You have 3 founding members of maybe the greatest band ever but people are enamored to see a former BASS player? Thats speaks volumes. Jason was the fans connection to Metallica because he was a fan. He was us. I love that guy.
...Rob’s bass was still louder than Jason’s...without Jason the band has never been the same. Rob is a talented bassist, but Jason had an attitude, presence, style, and vocal ability that can’t be matched.
after watching the videos and listening carefully, rob bass sounds more punchy than Jason because rob uses a precission bass which has punchy characteristics than jason jazz bass configuration
I've always said that cliff was the teacher, Rob is the most talented (dude plays flamingo guitar for crying out loud) but Jason was the energy that drove them. Especially at shows
Rob does a decent job. Its better than having someone who cant play worth a shit. If James and the rest of the guys had never mistreated Jason, Jason would still be in the band.
Jason Brand totally agree. Cliff was almost a one man band. But Jason fitted just right in. there is so much energy when he plays with them and it shines through on these metclub shows. He has a huge live pressence and I think hes the best bassplayer they had.
Anywhere but a small one in the lower right is just stupid. The eye is naturally least drawn towards the lower right since we read from left to right and from top to bottom. So watermarks, logos, etc. Should always be in the lower right corner with no exceptions, it outta be a law!
In 2019 I still say that Jason is the 2nd bassist of Metallica. I know Ron was there, Cliff was a genius, and Rob is a great replacement. But Jason is the bassist of Metallica. Forever.
Jason brings that punch to the live performances that they've been missing literally since Rob's first concert. Sorry Rob but you don't compare where it matters most.
Yeah, it's a bit annoying considering Lars is tightening up, and is at his best since 94, and James' vocals and energy are better, but they lack that punch that Jason had
Rob doesn’t have the same energy because he’s literally a fanboy in the band who’s getting to live his dream and can’t hide his excitement, which would be most of us but Jason could hid it in and keep the energy as aggressive
I'm not sure why people have to make comments like "he's not the best, but...". Who is the best bassist/drummer/guitarist/singer in the world, you know? It's all subjective. But to me, Jason was the coolest Metallica bassist.
Jason was the best. Cliff was a better songwriter and Rob is a better bass player, but Jason had the personality and vocal talent that is lacking with the new Metallica.
The members of Metallica never accepted Jason as true member of Metallica but the fans did, on the other hand the fans will never accept Robert as a true member but James Lars and kirk do!
@@nataszasuarez6243 as far as I know, I didn't say that in my last comment. I'm refering that I like Robert, and there's plenty of Metallica fans who accepted him
Metallica just ain't the same without Jason. Rob your great I don't want to take anything from you. Jason is and always will be a part and the hardness of Metallica.
Jason where he belongs! If only it was for good. He seriously needs to be back in Metallica... No disrespect to Rob.. but I've never been able to fully accept him as a member of Metallica... I miss Jason far too much.... :(
Rob is a really great bassist and plays more like Cliff than Jason ever really did but Jason played and helped write most of their music and his backing vocals are better and he fits in better than Rob. Still really like rob though.
YEESSSSSS!!!!! nice to Jason doing a song with them again. i wish he would have stayed, no one could play a bass with a pick like him. also the backing vocals sound just right. (probably because he did them in the recording of the song)
If only they dropped the hazing act on Jason he'd still be in the band. He got more validation and acceptance from Metallica in the 3 nights of these anniversary shows than he did in 15 years.
Great clip! I think this is why they shy away from playing Load era songs since Jason quit. So many of them kind of hinge on Jason's backing vocals to enhance the vibe.
Agreed Jason's back up vocals are awesome, I love the load album. I can't wait to see them again, new album soon means at least one U.S. Your. #metallicarules
One thing people have to realize when they say things like "Rob is a better bassist than Jason", is that while yes, Rob plays with his fingers like Cliff, Jason is not only capable of finger picking (he just prefers to use a pick), but for many, MANY years, he also played ALL of Cliff's parts, to a "T", with a pick, instead of his fingers. If THAT doesn't take talent, I don't know what does.
Jason fantastycznie sprawdza się w rockowo/metalowej formule jaką tworzy Metallica !! No a jego WOKAL !?! Niesamowicie brzmi wraz z James'em :):) Jest MOC !! Jason come back to Metallica !!!!
