Not even. I was a pool service technician for over 4 years, and I’ll say that I had an issue with just about every type of pool cover under the sun. These things have issues every few months, and they aren’t cheap.
@BobbyBiz or maybe that person actually thinks this is a bad design. I too was questioning the quality of this when I saw the whole thing being mounted with double sided tape. However, the comment above stating that it will only take the brunt for one revolution makes sense. It's not just for likes it's genuinely looks like a bad design but really isnt.

how would it be a mold trap? It's primary purpose would be to block UV rays from the pool water, keeping the chlorine levels ideal, since sunlight evaporates it quickly otherwise. good chlorine levels won't let mold take hold. I still wouldn't use this system, it seems a bit cheaply made for my liking, especially the 2 sided tape to anchor it to the winch, and flimsy outer casing on the pedestals. I would find something a bit more beefy.

I use to work pools. This cover would cost to much to install. Its also overkill would run your heating bill up due to no sun and! They make portable ones stronger and cheaper. I never really understood why electrical ones were made crank covers take 10s to unravel and 30s to wind up. Also if u want a cover get the built in shutter covered with the hand crank. Its not expensive on build just after.

When the only thing holding it is double sided tape and anchor bolts that weren't sealed to prevent water from entering
The bolts are stainless steel, and the tape strap is only to secure the panels. The strap is only bearing a little weight for 1 revolution.

That isn't gonna keep frogs and bugs out, so you might as well buy a regular pool cover and save yourself thousands of dollars

I hate that it’s anchored - we always move the cover off to the side so we can use that side for sick dives, it’s usually over the deepest part too.

Cause it's a solar cover. Rain cover should be mounted over it.

It’s for temperature control probably a cooled pool. I’ve installed heat pumps for pools that can heat and cool them.

You can also put a reduction gearbox on a manual one which is 3:1 if I recall.

Rolling it back it will have a lot of algae between the vinyls. Assure to power wash whilst rolling it back in after the season is up.
