He, as well as others interested in the species never got any sufficient DNA samples to classify the species, but he made notes on the observations of the creature. I don't know how scientific studies are regulated in Colombia so maybe he needed solid data before being allowed to disrupt the creature to get a DNA sample, but I don't know. Since Galante got a DNA sample and tested it, it was technically him that discovered it maybe? I don't know if you looked at all the facts of the matter, or just read the one article. I just wanted to provide some more information before you solidified your opinion. I personally don't care if he did or not cause I don't follow any of his work, I'm just a joe rogan listener. *If there are any spelling or grammar mistakes I'm just gonna be lazy and not fix em edit: I lied about not editing

This is what i love about people like Forrest or other biologists or conservationists etc. Is that they are trying to preserve every aspect of animal existance wether it be from natural/invasive problems or alot of the time from the destructive nature of humans. I also love that no matter if you are not educated in animal physiology or behavior but have done some research on certain topics, he is very humble and eager to learn ANYTHING new that he can.
I think this is one of Joes favorite guests. Every time Forrest is on, Joe is always mind blown by everything he says. Joe please bring Forrest on more often!

I've rewatched a number of these long podcasts, normally when doing other things, I have to say that this is probably my favourite Roe Rogan interview. Both him and Forrest are so excited to talk and constantly bounce off each other with story after story. Except for his son, I think Forrest is the closest thing to Steve Irwin we will ever see. His personality, the charisma, his ability to get someone excited about something and the way he tells things. He gives me Steve vibes everytime I see him.

Understanding animal behavior, even on a small scale, can help understand human behavior. Were really not that far from other animals. Weve just figured out technically first and faster. But our general behavior is relatively the same.

The fact that Forrest took over an hour to casually slip in the fact that he discovered the most rare animal on the planet tells you everything you need to know about this gem, LOVE this guy. You'd never even think he's a biologist by looking at him.
He’s a parachute scientist 😬 He didn’t “discover” either the Caiman or the Tortoise, he latched into local scientists who actually had done the hard work and pretty much stole the credit…
I love that when Forrest hasn't heard something or doesn't know something, he doesn't try to bullshit his way through it. He'll straight-up tell you, "I haven't heard about that," or "I don't know." That says a lot about a person. You can tell he genuinely likes to learn as much as he likes to share his knowledge.
But he also keeps it fun and is willing to bs about cryptids. Some of the experts he has on are very opposed to going too deep into the woods on anything.
I love how easy their conversation is, no one talks over each other, they simply relay different stories back and forth between each other and appreciate the other person for their experiences
I think that’s probably why Joe has been so successful with his podcasts. He knows exactly how to converse with people. His communication skills makes his guests feel comfortable like they’re talking to an old respected friend.

My parents had a giant tortoise walk out of the woods into their yard years ago about two hours north of Atlanta, GA. It was an African Spurred Tortoise! Apparently it was a “pet” that broke out and had been wandering around the woods for months.
One of my favorite JRE guests ever. The nearly 3 hour podcast took me nearly 5-6 hours to get through because every 2 minutes you guys would send me on a tangent looking up more about what you guys were talking about. Not a passive experience at all. Loved every moment. PLEASE have Forrest on again even if it's just rehashing the same stuff.

Except for his son, I think Forrest is the closest thing to Steve Irwin we will ever see.
His personality, the charisma, his ability to get someone excited about something and the way he tells things. He gives me Steve vibes everytime I see him.

Not only is he brilliant, but... from an interview point of view, he’s easy to listen too. Nobody keeps talking over each other, nobody is yelling, he’s not doing anything annoying at all. Just very well spoken and carries himself with class. Great guest! Big fan.

Understanding animal behavior, even on a small scale, can help understand human behavior. Were really not that far from other animals. Weve just figured out technically first and faster. But our general behavior is relatively the same.
Because we can see us, as well, just another animal.

I know this might sound weird but for whatever reason Forrest Galante put me to sleep every time I can’t sleep I put on this exact video and within 20 or 30 minutes. I’m asleep forest voice just relaxes for some weird reason
I agree and when I’m awake it keeps me interested. I’ve found, soft but interesting discussions are a great help when falling asleep.
The fact that Forrest took over an hour to casually slip in the fact that he discovered the most rare animal on the planet tells you everything you need to know about this gem, LOVE this guy. You'd never even think he's a biologist by looking at him.

I love that when Forrest hasn't heard something or doesn't know something, he doesn't try to bullshit his way through it. He'll straight-up tell you, "I haven't heard about that," or "I don't know." That says a lot about a person. You can tell he genuinely likes to learn as much as he likes to share his knowledge.
But he also keeps it fun and is willing to bs about cryptids. Some of the experts he has on are very opposed to going too deep into the woods on anything.

I think that’s probably why Joe has been so successful with his podcasts. He knows exactly how to converse with people. His communication skills makes his guests feel comfortable like they’re talking to an old respected friend.

My parents had a giant tortoise walk out of the woods into their yard years ago about two hours north of Atlanta, GA. It was an African Spurred Tortoise! Apparently it was a “pet” that broke out and had been wandering around the woods for months.
One of my favorite JRE guests ever. The nearly 3 hour podcast took me nearly 5-6 hours to get through because every 2 minutes you guys would send me on a tangent looking up more about what you guys were talking about. Not a passive experience at all. Loved every moment. PLEASE have Forrest on again even if it's just rehashing the same stuff.

Forrest is easily one of the greatest guests to ever grace the JRE. I don’t give a shit about wildlife, or animals in particular. Not that I’m a dick to animals, the subject just never interested me. And I was fully engaged and glued to my screen watching this entire interview. He has such a great personality and passion for his work it’s hard not to love him. I hope to see him more
