins as big as they are.
Very cool, yeah aft cabin just seems smarter, more please 👍
VERY Beautiful Haines Yacht Perfect for family trip and few friends on it. BIG THANKS NICK FOR THE GREAT VIDEO ALWAYS 👍👍👍👍👍👍🚤🚤⛵⛵
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
@@AQUAHOLIC Brilliant as always 👍👍
That is a very manageable size yatch for a couple. Very nice.
Very nice layout. I would personally have exactly the same configuration as there is the separate shower cubicle in the master. Very airy almost like an atrium over the kitchen and dinette. Displacement hull and single engine would be my option, you don’t need to go anywhere faster than those speeds. Very good build quality although I don’t know if it’s 660 k good quality.
OMG, I fall a little bit in love every time you tour an aft cabin yacht. It really makes good sense, at least on smaller boats. Great tour as always, thanks😀
Our pleasure!
Thank you Nick. This Haines is very nice & accommodating especially for the size.
My pleasure!
Lovely! Nice to see small family builders and their attention to detail. Love the layout - very usable. Thanks Nick!
My pleasure!
Great yacht for 40 feet. Great tour again Nick, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
One can hear clear enthusiasm in Nick's voice when touring these aft cabin boats. Smuggler's Blues III instead of Fairline or Princess?
For it's size, this is a cracker.Love the layout and sizes within.....2 thumbs up.
I really like this. A lot. Thanks very much Nick.
My pleasure!
Wonderful little boat for a more relaxed cruising of Europe's rivers and canals. Looks very comfy! Thanks for the tour!
Our pleasure!
OOO, I smell another great start to the day! Good looking boat.
Enjoy!
Practical looking little yacht, a lot of cabin for a 40 footer. I'm not a fan of aft-cabin layouts since the main deck seems too high off the water and you don't get the picture windows and scenic vistas (I'd rather be "on" a boat than "in" one), and the engine access is too awkward... however considering the spacious master cabin they provide it'd be worth considering and I could see myself in this one for sure. Love the extended galley. The cockpit is in a really sensible location and the folding radar arch is probably a must-have in a boat this size so you get the benefit of inland waterways with low bridges.
That would be an excellent livable aboard. And I like the idea of the manufacturers put a spot for the fenders
Very nice boat and a lot more contemporary inside that I was expecting for a "traditional" builder. But, does someone need to tell them they forgot to put the windows in the forward cabin?
Just noticed that, very strange !
Love the aft-cabins. It’s a shame so few people are making them these days.
I'm sure we've not had this for a while now, but… SB3, anyone? This boat seems to have Nick's signature stamped all over it!
There’s a reason why you haven’t heard it for a while - the old gag has been flogged to death over the years and most people have got over it. Well done for trying to keep it going though mate 👍🏻
Nah, this one isn’t Miami Vice enough for Nick and Marianne 😎
Thanks again Nic. Excellent layout and all in 40 ft. amazing.
I love the "Over hia" at 0:55 😍
😄
Nice. I'll be trading in my lilo (footpump supplied). It's got a puncture so will probably get a knocked down price for it. The cheek!
Voilà une superbe'unité'...très bien pensée...magnifiques aménagements..cela fait vraiment rêver....!!!!!
Very well kitted out.I could be pretty happy aboard.I like the aft cabin as leaves so much living room area compared to other 40' ships.
This is a boat I could live a board in !! Lovely boat Nick !
Hi Nick...superbe boat and the quality-price is also awsome. Huuge hugs from Colombia
Hi Nick, a great 🏴🇬🇧 boat in my favoured configuration, galley down, aft main bedroom. A sensible boat for UK waters. Price is very reasonable too (unknown year?) and a well cared for craft. Cheers DougT
If there is no year in the title it's because it's new. 🙂
@@AQUAHOLIC Wowwww that makes it even better value for money✔️👍
Intriguing. This would be fantastic for a solo or couple.
I love this boat. Would like a dishwasher. Love your shows.
Can’t believe how similar it is to my Broom Ocean 38. Great video, it gave me lots of great ideas for my interior refit. Love the grey upholstery and carpets.
Broom Ocean 38 is a splendid boat! 🙂
Now thats some boat accomodation for 40ft. Love to have one. Not in my price I'm m afraid. Great tour Nick.
A nice and practical Boat with for 40 ft a lot of living space. For sure for a retired couple. Though not cheap so build quality will be very good I assume.
Brilliant boat and great local (to me) business. Sales team @Norfolk Yacht Agency are very good too. I think they sold a nice Jeanneau once 😁
Brilliant tour as ever to warm up a cold December Friday!
Haha, yes they are and yes they did! 😄
love this one Nick!... thanks, Merry Xmas and H N Y....
Same to you!
A great looking boat, and good to see an alternative and highly practical interior layout. They just need to replace that top windscreen surround/divider with a black frame, not aluminium, which makes it look dated.
I really like these aft cabin boats.
Fantastic use of space! Love it!
Love an aft cabin layout.
That is alot of boat for the money, would be a lovely live aboard with a galley that size.
Nice one, Love to see a few river boats like the ones on the Norfolk Broads
Excellent boat!! Great tour! I like it's layout -- so cozy, great windows!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’d be tempted to put a height adjustable table in the saloon for extra sleeping
go Norfolk Uk , a proud and extensive boat building history exists there. I was underwhelmed until I saw the aft cabin as I forgot it was coming then . Bam , winner . Moor in reverse I reckon, which is often the best method anyway, , as looks like probably great stern visibility . No affiliation to Haines boats in Australia as far as I know
lovely boat
Nick I like that a lot! Great boat, fantastic layout
What a nice layout.
Perfect boat for the Broads & other inland waterways, very nice indeed. Good tour Nick 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Thanks for upload and share your Yacht Tour & Superyacht Tour video
CHEER and wish you very HAPPY CHRISTMAS & best wish for 2023 ,
Same to you!
Nice boat Nick thank you and the other half for keeping us entertained this year also I caught ocd you moved the wheel . Have super Christmas and happy new year all the best Andrew
You too! 😃
Something about Norfolk boat builders knowing how to build aft cabin boats, never know why it’s not taken up by more builders, it’s an obvious solution. Nice joinery, craftsmanship. Great tour as always.
A nice respectable little boat that looks comfortable. Thanks for the review
Our pleasure!
...And dry socks too!
Good quality yacht, as far as I can see. Great.
Broom did lovely aft cabin boats like that
Spacious vessel
Hey Nick that's a fantastic yacht from Haines and looking in "as new condition" I'm so sorry I missed the livestream but I have watched it since and I am delighted that Marrianne is joining you in Aquaholic because you two are perfect together, have a great day bud 👍
Thank you! You too. 🙂
Loverly 40 foot boat. Love the larger galley area, I think I would go the same way if I was buying this sort of vessel. Thanks Nick for the video.
You're very welcome! 🙂
For a forty footer, that's a great boat. Sure, the engines are not very "get-at-able" but that's a compromise I could live with. Thanks for sharing, Nick.
Unbelievably good value
Nice one as usual Nick ❤️
Thanks!
What Jay from ship's life said it was called, he called it a shoilet, and that's a shower toilet combo
British build boat craftmastership at its excellent very best. Absolutely surprisingly no space spared for such a small family boat, as the galley, the guest room and the owners cabin are fantastic.
Perfect live aboard,in every way.
My dream boat for the Thames and UK coastal waters!
Excellent accomodations on this one. One small thing that irks me a little on a lot of smaller vessels is the overkill on engines. I think most can do with much less engine and still get plenty fast enough and have a longer operating range and time, and also increase affordability. I sometimes get torn between loving the spacious aft cabims and the loss of flybridge, but smaller vessels have to make some sacrifices.
There's a lot of interior space for a 40-foot boat. I hate losing the outside space, but I guess you have to compromise somewhere. Very nice.
This and the Northman on my list, great UK boat, would love to know the drafts of the boats you cover as very important if not near a deep harbour. Love this one.
Lovely boat
Aft cabin, all day, every day!
Lovely - TY, Nick ;-)
My pleasure!
Im loving Nick's videos, but one day ill like to see him change to "google glases" or something like it...
Or a 360cam. Would be lovly.
Not as glamorous as your recent tours, but a worthy boat all the same.
I lived in Norfolk for several years at one time, and I think I remember them as sharing Broom mouldings at one time (Aquafibre), hence the family resemblance.
They were a cheaper alternative to Broom Boats, but with Broom now being defunct, have the market for aft cabin boats pretty much to themselves in the UK.
It has a simplicity harking back to the 1990's which will attract its own niche of buyers.
It’s Smugglers 3 again. Lovely boat for 2 with guests nice and roomy
I think I want to live on a M.Y. rather than a S.Y.
Excellent job as always 👏
Thank you!
Beautiful baot have you and marianne ever thought about a week on one on norfolk broads a much slower pace of life
Very nice boat and indeed, the aft cabin layout do give it much more accommodation, than you would expect. With that kind of price however, you also really need to be a motor boat entusiast and hate sails, if you pick this over many same price full live aboard ready sailing catamarans in the 45 foot range, as for instance Seawind 1370, 1260 and 1160 or even a handful of trimarans from Neel, like 43, 45 and 47, which is all priced in this range. I simply could not choose this small power yacht over any of those options, if I got the money.
If you prefer a sailing catamaran then you're definitely better off buying one of those. 🙂
It's no Gulf Craft Majesty 175 just as well if you wanted to take in the inland waterways, for that you couldn't find a no better 40fter, I could see myself living on this boat and cruising the inland waterways of the UK or Europe but for me if going for a 40ft boat for primary sea use I'd struggle to put this before a Galeon 40 fly one of my favs for that size. Mr Burnham sir thanks for another grand tour cheers ❤️ Aquaholics as ever 👌🖖
You're very welcome!
Aft cabins just make too much sense....and that's not a bad price. Good coastal cruiser...and we have quite a bit of coast to cruise, here in the states. Like it.
Nice lay out….. 👌🏼
I like the Haines boats. This aft cabin 40 is a nice simple cruiser. I myself like the 32. It fits my needs better. US builders think everyone wants huge center consoles. Shame
You didn't show the swim platform 😞 I was curious to see how much room it had with the aft cabin
What a beautiful little boat
My go-kart has a 212cc yanmar engine on it they make just about any type of engine you can think of and it's a petrol engine
