$115,000 for a vehicle and you have to pay extra for a spare tire.
At least you can get a spare tire. $150,000 Tesla’s you cannot get a spare tire. Call a tow truck that is the life of a Tesla owner.
Rich people are their target and rich people are useless, most of them haven’t turned a wrench in their life. I love watching rich tourists fail at changing tires but most just call a tow truck
@@jackylsmith8138 Agreed and as a roadside assistance employee most all EV's are a major PITA to tow not to mention places to take them to get them fixed are VERY limited!!!
Well said, be careful though, people will troll you and call you a broke looser for the comment. I can only guess many people today truly don’t actually work hard for their money which is the only reason these fools would pay these crazy prices. 👍🏼✌🏼🇺🇸
Yeah, $5k for step lights, a spare tire, jack, and bag of crap? What a rip, c’mon gm, you’re losing big time.
Those are GMs helicopters following you guys to make sure it doesn't breakdown again.😂😂 Reminds me of when Henry was being followed on Goodfellas.😂😂
No kidding. They don’t want anyone knowing what a pos it is.
Blackhawks are search and rescue which are used in rescue scenarios in co mountains. So boulder county just knew to send sar to follow you.
I would have left it at the dealer, no way would I have taken it home. Give me back my money 💰
😂😂😂😂
Hilarious! And I love that movie, BTW.
Glad it worked out and GM got the Hummer back to y'all so quickly. My concern is, if this happened to a 'regular' person, would GM respond with the same speed and comprehensive care? Based on my recent experiences with GM dealerships, they would not.
NO NO NO
Hence why don’t buy a 110k turd
EXACTLY
No way...
Hell no! We are the “ Peons”…. GM Gave me personally all sorts of crap with my POS H2. Because of the trash I was handed from GM I went back to my first love FORD they started the game and perfected it in my opinion. My Lightning is truly a fun great truck, I will never go back to GM. Ford has been very good to me and I’ve never had issues with the service dept, and yes my previous Fords have had issues. But they were addressed quickly… unlike GM.
Would be interesting to see how that 276 range drops in the winter. Sub freezing weather will drop that range substantially.
All that energy to heat the interior, warm the batteries, electric ain't there yet.
and in sweden they have warned that we need to save energy, and there is a possibility of electric cutouts... so your car might not even be charged on the morning...
Based on the sheer size of its 200kWh battery and how inefficient it already is, probably not too much. Doubt it’ll lose more than 15-20% in the worst weather a normal person might deal with. Most EVs that get hit that hard are usually because they’re relying so hard on efficiency and relatively mid-small sized batteries, but this is already brute forcing it’s way through even the best conditions
@@leadfoot8593 sure it is! Just look to California...
Try a test up here in Northern Ontario Canada , winters are a tad chilly with temps reaching lows of -40 windchill exceeding - 50 or colder … see how far you’ll get never mind that there are very few charging stations … good luck 👍
I love how GM said it was a mere "anomaly". My problem is that a supposed " little " glitch can render this $100k off-road capable beast absolutely useless.
At a company I worked for a few years ago, the owners son placed a project bid and forgot to add one zero. Needless to say they were in the red before even stepping onto the jobsite. The owner called it a computer glitch. Did his son loss his job? Of course not. Anyone else and he would of kicked him out in a few seconds.
Should'a called Trailmater.
Right? Imagine said small “anomaly” forcing this 6,000 lb vehicle into park at 65MPH then trying to justify the software being at fault.
As a Gm mechanic, GM software is pretty crap and anomalies do happen more than you'd like. Had a brand new 2020 cadillac ct5 completely shutdown and would not start. Had it sit for 24 hours and an over the air update fixed the vehicle like nothing happened. Scanned it after and checked if anything happened and no bueno...
It’s completely useless anyways, unless you use it for groceries.
When my Chevy Bolt was getting its battery replaced due to fire hazard it took four trips to the dealer, numerous emails to GM corporate and finally the presence of the District Manager with GM Technical Assistance on the phone while they updated the vehicle’s firmware to get it properly installed. It leaves the impression that GM and its dealers have a long way to go to support software-based vehicles.
What happened to you is what many others have complained about. Dealing with GM is not really a nice experience, something they really need to improve upon.
You should have bought anything other than a Chevy. They are junk.
I swear my 22 year old, 200000 mile Oldsmobile bravada is more reliable than anything made in the last 5 years.
@@TheyreStillOutThere I have a friend that works at Hendrix Chevy in Kansas, he told me that GM has the cheapest overpriced cars on the road with the most problems.

I'm sure GMs top brass and PR team were all over this. What a colossal nightmare for them on their halo truck to breakdown, which so happens to be owned by a team with a HUGE following. I get it, things happen. But a few things: There has been a looonggg wait for these for years. They're $115K(!!!). But...$115K isn't enough because many have ADMs.
Tommy's offroad experience wasn't confidence inspiring either.(although that was GMs truck) Good luck with the ownership, TFL! Keep the content coming for us poor guys!
Stopped me from buying one. I'm back to waiting for my Rivian Max Pack number to come up
Based on the notes from the dealer it's a known issue. Why the dealer didn't issue the software update before it went out is odd unless it came out after they picked it up but for 115K truck the dealer should have called and scheduled it. For that much money concierge service is a must.
@@olebloom1641 MUCH agreed. This thing should be handled with the white-glove treatment, given the hype around it on top of the Ultium platform being so new and still trying to sway nervous buyers.
@@hellkitty1014 Exactly.
@@hellkitty1014 this is going to be the difference between legacy automakers and EV automakers. It will force the legacy companies to reevaluate and do things differently so they can compete or they face the very real possibility of going out of business in the future.
Overall I think most have done a pretty good job given that they are trying all new things moving away from ICE but there are hiccups. Of course every maker will face issues. And especially with the parts shortages and what not when they may be foregoing something or using an alternative that isn’t as good as what they would normally use. Part of the reason I’m holding off on buying an EV until more of the supply issues are resolved.
You guys are SO forgiving! That software update should have been addressed before you got your hands on this vehicle.
People eventually in time will start hacking the embedded memory just like newer windows os systems are they come out because of better security every version!! Everyone should expect over time there will be security flaws over time and you'll need to do your job and bring them to dealers

I just watched your video this morning. I want to thank you for the informative video. I also want you to know it was refreshing to see and hear how you handled a dangerous situation while experience frustration with this ordeal. It was refreshing to view and hear a video without a bunch of curse words and people acting insane. Thank you for being great role models!!!
Enjoyed this video, especially the summary of the F150 Lightning. Towing is a big issue for EV’s. There was a significant difference with the trailer attached and empty versus the trailer loaded with the ATV. It would be interesting to compare those differences with an ICE F150. I was considering the Lightning but after watching a few towing videos, realized that the reduction in range with towing is a show-stopper. If I want to pull my boat from Minneapolis into Canada, I would be concerned how to make it to the Canadian lake from International Falls with the type of road for traveling. I assume that fast charging stations could be installed but I don’t see that happening for several years. At my age, I’m not certain that I will ever be able to buy an EV that would make practical and economical sense. Minnesota requires that EV owners submit mileage driven in an EV annually so that road taxes can be assessed (to make up for loss of tax revenue at gas pumps). I think it is great technology but not really affordable for most families, especially with the high inflation that is happening right now. Also, gas prices have been artificially escalated by current gov’t policies cutting oil licenses on Federal lands and the nonsense that the world is going to end in 30 years if we don’t drastically reduce CO2 emissions by 2030 or sooner. Also, the tax credit on EV’s is a big scam on taxpayers. The gov’t is not going to cut spending so the tax credit is only going to drive higher tax rates for everyone. All that said, I enjoy watching your videos on EV technology.
Get a diesel lazy b .
Part of the dealer’s pre delivery inspection process needs to be checking for the latest software updates and applying them before turning over the keys to the customer. Also, if GM doesn’t do over the air updates how’s an owner supposed to know if their software is out of date?
Easy. They could send you an email. GM knows the software version your vehicle has.
@@SuzukiKid400 that requires GM to spend money for customers
Usually the send out service bulletins for things like software updates or other minor fixes, looks they they forgot about this one.

Pretty cool truck. The first one I saw on the road was about 3 weeks ago and it was sitting on the side of the highway I take to work. It was there for about a week and a half. I wonder if the same thing happened.
$115K and the dealer left on the side of the road for a week. 🙄 They should have been telling those clowns to get it back to dealer even if they have to carry it.
A week And a half? God sakes.
Selling three vehicles (FJ Cruiser, Silverado ZR2, and the Lightning) to get the Hummer EV is quite a trek. Though I really wish they kept the ZR2 to do a comparison. That would be a great video idea to do, TFL. Absolutely love the Hummer EV, very awesome and badass truck. Can’t wait for more. Thanks again, TFL crew.

Our XC90 recharge died twice within the first 4000 miles. We’re told that it is software. It is wild though because they essentially become paperweights, couldn’t even get it into neutral.
You should have bought a vehicle and not a phone charger if you wanted to travel.
N all these car companies wanna make all their vehicles fully electric only. Ur basically driving computers on wheels. Stick with gas vehicles
That's the problem with "electric vehicles" once they act up, which they will, it's gonna be bad. At least gas/diesel vehicles don't do such thing or completely lock down.

the advanced software thing in new cars is such a double edged sword. more stuff to go wrong, but also the possibility of super easy and convenient fixes with OTA updates. hopefully the pros outweigh the cons long term
I don’t see it as any good. Say what you will about fixed software, but it gives manufacturers a good reason to get it right the first time. Just look at video games. So much trash gets released buggy and unfinished at full price every year. Sometimes it gets fixed other times it doesn’t. And sometimes they sell you the solution.

What a great send off for the lightning. It was a great truck that helped make a lot of great content
Horrible range for anything proven by them, but a great truck right?
Great as a commuter.
I absolutely hate the computer screen dash panels.
Looks like a total after thought, and white screen backgrounds ? Looks like s.hit.
PS: That spare tire and it's mount setup is ridiculous.
The Lightning base model centre display looks way better to my eye than the massive portrait screen.
This was an excellent video based on the factual content. We're all learning more and more about electric vehicles and this video really helps. You are doing an excellent job educating all of us and we THANK YOU. For me, I'm not yet ready for one as our retired life includes frequent long distance trips. We live in Austin, and just this year have been to Florida twice, California once and a trip up to Illinois, Ohio and Michigan. Our 2021 Expedition is a very friendly and comfortable long distance runner but at an average 20 mpg regular gas on the highway she's a bit thirsty. But the daily range of over 400 to 450 miles is unbeatable.
I'm learning the software could be as big of an issue as the battery.
in watching the break down video, I noticed when your partner reconnected the battery and got back in the truck, the software displayed actions to complete, like roll down the windows. I noticed a DISMISS option on the screen as if to dismiss that request. I wonder if dismissing each action would have moved you through the process faster. Just noting that if the window motor didn't work or it was a heavy downpour, then you could dismiss the requested action.
Thank you for the reason's for trading in the F-150 Lightning for the Hummer EV; it seems like the Lightning has a lead in enjoyable and usability for electric trucks.
Looking forward to future videos if the Hummer EV is just as enjoyable and usable.
The F-150 Lightning did not lose it's value in trade-in, will the Hummer EV lose it's value?
It would be nice to see what the Hummer cost to run for a month on daily usage charging every night at home. What the cost would be just charging at home and running errands around town, going to to work etc. I feel this would give a realistic cost of ev usage vs internal combustion engine gas prices. Keep up the good work
You can calculate the price of your household energy vs gasoline easily. What they never talk about though is maintenance requirements. What is the cost of ownership to maintain both of these over 5 years?
@@aussie2uGA an electric car is basically maintenance free. Regen keeps the brake pads new almost the entire time and the only fluid that it has is the coolant that's used for the batteries and because it doesn't get diluted by combustion it's on a 10 year interval.
Between my EV and my Mustang I spend about $125 in fuel driving 40 miles a day 4 days a week for a month. I charge my EV at home only with a 240 plug and it's plugged in from 1am when i get home and is done charging by 6am. Here in CO i'm at .20c kWh and it costs about $50 to charge over a month. Now if your fast charging in public your not saving any money. Using my local costs i figured out that if fuel is below $4 a gallon and i'm charging publicly then I'm actually spending more money driving the EV.
@@WhoThisGuy515 I gotcha, my point is they never speak of those reduced maintenance costs. Ever.
That will not be done as it would show the TRUE cost and shortfalls of the vehicle. Though they push the fact that they paid for this vehicle they do NOT pay for the numerous vehicles they "test" such as the original hummer ev...as such they don't want to piss the big companies off or they won't give them more vehicles to test( for content ) This is why they complain a little and then downplay the problem and spent countess videos talking up a vehicle that completely failed almost immediately. It is also VERY smart to NOT keep the vehicles long term so they don't have to make the big companies look bad because basically NOTHING new will last long term and even ends up being repaired under warranty numerous times. Quality of new vehicles is CRAP! And all electric vehicles range and charging capabilities are grossly exaggerated...don't believe it,do some research !

So I'm a technician at a GMC dealership. So far we've had a hummer come in twice with the exact same problem. The issue is an over-the-air update which customers receive that bricks the serial data gateway module which is in the middle of the data line and essentially makes the vehicle a 9500 lbs paperweight
On other GM vehicles this situation happens when the end user doesn't follow the directions of the over the air update. Somthing to the effect of " update in progress, do no turn off vehicle" I've seen that a few times. Haven't got a hummer in out area yet.
Did you have one Hummer that had this problem twice? Not two hummers each having this problem? Either way, this is what I need to see to still keep my 1987 Mercedes with 300,000 miles on it. Thank you to all the folks that continue doing the testing for the dealer / manufacturer.

Let’s be honest this was a quick turn around because GM seen your videos and other channels who posted your video of the broken down Hummer and knew they had to fix this quickly. If this would of been a regular customer this Hummer would still be in shop being worked on. I even seen your video of the broken down Hummer on multiple news channels roasting EV vehicles. GM upper management was on this right away to fix your Hummer EV.
There are two of these currently at the local dealership with similar problems that have been in "service" for 34 days now.
The new model for all manufactures is let the public RnD the vehicle and just slowly fix the biggest faults while developing the next nightmare generation.
We hit peak engineering in the automotive industry in 2001. Almost everything since then has been multiple steps backwards.
In this case since the fix was to reset everything by disconnecting the 12V battery and flashing a module with an existing issue - pretty sure any decent dealership would have done that. If it took a whole day, sounds like they may have taken some extra care though. Dealers only get paid for the reflash, and wouldn't have spent more than an hour on it.

Interesting that they have the ability to void warranty based on selling a car. You’d never get away with that legally in Australia
It all comes down to how well funded and how powerful the lobbyist group is. When you get big enough, you tell the government how things should be written.

I am semi retired and am very much looking into your reviews. They are factual and give me "aha" moments. That the Hummer let you stranded and On-Star just dropped the ball is unforgivable. Not that the Hummer is on my list. After watching Tyler Hoover and this channel frequently I am getting a really good idea of what EV is capable of. I still work about two days in the office every week and am looking for a quiet comfort ride on back roads in South Western Ontario, Canada. We get some snow, never know how much because of the lakes but I have not exercises my snow tires in three years (also because of the pandemic). The F150 seems to be an excellent all rounder, really something to keep in mind. Also looking at the mid size SUV/CUV market. I plan to wait until there is stock at the dealerships and negotiations are in a better place since the taxes are brutal here. Interesting system you have in Colorado with the taxes on the difference. Love the shows.
Maverick hybrid is better at that price.
Great video. If we're talking about the range on the Ford lightning and how the the tires pulling a trailer affects the range like an other gasoline or diesel powered truck, how do you think the range will be affected with a 2-3 year truck with the average of 10-15 thousand miles? Like a new cell phone you use it everyday and recharge it every night, and have software updates. You have a new phone with 40 percent battery life at the end of the day. And at the end of year 2 a phone 10 percent. I know the phone has a much smaller battery and you download and update your apps and software updates. But the truck is out driving around in the cold and hot, up and down mountains putting a lot of stress on the main battery. Just thinking out loud how your going to use it everyday like a truck compared to a normal driving conditions in a car like a Tesla with little no an unnoticeable drop off in range.
Get it wrapped in TFL colors, may help with minimizing pinstripes during off-road testing and distinguish it from others especially the previous testing.
Tommy the problem is that the Pro and XLT are unattainable, I wanted the XLT er mostly for physical buttons. but it was sold out, so I went with the Lariat ER. Already put 5500 miles in a month on mine. Glad I did not wait in hind sight as I am eligible for the $7500 tax credit which the ERs for 23 cannot get and the XLT Er is more than my 22 Lariat ER costs.
Agreed. I tried to order the lightening but missed the pre-order window. I think it sold out in hours. I've pre-ordered the silverado EV and maybe I can place an actual order next year. The industry has changed. Can't walk into a dealership and get much these days. My friend bought a bronco 2 years ago and is still waiting.
Wow! Who would have thought that GM rushed a product to market without fully testing and resolving a "known software anomaly" - said no one EVER.
Worst sales ad for GM ever 😄
So happy with my Pro! Thanks for showing how much value you get in it!
7:42 was there any driver assistance system to help with the left turn? If you had not added the spare tire would you get just a tire repair spray kit?
"Known anomaly." Interesting. Still, this is the only HUMMER EV out of a 1,000+ sold where I've heard of this issue, so this would probably fall under factory defect.
theirs more. I seen a second one this morning and people referred to these videos. also during rain. but I digress...no moisture or condensation issue??.
@@paparooster9569 I'm a member of several HUMMER EV owners' groups, and I'm yet to see another post about it. Do you have a link?
As for the moisture issue, that was due to a bad seal on the removeable top, and my understanding is that it has already been corrected. The owners who received replacements already have had no issues with rain intrusion (except for one person who later stated that they hadn't put them back in place correctly).
It's a common gm problem. On the Silverado the front view camera quits working. Have to reprogram sdgm. Yukon doesn't report airbag issues. Reprogram sdgm.etc
@@charliemagoo7943 Sure, but those are all different issues, and the ones you listed are simple errors (not something that will shut the vehicle down). When you build 4+ million cars a year, there are bound to be more than a couple anecdotal stories about modules needing to be reprogrammed.
@@newscoulomb3705 these same issues with sdgm cause a security lock up. And vehicles stop. Gm actually had to have a pickup they were trying to show to the world towed off the hockey rink because of software anomaly.
Surprised there is no liner on the hood of the hummer frunk, especially for the MSRP.
Advice for your trials: Use the "no freeways" option for the trip planning. You don't prove much by driving hours on freeways.
You'd be surprised how much work (and thus varied experience) it is to drive without using freeways. And you will also find you lose necessary communications fairly frequently.
A worst case I have experienced is a recent trip from Texas to Illinois and back...no freeways. I lost smart phone communications and internet repeatedly. In one instance it left me out in the middle of nowhere (near Poplar Bluff, MO) with no idea where I was.
Google maps doesn't drop crumbs. When you're high and dry, the least it should do is show you where it last knew you were...and how you got there. I had to resort to the compass until I got back into civilization. Without that I would have had to get out and check the moss on trees...in the dark.
Very informative as always. I havent seen anyone do a water fording challenge with electric trucks ago sailings yet (hint hint). I have seen the Rivien go sailing through 3 feet of water.
I thought they were going to do a 50 state road trip with the Ford Lighting. I was looking forward to seeing it go all over the country.
Yes, looking all over the country for places where they can charge the EV because it's out of range.
It’s pretty interesting that GM hasn’t allowed over the air updates for their electric vehicles. While plugged in with 50% of charge, it should be able to update the system at home. Not have to go to a dealer…
GM will probably charge you for an update.
It's very likely for security purposes. If you brick an infotainment update your radio and maybe your HVAC controls don't work but you can still drive the car. If you brick a firmware update on an electric vehicle it becomes a paper weight. It's the same reason no major vehicle manufacturer makes OTA updates available for your ECU/TCM etc.
Thats called poor cybersecurity. They are too lazy to protect the software used by the new trucks that is far more advanced than before. Wireless carplay, google maps, etc are all points of entry to hackers and Chevy is taking a cop out to make it easier on them but harder on you. Maybe I will buy a RAM, those hemis dont have lifter issues either
@@SimplyMenacing19 I would normally accept that as a pretty reasonable argument. The fact of the matter is that Tesla has been doing OTA updates since 2012...
@@williamnickel8132 lmao, they will stop supporting your vehicle after the next model year has come out.
When I lived in Denver (many years ago) I always loved the Dumb Friends League. Great charity, kudos for your support of them.
It only takes 4 days to fully charge on 110V, but in California it may take a little longer with the brownouts.
Look at that scenery! I wonder how far back the mountains are?
Your videos are getting better and better! Amazing! Thanks!
I like how you're acting like they are somewhat of a new channel
Unfortunately the pro with the ER battery isn’t available to the public.
Why no solar pannels when you were going to northern Alaska? You spent a bundle on adapters. Can you charge as you drive in an EV?
GM doesn’t want you to flip it? God forbid we make make a little money like the giant manufacturers and retail dealers do! Wow!!! You guys deserve to make anything extra you can.
The manufacturers aren’t making any more profit, other than Tesla who has increased prices to account for demand. It’s the dealers that price gouge.
@@SuzukiKid400 the manufacturer is definitely making more money.
@@SuzukiKid400 I’ve worked in the auto industry for 30+ years, you’re right for sure, but the manufacturer makes theirs I promise you. 👍🏼👍🏼
I have a hummer no issues other than dealer never took it out of demo mode & took a week & lots of calls to get it done It’s an awesome vehicle
I would hope that it's awesome considering that it costs more than houses in some parts of the country right now even with how house prices have skyrocketed over the last couple of years.
But what is it good for? YOU can not haul anything with it and it is too big to fit in most home garages. It is just an over sized expensive toy.
You need to do long term test one too
It may have left you stranded after only a couple of days, but hey, it came with a bag. Not only did it come with it a bag, but the bag says Hummer on it. That sounds like a win-win scenario to me
Haha
Wonder if you can change the tire when off road on a soft surface. Did you find the tow setting on your hummer?
Can they change the tire of the truck period ? It weighs over 9000lb
A 2 1/4 ton jack will lift a corner, but honestly the air suspension should be manipulated to not need a jack at all.
@@mattmasi303 well, they will require a three-foot deep concrete piling to be cast and set (so, at least a week), and then they have to anchor the tripod jack to the piling and go from there. and then they have to remove the 'totally not at all blocking the rear view of the driver' spare out of the "heavy duty" vehicle (just say 'heavy', there's no 'duty' involved any more), which takes up a third of the exposed-to-elements trunk, i mean 'bed'.
This was obviously covered under warranty, but I can see in the future dealers charging customers 000’s to “repair” vehicles and the report will read “software updated, issue resolved”.
That spare tire seems like an afterthought.
They designed the "best off-roader" but couldn't fit the spare tire somewhere else?
High speed, high load is an absolute nightmare for electric motor efficiency. Electric motors are most efficient low load. The motor in isolate is most efficient at high speed, but introduce aero drag and it's much more efficient at low speed.
Combustion engines are the opposite. They are more efficient at high load. You will burn more fuel, but you're getting a greater portion of the energy out of the fuel.
If an electric truck and gas truck have the same range empty, put a load in the bed or tow anything and the gas truck will gain a massive lead.
When TFL buys a car... the feeling I get is the same feeling I have when I watch NASCAR... I'm not saying I hope for wreck... but yeah I'm hoping for a wreck.
Fascinating
Heard about real racing ? WRC, F1 ?
I wish you had a Canadian Office for your channel to cover vehicles in Canadian weather differences.
This would be my dream job I love investigating how vehicles change each year as their like cell phones these days constantly evolving to meet our needs today.
Look up Truck King here on CZcams. He used to work for them and then started his own channel. He's exactly what you're looking for.
@@nikm4253 yep I follow Truck King I’m sure he went back to Canada so him and his dad could build the channel together, I’d work for them they seem like great people 👍
I mean Colorado gets decent snow, where tfl is located and they regularly drive in the mountains(which gets up to 40-50’ of snow a year). What different weather are you hoping to see?
@@NoJoey here in Canada we receive continuous crazy weather and weather swings. Yes I agree Colorado gets lots of snow but we get the -30 too -40 weather temperatures as well before windchills and that changes the dynamics of the snow too.
Still love and will always support TFL it’s a great channel 👍
@@bubblesrcshed supposedly our mountain valleys get that cold but I'm sure it's not as frequent as you.
When i bought my 2018 Chevyu Cruze it had to go back to the dealer immedately for software updates and warranty fixes. no heat in -10 degree weather.
It’s actually illegal for them to void the warranty if sold before 6 months.
They can’t make stipulations because it’s an EV. The consumer protection act wouldn’t allow them to enforce that BS.
I figured it was a software glitch, that should not have happened and can be dangerous. Glad GM sent an advisory and updated the software. This was potentially a very horrible PR disaster for GM, and they need to deal with this kind of software issue promptly.
Nothing better than a vehicle that software glitches can disable lol. These EVs are laughable. Zero Emissions even more laughable. They are worse for the environment than newer Diesals 😂.
@@oldrango883 How are people like you so ignorant? Do any type of research and you’ll see EVs are greener than ICE cars, not like you care about the environment anyways.
I watched the whole video with great interest. That lightening is a cool vehicle and whoever edited this video did a great job organizing all the information from previous videos. If EV's are this good now, it'll be interesting to see what they do over the next decade. Great series guys
Without a change in battery technology they won't be any real difference.
@@bowez9 I agree. Though I'm not sure if electric motor technology can do anything to make motors more efficient or not.
@@dalejones4322 high efficiency motors are already 95% and have been for decades. Standard are about 80-85%, can't speak which the industry is using but would assume the higher efficiency.
@@bowez9 I had no idea. Thanks for the info. Do you see batteries improving in a noticeable way in the near future?
@@dalejones4322 nope
On the topic of the efficiency numbers while empty but going through elevation changes. I noticed on my Kia Niro and Nissan Leaf both that mountain driving is MUCH more efficient vs flat land back roads, and then the least efficient is always flat land 75mpg highway. My Kia has hit 5mi/kwh on a 200mi loop into the mountains and back home without trying to be efficient. It's clear and not surprising the towing use is limited on the EV trucks still, but if you guys get a chance to see the effect of a camper shell that would be helpful. Not everyone needs a full trailer to camp. And since aero is so important for EV towing does that lead to the R-Pod having a noticeable advantage?
*75mph highway
Hey guys and how is it going with the construction of the barn in the tumbleweed property ?
I’m a GM guy and I’m not Impressed with this hummer EV.
White pilled yet?
