  • Likes and Dislikes - this is not a riding video, that will come later. Thought I would do a walkaround, and a bit of show and tell for the Tank 200 Scootz. If you have one of these, leave a comment! There are very few videos of this one (in particular the 168cc carbureted engine code 161QMK), could be an opportunity to share some knowledge and maintenance tips.

    Bought one a year ago, Has 117 miles on it. Getting around 100 mpg. Runs close to 60mph. It is FOR SALE , I just don't have the time to ride it ! Asking $1800 OBO. Middle Tennessee Area

      I had confidence, plus tools. Hopefully enough that if something did shake apart or break, I should be able to cobble it back together till I can fix it properly

    Update on gas mileage: seems the summery weather improves it a lot. My last ride yielded 68mpg, something I would expect and be happy with. Nothing extraordinary about that ride, it was mostly on 45 to 50 mph roads and did fine.

    I've been to the Catskills. I'm from Westminster, New Jersey. My family and I used to go camping there. LOL. Anyways, how fast did they go? I just ordered an army green one. Haven't gotten it yet. Won't get it till August 9th but what am I to expect? I hope it's got some power??

      @@D-Rock21 Hi there, it does have some power. It doesn't have much trouble doing 50 to 53 mph. 55 seems to be pushing it but I'm sure with a little tuning or after-mods you can get more from it. Regardless I wouldn't be bombing down the freeway with this, at least not on a cross country tour. It's great on pretty much anything but the freeway. Hope this helps.

      @@TheRealTragicallyInept Yes, it does. Thank you very much. I mean I would not want to take it on the highway but maybe a highway that goes up to 55 I would

    I have the FlyWing Marshall 200 (169cc) scooter which has the same exact carburated engine as yours, 161qmk, however I can’t seem to find any compatible parts for this specific engine anywhere online. Have you had any luck yourself?

    • @TheRealTragicallyInept
      @TheRealTragicallyInept  Před 2 měsíci

      So far I haven't had the need for extra parts. Some things should be able to bolt on from a 150cc but in terms of after market upgrades I have no idea. Personally I'm after better fuel economy but that's about it. I'll record a video of me replacing the carburetor and will note the specs and parts when I get around to that job but that won't likely be for some time.

    How was the registration proccess and did it start with a L the vin cause in my state we can't register vins

    • @TheRealTragicallyInept
      @TheRealTragicallyInept  Před 3 měsíci +2

      My VIN does not start with an L. I found the registration was easy in NY, they're always happy to take my money. It's insured and plated.

      Not sure what you're asking. I think you're asking what shop I purchased the bike from. I bought the scooter privately, and did all the registration paperwork myself.

    Those things on the handle bars are not to keep your hands warm. They are brush guards to protect your hands if you ride through the woods. And if you have a carborator, it's the 149cc. The 168cc has EFI.

    • @TheRealTragicallyInept
      @TheRealTragicallyInept  Před 3 měsíci

      The hand guards are for both purposes. Reducing the wind on your hands will keep them warmer for longer although I agree the more effective use is for brush guards.
      Also I have a 168cc carbureted engine. Engine code stamped is 161QMK. That's 168cc. Plus it's carbureted. It is not a common engine configuration but it truly exists. Must be a rare collectible might be worth something someday lol

    • @TheRealTragicallyInept
      @TheRealTragicallyInept  Před 3 měsíci

      Another guy mentioned he thinks it's EFI as well. When I swap out the carb I'll do a video on it, there might be some interest.

    I have the same tank version but mine is EFI. I am surprisingly happy with mine, not one problem at all even though it’s only got 200 miles on it. I’ve changed the oil three times to keep the circulation of metal in the engine to a minimum. The engine is quite peppy and acceleration is surprisingly good. Overall an excellent scooter even though it’s china made.

    • @TheRealTragicallyInept
      @TheRealTragicallyInept  Před 4 měsíci +1

      You should be able to find a magnetic oil drain plug, it would capture any metal filings that get caught up in the oil. This is what I do in lieu of a proper oil filter. Hope it helps!
