    I've had mine a year now, with about 2000 miles on it so far. It runs better now than when it was new. Still using the original drive belt, no issues. I had the same vapor lock problem and did the same thing with the gas cap but eventually that issue went away. Bike sat through a brutal winter with temps -30 below zero. Didn't even need to charge the battery. It started right about after 6 weeks. All out car batterys died. Did another oil change this week. Yeah, it helps if you turn a wrench but it really isn't terribly hard to work on. My bigger bikes are much more of a hassle. Easiest vehicle I've ever owned for oil changes,

    I've had one for a few months. I love it, I am mechanically inclined so I have swapped a few things and have tuned it back up with a new exhaust and free flow intake. It's quite a beast with those 2 addons. Rollers are next for me, and that's it, it's perfect the way it came. Aside's from replacing those fuel lines. I throw 91 octane, with a little Royal Purple additives, have had no issues. Great machines for $1000!

    I was just looking to buy one of these. I was looking more at the Ascend 150 Tank but I have this saved on Amazon, about to hit the purchase button, lol. Replace all your vacuum and fuel lines, Chinese don't have ethanol and they use cheap rubber. I would either change out the carb or drill out the original and change the jets. I've been reading alot about chinese scooters, lol.
    Can't wait to see some more of your reviews on this Tahiti 150. Good luck on your adventure............

    At 1300 miles I have not noticed any performance issues and mine is all stock. I expected the drive belt to fail also but have had no issues. I will change it when I notice it begin to fail but so far no issues. Aside from the vapor lock, adjusting the idle is about all I've done.
    I babied it the first 300 miles during break-in and did oil changes at purchase, 300 miles, and 1000 miles. I also changed the gear oil right away. I added a windscreen for $25 plus the luggage kit for $250. But aside from accesories, mine is entirely stock. I did put on the exhaust guard. (I have scars on my leg from burning it on a motorcycle more than once)
    I don't know if you have taken yours off-road much but that is one of my favorite aspects of this bike. It is great for off-road use as well as on-road. And I let my 13 yo son drive it. It is so simple to operate he has no problems, though I have so far only let him ride it off-road.

    X-Pro had mine delivered 2 DAYS! after I ordered it. From Texas to Omaha Nebraska in 2 days! The driver put it exactly where I wanted it. Assembly was mostly easy, I just put on the grip guards, the exhaust cover, straightened out the handle bars and tightened them. Put on the useless mirrors and tried to put on the rear kickstand.
    The kick stand was my biggest problem. The spring did not fit. I finally bought one from Home Depot that fit, for like 2 for $4. Now I may remove it. The reason being added weight and it is not hard to install it temporarily when I need to prop the bike up. It even drags a little sometimes on tight cornering when I lean way over.
    Another complaint I have are the screws holding in the handlebar controls. They will not tighten the controls, there is just a little bit of play in them. The wind screen attaches to these so it wobbles a bit. More of an annoyance than anything, it does not affect the performace at all. But it wobbles when I move them.

    You mention your bike runs better in cooler weather; I have noticed the same thing. I bought mine when it was still cold out and never had an issue with vapor lock. The problem only developed in the summer. Although I seem to have resolved the issue, yesterday, it was brutally hot, 104 degrees. The bike had been sitting in the hot sun and when I started it, it did not want to start, then ran very poorly. It would only get to 30 mph and had a tough time doing even that. So I parked it and took my Suzuki instead. Later when the sun went down it ran just fine.

    I also swapped out my mirrors. The stock mirrors were useless. All I could see were my arms. Do you have a link for where you bought yours? I got some bigger ones to replace the stock mirrors but I like to be able to see what is behind me well. I would like to add those if possible.
    I HATE those passenger foot rests. They pop out all the time and stab me in the leg. I would remove them but I do give my son rides occasionally. I also give rides to my 4 yo daughter. She LOVES it! There are those big handles on the back. It is an excellent vehicle for passengers.

    Thinking about getting one of these l have a genuine roughhouse 50cc that has 35 thousand plus miles on it and still runs great but I want to get something else before it dies. Plus I want something 150cc. I too drive my scooter to work everyday like 5 miles. My question to you is is this scooter worth buying. I don't have the cash to buy a Zuma.

  • @jerrybriardy
    @jerrybriardy Před 11 měsíci +1

    I have the exact same bike, 1300 miles on it since March (Now August). I've also had the same problems with vapor lock and the engine running out of fuel. It did not happen when I first purchased the bike and seems to have stopped.
    When it happens I open the gas cap and let it sit for a little while. It always starts again after the fuel gets through. I have never thought of removing the gasket. The vent hole in it is tiny. I wonder if it gets clogged. I poked a paper clip into it and I'm not sure if that is what solved the problem but it no longer does that. Hopefully it will stay functional.
    The 4 bolts that hold the seat bucket in place when you need engine access I removed for easier access. I intend to replace them with screws that are easier to remove. They sit in recesses which I need a socket with an extension to remove which is a dumb design decision IMO. The seat lock keeps the seat from falling off anyway.
    I ordered a luggage kit from a different vendor (not X-Pro). It fits perfectly, it just bolted right on to the already existing mounting holes. It cost around $250, but is well worth it as it now has a huge amount of storage, like a Honda Goldwing of motorscooters.
    I'm a very heavy guy, 300 pounds, so the fastest I've managed to get mine up to on a flat surface is 48 mph, 53 mph downhill. I agree, it begins feeling unstable at 50 mph. 40-45 is a comfortable ride. I've taken my 130 pound son on rides and it will do 40 mph an a flat road. It handles the weight surprisingly well.
    I've been riding motorcycles for more than 40 years. I currently also have an 800 Suzuki Intruder and an 1100 Yamaha Virago. I did not expect much when I bought this 150. But it has become my main bike. I like it because it works so well off-road and is so light it is more like a bicycle. The storage I bought has made it the easiest and most conveniant bike I own. I am 200% satisfied. It is by no means perfect (What in life is?) But it far exceeds my expectations.

    I’ve been interested in these for a while, I’ve been doing research, I’m curious how long
    It will last because I know it’s a Chinese bike so I’m wondering the reliability… the Zuma is like almost 4K so it’s a big difference in price

      25 000 miles on average. Thats till the engine and or cvt needs replacing. 5 years and it will be junk tho, unless you baby it and keep it indoors. The Yamahas will last longer and hold their value longer and be higher quality

    • @jerrybriardy
      @jerrybriardy Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yes, and I don't think fuel injection is a plus. I say this because you can replace the carb on these for $30. I'm not so sure liquid cooling is a plus either. It is one more level of complexity. The engine may last longer but replacement engine for these are around $200-$300. At that point I would probably just buy a new bike.
