I think the 0-60 timer starts just a tad late, but nonetheless it is still around 2.5 seconds and EXTREMELY quick
It's definitely optimistic, but yes, violently quick.
probably starts with the acceleration exceeding a detection threshold rather than when the throttle is pressed or atleast when motion starts. Anyway, magazines use a foot rollout, so the spec is moot w.r.t published values
it does the 1 foot roll out thing all american manufacture (like tesla) like to do.

When you put the top in the trunk. Push it in and it clicks in. You don't want to just set the top in as it can bounce around. If you lightly push the top into those brackets it clicks and locks in. Other than that, that thing is mint!!!

Crazy how much hate the car gets for just having an additional motor in the front. It’s literally the closest an average person can get to experiencing a Porsche 918 or McLaren P1 and you still get a big OHV V8. I’ve been lucky enough to drive the stingray quite a bit and this thing looks better, is more efficient and has more power. People are so mad that it’s even possible to get better MPG when 99% of the corvette customer base has a set budget just like everyone else. This thing is crazy and I can’t wait to drive one.
It actually gets the same mpg as the regular corvette. The electric motor is there just for added speed and torque (although it does beat the z06.). Makes people that are getting upset it has an electric motor even sillier. 😂

It doesn't matter how many CZcamsrs have uploaded reviews of a car. Yours is always my favorite. Daily motor is a closer one, though. Wink
First video i watched of an e-ray. I love it man! Idk if all c8s have the same features but the front end lift and stealth mode among others are really useful. Had a black 94 lt1 6speed for 10 years but just sold it last November. The targa top much more of a pain to remove with the ratchet lol if i ever get the kinda cash to buy one of these i would. Feel like it handles so well with the awd, especially around corners and fast take offs. way different from my 94 and my dads white 79 stingray with t tops. They just keep getting better.

The idea of any desirable car being attainable is laughable at best. Want a Porsche 911 GT3 at MSRP? Good luck... Want anything other than a base Corvette especially at MSRP... Good luck. Pretty much if the car is desirable at all and not just a econo box you're not only not getting a deal but you might not even be able to buy one even if you were crazy enough to pay over MSRP for it.
@@Elwyndor Once production picks up and they start releasing more of them it will be fine. Look at how far Z06 prices have dropped since their release.

That stealth mode is an awesome feature! I read a thread (non eray) where the owner feels compelled to do cold starts with the garage door closed (!) and keep it closed… until the car idles down. To avoid irritating the neighbors. Sounds like a risky strategy.
That seat being borderline too tight for someone who is essentially a string bean (5’ 11”, 150 lbs) is quite unfortunate for those a bit farther towards the higher end of the Bell curve.
The extra color matching on some of the trim and vents makes it look like someone got carried away with the spraypaint or plastidip.

Love the AWD qualities of the Eray.Truly makes it a friendly year round interstate cruiser over the ZO6. Doesn’t really need a supercharger or twin turbos but those are aftermarket options with AWD grip/safety. I understand the attraction of the cross plane soundtrack(which I need to hear in person)but to me personally,the traditional V8 sounds better…at least on video. You Tube owners of the ZO6 commented that the Eray inspires more confidence in the real world such as a mountain road unlike the ZO6 which is more track focused and may tend to want to spin/kick it’s rear out occasionally if flogged too hard etc. My personal conundrum is of course the price. It is a performance bargain but is one Eray or ZO6 worth more than 3-4 cars worth approx. 50k(minus mods etc.) A C8 Z51(approx 85k) may be the more practical choice but for 114k base…the Eray with its ZO6 body kit,standard carbon ceramic brakes,magneride etc. for 35-40k more does continue to pull at the heart strings. So…3-4 new or one Retirement play toy? A lot of ICE cars will still be made(manual/auto)up until 2035. I plan on acquiring as many as I can afford before the electric golf carts take over…

Whats really the difference between the E-ray, stingray, Zr1 and Z06???? I assume Stingray is the cheaper version, E-ray is better for daily driving it being awd and z06 and zr1 are more track oriented?
I remember watching a motorweek reteo vid of them reviewing a 1982 corvette 40-55 mph. And it was 3.2 secs. They said it was very quick. This car does 0-60 MUCH quicker. 2.5 secs. The contrasts is very obvious

Sounds like sounds pumped through the speakers, specifically that "electric motor" You would hear that no matter how much throttle you gave this thing if it wasn't synthesized.

The E-Ray is the only Corvette that has extra torque. The zo6 and the base model have the same amount of torque

Vbox and Draggy showed 3.3 to 3.5 seconds 0-60. Because it doesn't care about the 1 foot roll out. Interestingly the on board timer started after the 1 foot roll out which is why its lying to us. In fact the 1 foot roll out on this was measured at almost 2 feet! Also the Z51 corvette was so much quicker off the line but after it leaves the line and starts accelerating, thats when the e ray very quickly catches it.

Does the engine shut off when you come to a stop, and can you creep away in EV while the engine is starting?
It does have auto start stop, but it's unrelated to the hybrid system. It doesn't set off in EV mode unless you cycle the key again and tell it to be in stealth mode.
@@TopherDrives I'm aware of that, but what I was asking: is there zero power until the engine starts, or will the front electric motors get you off the line before the engine is able to provide power? Or is the engine startup absolutely instant like a Prius, so there isn't any delay?

The Corvette C8 does’t have Adaptive Cruise Control (at least as of yet). He activated the following distance indicator which just notifies when he’s a certain distance from the vehicle in front to either slow down, lower the cruise control speed, or swap lanes to pass

I love in 2024 when companies put Bose in their products as a premium product end when Bose are sold at Walmart not to mention they are shutting down its entire retail store footprint in North America, Europe, Australia and Japan. EDIT: Also and for $130,000 my trunk better auto open and close with a button/touchscreen...Cybertruck's open themselves not to mention you can even customize the height you want them to open to using an app.

You shouldn’t be able to see your car’s sides in your side view mirror. You already heave a rear view mirror looking straight back. Adjust them further out and no car has a blind spot. ;)

I loved your review with RedLine Reviews, I cant remember how to spell his name but he loved your driving skills in the rain.
They shouldn't even make a non convertible version of this car because of the wind buffeting. Also of note, if you're looking to get into one of these I highly suggest you take one for a 24 hour test drive, because if you're over 180 lbs man, you'll sit directly on the side cushions/bolsters, which are rock hard btw, I couldn't sit in one comfortably for more than 20 mins, and my back was aching coming out. Seat bottoms need to be wider, unless you sit like a girl with closed legs. I dont recommend these cars, or the c7 Z06 because of the seats.
no knee room to man spread because of the stupidly tall and wide center console = crushed balls. every new car seems to be this way. no room. i hate it.
