Some immigrants come over to the states and talk down on Black Americans. Now, a lot of them are starting to realize everything we told them about the history of this country is true. Unfortunately, most are stuck here getting the black experience; and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for them to cope.

EXCELLENT job Maddux! I keep telling family members that we are doom if we don't take retirement seriously n as black people learn from others mistakes. I also explain Caucasian transferred home out there name into a Trust b4 5yrs prior to retirement age of 65 in order to get benefits. I tell family to take out money out retirement n buy a house in Jamaica because even when u finish paying for ur house in US if your retirement can't pay taxes n other bills home can be sold for taxes. Kids dump parents in retirement homes. Instead we must creat a trust with savings + social security n family memeber can pay for someone to take care of us in our OWN home n live a better quality of life with help. This is serious n we as black people need to look into future n save ourselves.
The lawyer told my Mom that a trust would cost $5K and the argument finished right there because my siblings said they are not paying for it. I would rather the government take the house than pay for that trust so they can get dead left.
@shayscott7498 wow...I paid for my Trust and it was worth EVERY penny for that freedom, safety net and God forbid my kids do not have to go through probate or pay taxes in case they want to sell my homes.

Alot of the issues is that, most of the times family bring others into the struggle or don’t have a proper pathway for building wealth. No knowledge of how money work, tax advantage planning, legacy & estate planning. The Lack of financial literacy, lack of exposure to resources. As a financial professional I’ve come across so many clients who have no plans other than social security. There is a growing underserved community. Think about this? If there is a government shut down for 3months no social security checks being cut how many ppl would survive ? I agree with you it is better to work hard, careful planning is needed. The level of entitlement is crazy. Compare the Caribbean community Vs the Asian or Arabic communities. where they bring family here to operate business and then start their own later. Group economics is a must to become truly free.
These people mindset is very different -- they come to take advantage of opportunities. Having said that, I've been in Asia and lived in the middle east and they have their socio-economic issues too. In every culture you are going to have people at the lower rung of the financial ladder who soak up resources.
Many people won't have the choice to return to Jamaica. Have you seen the price of real estate lately? It's not like prices will come down. They will be stuck in the north, no matter how much they want to return.

I can understand if someone is sick and needs assistance. However, if you are healthy, regardless of age, you can go back to school and educate yourself in a marketable skill. The nursing and transportation fields are always looking for workers. People can also create their own businesses. We can achieve our goals with hard work and commitment. If people are legal in the first world countries there are opportunities to make their lives better. Thank you for presenting this thought-provoking topic. Way to go!
I agree with you 99% this is the new generation of show off without working for it. They're going to wake up too old to work and nothing to show for it

Im 39 n behind. Im behind but as of next month im starting to buy bricks i got my car n land. Zimbabwe im coming. America was only good for robotic life n bill paying. I wanna retire at40.
America is very expensive. Most people can’t survive on social security alone. Unfortunately you have put more money away for your retirement, so you don’t end up going right back to work.
That's why am saying if you can buy a piece of land in Jamaica or if you have a piece already build something home or if you have it already give thanks
You have some truth about where you are living but don't paint a picture as if Jamaica is absolute poverty, not it is not. I born and grow in Jamaica and never experience poverty, homelessness and racism. Many of my friends grow up in Jamaica , make a lot out of life and acquired significant assets. Life is what you make it in Jamaica. Remember that we are supplying the first world country with: teacher, nurses and doctors. You are out of touch bro.
I agree. I find that most Jamaicans speak based on their own personal experiences, then claim to represent all Jamaicans. This guy came from poverty, so he assumes that every Jamaican is from the same socioeconomic background, which is so far from the truth. They don’t understand that most people who leave their countries for better are usually the poor ones.
Don't depend on noone. I'm 100% disabled through the US Military. I don't owe no one in Jamaica nothing. They don't care about you until you come to something, most people will sit and watch the next person win, and do nothing, and want someone else to take care of you. I don't understand this parasitic behavior.
Why do you believe lazy people want to go to school? Their objective is NOT TO WORK. I have a niece, extremely bright, born in America, who decided it would be better for her and her child to go into a shelter so they can be first in line to get government housing. Gave up living with her Mom in a middle class neighborhood for that. Some of these kids are just bad seed.
But if you are collecting social security. Remember it’s your money they saved from you jobs Giving it back to you on a monthly basis to make sure spending is lasting So what’s the problem by then you should be settled in a permanent place for living
If it was your money they put down for you, how does the government raise and drop the payments as they have a mind? The truth is, you are paying into a system that is paying those on social security now. By the time you get to retirement age, there might be none to get or the payments drop so low it will not keep a roof over your head or you will be hungry for three weeks out of the month. Learn the system you are living in and don't rely on how you *think* it works.
No, social security is paid for by the people who are currently working for the retirees. So you are paying for the people who are retired right now. If there are not enough payers and too many retirees, then they have to cut the benefits or monthly amounts. That’s the weakness of SSI. 401K or 403B or Roth IRA are retirement accounts you pay into and they grow into money you can pull from. That is money you put in and can draw from when retired.
People have been programmed to believe it's their job to take care of people back home. When it's far from the truth, if you cannot help yourself, you cannot help others

Some immigrants come over to the states and talk down on Black Americans. Now, a lot of them are starting to realize everything we told them about the history of this country is true. Unfortunately, most are stuck here getting the black experience; and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for them to cope.
Amazingly, they do better than Americans
Those immigrants are Hypocrites
That's what they get, stop fleeing and fix your own land
@bootnazz1786 I'm Liberian, my country was one of the best in the world until US planned and f it up. Moral of the story is US is tied to every world problem. We don't run here because we feel like it.

👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 well said. Its the same mentality, situation here in England...
Even British people are leaving for shores abroad, Costa Rica, Tenerife. Spain, France, Portugual, Greece, even the Caribbean.
Cost of living is cheaper they can get a beautiful property much bigger thsn the UK and live comfortably. Hell, some are even heading to Africa!
U r speaking a lot of truths. However, have u visited Jamaica lately? The most foreigners that have businesses get police protection, not so much the natives. There is a lot of extortion and killing. The healthcare system sucks, if u don’t have money for private Drs ur up shit creek. I tell u what, if the old president get back in black and brown people in big trouble not to mention AI. If u r going to build in Jamaica, save ur money, go there buy ur materials sit there and watch the workers use all the materials. Come back and repeat, otherwise u will loose. It’s very rare u find a family member or a friend that’s honest.
I truly understand what you’re saying
Say ghetto and stop generalizing the whole jamaica
@@unforgetable321 I said what I said, it’s not only in the ghetto luv! I’m not from the ghetto!
@@unforgetable321Exactly. They speak from their own little personal experiences and generalize the entire Jamaica. Most Jamaicans don’t have those experiences.
What had been highlighted here is so truthful for many who file for and maintain family from overseas. Whilst that may not be the truth for others it certainly is a fact. Some come and are given every opportunity to better themselves yet they’d rather sit back and hive off of your helping them. They’d cook eat and turn down the pot and plate leaving nothing for you, they’d party and even turn you place upside down looking for what doesn’t belong to them. They disappear for weeks venturing to parts of the country not even you whom have ever visited, they’d lie to your face and treat you as a second class citizen in your own home. It’s tragic. I’m sure many have experienced these, in addition they’d tell others behind your back you are miserable while showing their teeth to your face.
I’ve seen people leave Jamaica retired went back home open their business bought a home and became target of bad minded people
There are 40,000 small businesses in Jamaica doing well and paying taxes. Not everyone is afraid.
let them keep saying crime stopping them like crime not in america or everywhere else.that not stopping me from going back home..even a fowl house will do on a piece a land.you notice how much place closing down and things getting hard?don't wait any longer until the property in jamaica get more expensive..cause people from other coutries buying up our land in Jamaica and living happy and free.

Yes er are the govt and I blame the govt because they don't push for people to get off welfare they allow them to stay on it. Instead of messing with social security it's time to drop well bodied individuals off welfare.
I agree! Imagine a certain individual let the bank take over the house instead of putting it in her two working daughters names. 😡🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀😖. Where do we learn these bad habits and poor planning skills from?
My husband and I are having this conversation, the conversation is for real
I think it’s better to go back to our native land. More/better opportunities are here in the US esp for young people but I don’t believe we should make it our home in older years. What you’re talking is facts

Your comment is very important. Financial literacy is crucial, but some Black families struggle with it.
This is best advice I have heard. I have been saying this for years.

Way to go!
We need to come together and help each other
I agree with you 99% this is the new generation of show off without working for it. They're going to wake up too old to work and nothing to show for it
I’m FBA( this isn’t going where you think! lol). All the systems you listed in the Title are systems that I told my Sisters to NOT rely on. My Sisters all work. 1 is a Homeowner. Haitians and Jamaicans have a huge advantage by having a Home Country. You guys just need to USE America as a means to boost up your homes. The Mexicans are very good about taking what they make here and Spending it at Home. Mannix here is on to something. Working in America and then Retiring in Jamrock where the money goes Further… Sadly I’m a looooooong way from retirement so I don’t know if it will be viable for me when the time comes. Heck. Social Security might not exist by the time I’m done. I’m looking at ways to boost my earnings passively so I’m not reliant on America as I age.
You can do both I think, living back home while collecting your retirement funds.got a uncle doing that right now.living his best life

There are reciprocal agreements where you can retire back home and live off the pension received from the accepting country you had migrated to.

Yes he is
You have some truth about where you are living but don't paint a picture as if Jamaica is absolute poverty, not it is not.
Yes, you are right

Why do you believe lazy people want to go to school? Their objective is NOT TO WORK. I have a niece, extremely bright, born in America, who decided it would be better for her and her child to go into a shelter so they can be first in line to get government housing. Gave up living with her Mom in a middle class neighborhood for that. Some of these kids are just bad seed.

Talk truth

You don't want to get old 🧓 in these countries.

So true mi brother!
Yes indeed
