My hot take on the recently announced Bulgari Aluminium, not a watch for everyone but I'm rapt it isn't intended to be.
Note. Most of the pictures used came from the tide and tide website - they actually got hands on with the watch and their excellent review is here: timeandtidewatches.com/hands-...

I like the Tricolore version, and I like the "door hinge" strap.

I had one of the pre-curser to these with the honeycomb dial as my first luxury watch and honestly it was a brilliant watch. I’m not sure mine was aluminium but the aesthetics were the same. I miss that watch.

@@adrianobanak2824 I'm not sure to be honest, I'm pretty sure it had a screw down crown though. It was the DG40SV model.

In reviews, I'm generally interested in finding out about FACTS, not the reviewer's "emotional perception". But you talked about it, about the feeling, emotions and "intuitive" reception of this model in such a way that it really kept me in front of my laptop for additional 7:29. Found your channel sheerly by chance, looking for reviews of this paricular Bulgari model, but have already subscribed and as from tomorrow gonna check out more of your reviews. If they're similar in style to this one, I'm very likely to stay tuned for a longer time.

A fair commentary. I do think that the watch will be more popular outside the watch community than within it. I find nothing wrong with this. Fine examples of industrial design at relatively affordable prices from a luxury jewelry brand is straight out of the Cartier playbook. The revival of an entry level series of references can be augmented with the introduction of progressive intermediate references stair stepping to the Octo Finissimo as the top of the line. The Octo Romas and such that would serve as the middle tier references were never really strong.

I like the look 👀 Pete, must be a light weight watch, we make watches out of Titanium for light weight...it’s a great unisex piece. Great 👍 intro, makes me miss Bondi Beach & eating 🍽 Icebergs for business lunches.

I love the Octo, but not this one. You used exactly the right adjective: gauche. I think your take on it is interesting and accurate. It’s a purely personal, aesthetic issue for me. Thanks for another interesting video.

Still, got a way to go to catch the Submariner - I think its got Rolex printed 13 times on the case and dial visible from the wrist.

I agree with you. I understand that it is not the most technologically impressive model and you are paying for the brand name. However, the number one reason why I choose a watch is because of the style. I choose it because I like the way it looks on my wrist and I personally like the looks of this watch. I will be interested to see how it feels due to the different material used. As always keep up the good work and the original takes you provide.

Like you, I'm also very intrigue with this Bvlgari and Breitling Endurance Pro, to the point of even considering them for my next purchase together with the typical automatic divers. Very often we (myself included) are trapped in our own checklist of a watch to be automatic, diver, common brands/models, good value retention, 'functional' (when we only desk-dive), tough, etc. Whats more important is how a watch makes one feels, and how one feels is a reflection of who he/she is.

I agree. This resale value thinking is very new and has really taken off in the last couple of years. Buy the watches you like and invest in other things like property and stocks.

As you see from what the girls post both Meghan & Jacinta love ❤️ Pete’s thought 💭 provoking content as well, even if you go back to some of his old video’s it’s worth watching them.

Idk if aluminium per se is better or worse than steel (for a watch case), but... I do wish there was more of a variety in what materials are commonly used for watch cases. Seems like 80% is 316L steel, and the rest is Rolex steel, gold, and maybe 5% bronze/ti/other.

I have a similar take on the watch. Like it a lot, prefer the white one, and find it cool, clean, modern, unique, and fun-its a watch for the cool kid who’s surprisely not a jerk.
Think I need to break out a thesaurus because when I praise a watch I enevitably use words like modern, unique, and fun. Just a little exhausted by the onslaught of “vintage” inspired and remakes.
I do think the aluminum factor is actually a plus-a fun detail that makes it different.
The only place we differ, no harm in that, is that I’m comfortable with the word “fashion.”
Watches are a form of self-expression and I freely admit to loving certain watches because of the specific color on the dial, bezel, etc.

Sidenote, I half suspect they chose Aluminium purely because it looks more "white" than steel (which is more silvery/metallic), and thus goes better for the black/white look Bulgari has on this piece.
