First Harvest of 500 Baby Lavender Plants

- Hi, I'm Mikaela. Along side my family we run a small lavender farm business located in a small town north of Boise, ID, garden zone 7a. Our first plants were put in the ground fall of 2021, with some added varieties added early spring of 2022 - making this summer our first harvest ever! We have 18 varieties plus 2 mystery varieties. Our spread includes culinary, medicinal, white/pink and many colors of purple/blue strains of the well known lavender plant. With over 500 baby plants our harvest method is to only take the mature stalks, leaving the newly emerging green spikes coming up on their own time. Harvest will undoubtedly take longer than subsequent years by doing it this way but we are cherishing every flower God grows us. Let me show you, on This Side of the Firmament.
