Hey BEAT family! I can't wait for you to view this video and let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear where you are at right now in your church journey. Have you experienced church hurt? Have you been disconnected with church? Let me know what's happening in your world and your thoughts on this video below. Enjoy!

My jaw dropped when I saw the intro. I think that for anyone who doesn't watch the rest of the video it's a huge turn off. I understand that it's a quote but I think you should remove it from the intro and keep it in its proper context. I love you and your videos so don't think I'm saying anything negative about you or your content in general. I just think this one overstepped its bounds a little bit. I hope you understand that it's meant to be helpful.🙂 God bless!

Brother Allen, 2 things, 1 am I mistaken or did I see video where you go over when it might be time to leave the church you're attending?! I feel like u did and I cant find it but I could be wrong. Number 2, I sent u a message on fb (you probably have millions of messages lol) . I just need to ask you to please pray for my mom. She is in a serious situation and needs all the prayers she can get. Thank you!
Sorry, I meant to add my mom's name is Tina. (I'm Mitch by the way). Love your vids. They really help me out. Again thanks a million.

I have, but God has been really clear and His Spirit helpful in guiding my wife and I to navigate through it, heal from it and unshaken by it. I am currently functioning as a campus pastor in our church, and people "giving up" attending and connecting and engaging the body is one of our biggest realities right now. So, this year our focus is on how God wants us to address this issue and lovingly encourage them to take a look at their reasons and also the Biblical side and allow the Spirit of God to convict and show them on His timing and terms!

Great video as usual Brother Allen. My journey has been a long one. However, I was at a local church, my reason for not returning is due to the teaching of a light prosperity gospel message. Now I know there are other local church's I can look into, which I am. I got a question though, the church I do attend is not local, thus my attendance is online. And I love the way the pastor preaches. He's actually one of the pastors you mentioned in your top 5 pastor video. I guess my question is am I wrong from a biblical standpoint for attending online rather than local? Thank you for your time and keep up the great work your doing for God's kingdom

"5/30/11 From The Lord, Our God and Savior
The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy
For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear
Thus says The Lord: I have bestowed many gifts upon this generation, and lo, the small of My flock have received knowledge and revelation beyond compare. Yet I ask you, who has truly received? Who has been humbled by My words and given thanks? Who among all these scattered flocks has taken joy in My gifts? Beloved, who among this great multitude seeks out My will, to know it? And who, among all these so-called believers, takes pleasure in My Law, saying, “I delight to do Your will, O God, for Your Law is written in my heart”?[1]
Yet My people remain foolish, and this little flock envious. For I tell you the truth: Unrighteous jealousy is the companion of fools. For those who envy also grab hold of jealousy, walking hand in hand with covetousness. Beloved, there is but One who sees, One who knows, only One who searches the hearts and minds - I AM HE. How is it then that My people sit in judgment, judging My Word and My will, resisting My ways as they look upon others with contempt? Shall you also seek to ascend above The Most High?! Shall you sit upon My throne?! For I tell you the truth, each time you sit in judgment and question My ways, you walk in satan’s aspirations; you follow in his footsteps![2]
And when I bless another, why do you not take joy in it? And when I correct you, why do you resist and question My ways? Am I not The Lord? Do I not give to each according to their faith, according to that which I see in their heart? Why do you in your arrogance set a line for Me to follow, or think within yourselves there must be a better way? And how is it you continually compare yourselves amongst yourselves, knowing this is unwise?[3] Beloved, I have prepared a place for you! Therefore offer up thanksgiving, and cease from your complaints. Forgive and bless, let go and obey, love one another and wash each other’s feet. Take joy in all I do, especially in that which I bestow upon another. And when I feed you, eat from your own plate and give thanks.
Little flock, it is the last hour, yet many of you have stepped backward. Let it be known to you: One who treads the path, going up and down, stepping on and off at their convenience, treads not the path, but is like one who treads water. By no means shall they be able to keep their head above water, nor shall their strength deliver them in the Day of Troubles.
      Therefore heed My words, and also do them;
Be wise in your dealings with Me,
      Humble yourselves and remember...
Blessed are those who run to Me,
      For they shall be blessed in My presence;
Even more blessed are those who run to Me,
Then obey My Word, for their blessing
Is complete and they are at peace...
      Deliverance they shall surely know...
      Says The Lord."

As a child I was bullied and ostracized in the church. Pastor's wife would have other youth bully and harass me. My biggest church however was two years ago being put out of a church for being depressed and suicidal. To a point I can see it from their pov because my depression manifest himself in anger. The anger on my part came from years of not being taken seriously. I was not only put out but there was so many rumors being spread about me not from the regular lay members but by the deacons and elders. They would threaten any one ( ministry leaders) not to let me in their ministry telling them that I was crazy. I wasn't crazy just depressed, hurting and looking for a reason to live. At my lowest I was put out. But God! He wiped every year dusted me off reminded me of my purpose in him. He placed me in a wonderful church home. I love my new church. I am free to share my struggles with depression without being condemned. I am encouraged in the word! God has put me in a place where I am loved and embraced. One thing that has helped me was knowing that Jesus truly understood because the Pharisees and Sadducees which represented the church in Jesus day looked for ways to kill him! The people in his hometown tried to throw him off a hill because they didn't like his message that he was anointed to free the capitives and give sight to the blind. Simply because they saw him as only Joseph the carpenter's son and not as the Messiah. To all those going through church hurt I encourage you to keep in God realize that there is also tares in the church but don't let them deter you from a true relationship with God!

Thanks for sharing. I have a similar story. I used to be a pretty social kid, but once I reached a 7 or so, I suffered from extreme anxiety and behavioral outbursts. I think it made me an outcast in the eyes of some kids and possibly parents. I was never bullied, but was constantly excluded. And every friend I brought to church was insulted by some of the other girls. I’ve found more friendship and “real people” in the world than in the church.
I hope that I can find a new church… a decent one in the future where I can use my gifts and experiences to improve people’s lives and minds.

I have tears in my eyes, because like you Ivonne, I got used to attending church online and feel I need to be using my gifts and talents in the physical church. After watching Allen's video, my spirit has not been able to rest knowing that I need to be in a local church (preferably in my community), as I have seriously been feeling convicted that I am not using my gifts in the local church (I am a musician -- bass player and a drummer). I don't feel right not being in a local church and am continuously praying to the LORD to lead me to a local church here in the community for which I live (I moved away from the area where my home church is located 5 years ago and have not been able to find a church, in the community for which I live, that I'm comfortable with).
I left my home church sometime ago, as I had a bad experience with a couple of the leaders in the church and allowed my anger to get the best of me. I have since forgiven them and have asked them to forgive me for any wrongs I have done to them; I have not forgotten what happened -- I have asked the LORD to take that away from me as well, as I don't want to carry that anymore.
I should note that I have been attending a church out of Louisiana; however, it's online. Although, I enjoy the preaching, bible studies, and attending the men's meetings (online) and the pastor recognizes me as an e-member of his church; yet, I still don't feel right not being in physical attendance in a local church.
@THE BEAT by Allen Parr - Thank you letting the LORD use you to bring this message. It really struck a cord with me and I was convicted by it.

My church hurt started when the pastor of my last church kept a secret from me that his son was having an affair with my wife. This broke my heart into pieces. He blamed their affair on me and his son wife. My ex-wife got pregnant by the son and the divorce was a nightmare.... This kept me away from the church. One CANNOT romanticize moving around churches till you find the right one, and call it "church dating".
Thatb is so wrong on so many levels.
With so much technology , and believing churches or bible study groups in EVERY town - geographic commitment is an issue? especially when experiencing "church hurt"?.
I sincerely with love must ask you to get over yourselves. Its about the gospel and if you are being fed to grow in the faith..
There is no evidence in scripture that commitment to attending one place of worship is the way to worship, in fact, Jesus more than once said God is looking for those that do not worship in a holy mountain, or a temple made with hands - but lift up holy hands where ever you are, and worship in spirit (no defined location, time, season, or program present), and in truth (the way Jesus gave the Apostles to hand down to us).
The church is the body of Christ, and meeting to participate in service, gifting, and considering each other - to share in the Lord's supper is demanded - that we remember we must live out the gospel - repentance, forgiveness, patience, charity, and testimony.
This can be done without committing to one local church, as the Apostles describe in Acts.
      .......

@@morgradordread4394 you kinda sound like someone who does not SERVE in church and quite frankly, too philosophical without logic. When a person seriously tithes, works in ministries, serve etc etc, you best believe they are going to see to it that they invest their time, money and energy to a church that is truly doing the work of the Lord. The truth is, that person may not find that out until months later. So it’s not “ romanticizing” anything. Actually it’s a way to avoid getting “ church hurt” from putting too soon of a trust in people who may not have good intentions. As there is the spirit of laodicea, apostasy in the Church of Jesus Christ! The separating between the tares and the Wheat has already started.

The church i attended ( i've been online since pandemic) is non denominational. This church is warm, loving, welcome & biblical. They have lots of small groups etc. i'm 66 y/o and perhaps this is where the disconnect comes into reality. i am loved on when we assemble together, however no one contacts me otherwise. After worship service and small groups, it became a bittersweet time for me, as it seems everyone has friends and family to do things with. This experience has helped me to transition into not attending church. While the church is biblical based, we don't practice communion on a monthly basis (i would love it weekly). i spoke with one of the associate pastors regarding the church practicing communion. He was very kind, and told me he would discuss my concern with the other leaders and get back to me. This was pre pandemic, and the situation was never addressed. During this pandemic, i have been contacted by my church family perhaps twice. i am able to care for myself, however i would feel better if i knew someone genuinely cared, and perhaps they don't, but not deliberately . Out of sight...besides everyone has their own thing. i've reached out to members of my church family on occasion to send blessings. They do reply, however, the communication is never initiated by them. Generally i feel as though i'm overlooked, so why attend? i continued to tithe until several months ago, when i realized a family member was in desperate need. i plan on going back to my church, i miss the praise and the atmosphere of being with fellow believers. Have you ever felt alone in a crowded room of people you know...?

There is a difference between the "Church" and the "assembling of one another". The two are not the same. Who is worthy to build Christ's church, but only Christ Himself, and wheresoever we are, having Christ within, is where the True Church is. God has not commanded us to go to church every Sunday, repetitiously and religiously, BUT TO BE THE CHURCH. Physical churches create "listeners" who hardly open their Bibles, yet subscribe to every doctrine that tickle their ears, dividing the whole of God's Word into the bits and pieces they choose to acknowledge while throwing the rest away.
It's amazing when you are sitting in a pew listening to whatever pre-planned uninspired "sermon" the pastor FEELS God has put it upon his heart, or some message that "God has for you", and yet God has not spoken but through His Word in these last days, it's amazing how THAT is considered keeping in accordance with God's Word "not to forsake the assembling of one another.", yet, if you stay home and watch the same "sermon" on television, you are "forsaking" the assembly because you are not physically there.
Most people in those days did not have "churches" to go to every Sunday, and many would have to travel long distances to find a synagogue. It is a "gathering of people" that form an assembly, not the assembly itself that determines if God is present or not.
    Matthew 18:20 (nkjv)
20 For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Where in this Scripture does it say that it must be a "church" built with bricks in which we assemble, for it to count as an "assembly"? The "where" is not mentioned.

This video speaks so much to me as I definitely believe God wanted me to hear your message when He placed it in my CZcams recommendations. It’s unfortunate that in this day in age, it seems to be more and more difficult finding pastors and fellow believers representing Christ to the fullest. I appreciate you for not conforming to the world’s depiction of Christ and continuing to represent true biblical values. It’s difficult representing Christ in such a fallen world but seeing you and others with huge followings utilize your platforms to fight the good fight and speak boldly on controversial/difficult topics is encouraging! You’ve been a blessing! This video was for me because I’ve been struggling with attending church since the pandemic. I’m honestly more comfortable attending church at home with my family and/or watching sermons on CZcams or RightNow Media. These sermons are more in-depth and help me better understand stricture to apply it to my life and teach and demonstrate Christ-like behavior to my children. I have had so much church hurt since we moved to the city when I was a teenager. I have not managed to connect with any church family for 38 years! Except one, but they started teaching things not entirely in line with Scripture so we left. It's not from a lack of trying. In most churches they don't let me serve in any capacity and I've offered and signed up. I'm bewildered. Yes I'm different, I have ADHD and I'm weird. But I'm willing to accept them faults and all, you would think church is a place where you would be accepted in a world full of rejection. I will admit to not attending very often. We do attend a home church group every Sunday evening in the home of a pastor and we gather to eat and fellowship and then have a lesson straight from the Bible. Here, I connect. Here I feel loved. But Pastor Charles says that home group is not a replacement of our home church services but a supplement. I just really don't want to go where I'm so obviously not wanted and not allowed to serve (they don't even want me wipe down tables after fellowship, but I found a rag and cleaner and did it anyway!) They changed slightly for a time after I was diagnosed with cancer, but now that it's old news I'm back to being the odd one out. And last month my one and only friend there passed away from her cancer. I'm working through these issues with God in my prayer time. So I'm not rejecting the Church but they are rejecting me.

I struggle with Chronic anxiety and I'm still healing from past hurt, so it's difficult for me to meet at a place where I don't know know anyone. I really want my fiance to go with me and is considering it, so I please ask for prayers that he does go with me and stays for each sermon, and understands why it's important to go. I didn't even fully understand why it was important to keep going myself. Luckily, the church I started attending is a small church that's a 12 minute walk away from my place. I was offered and given rides, plus the pastor is humbling and his wife is a sweetheart, the deacon is humbling, and some of the church members and when we have missionaries come visit, it feels like a family reunion I actually want to go to. Hopefully this will be the right church for both me and Trei and that he'll understand the importance of attending. I'm going to show him this video. Thank you for your steadfast teaching of the word of God. I'm am so glad that you shared with us, and thank for explaining that there are times we must leave a fellowship. We must remember that it is sometimes the leaders who represent the church that are perverted ,and who are wolves dressed in sheep clothing (Matthew 7:15) they are false prophets, and some are predators trying to steal kill and destroy the church which are God's people. The Bible tells us that even though we will experience these things ; the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church (Matthew 16:18 ). Blessings to you and your ministry brother Parr.

Love your videos Allen! Im getting back into church attendance after a 10 year hiatus and fell hard back into the world. It wasn't till about a year ago that I started attending a new church, but left after I saw some red flags. In this day and age, it is almost impossible to find a sound biblical church. And yes, I've been hurt and got bitter. I can't afford to be bitter. I ended up going back to my old church from my youth which got very, very toxic, but now is beginning to heal and I can see the holy spirit move! I think for now, God wants me there. I love God's people even though they can drive me a bit crazy at times. We're in this battle together. United we stand, divided, we fall! Brothers and sisters, if any of you belong to a good, bible believing church, praise Yahweh! It is rare to find a good church so if you do, embrace it and grow in your faith! Corporate worship is powerful. Amen!

Thank you brother for this! I’ve been at my local church since 2002. 20 years. I’ve loved it and still do. I’ve been wanting to serve in the music ministry but it took 3 months just to get an answer and have been asked to start off with the youth - thing is, I’m 40. So it’s a bit weird… but I’ll take what I can get. I didn’t think I was gonna get an answer for a while so I went out to evangelise instead and do open-air worship. It was just for myself and a few friends but now others have joined in and it’s been great. I’ve written a few songs that I’ve been wanting to do with the music team but it just never happened and I’m not sure it will. Last night, i watched the sermon online and one of the things that were said was that people are starting their own ministries outside of the church using church resources. This could be music or people and I felt like that was talking about me. I for one, wouldn’t out of my own strength even do something like that. That’s above me… and scary. Only by God, am I using the gifts for the body and the kingdom. I’m no Bruno Mars singer, I’m quite average but I can hold a note and sing in tune and harmonise bunt after hearing that part of the word, I may go in and chat with the Pastor cos I feel attacked if I am being ‘wicked’ - I’ve given up all creature comforts - entertainment, gaming, pop culture… I made those things an idol. All I have now, is time… and with that time, I wanna give it all back to God. Whatever it is… I feel lost and doubting that what I have been doing is wrong and wicked…

Thank you for this! I have had such a difficult time finding a church. I was a part of one for a couple of years, but never really fit in. I have been going to churches around San Diego, but I find some things wrong, with which I fundamentally disagree. A common problem is the loud, annoying music by Hillsong, et al, that is prevalent in so many churches. . And sadly, I have come to realize that most pastors are to one degree or another, narcissistic. Most are asleep to the times we are beginning to go through as the last of the last days are here. I can relate to your experiences as several of mine have been very similar. An experience I am still going through with a church has been so crippling to me that I have been at my lowest point spiritually since I rededicated my life five years ago. I didn't go anywhere this morning. I have become weary with trying to find a body to be a part of. I know none are perfect, but I cannot seem to find one with whom I relate Biblically (having a very high view of Scripture), prophetically (understanding the urgency of Christ's message of warning to those of us in our day), musically (more traditional style music with lyrics that are solid and full of good theology). I know I cannot give up my search for a church family. Thanks for the encouragement.

@@CastOut555 I feel the same about all of them. I think there is a time and season when we are a part of these institutions. At an appointed time, we are called out of them when we receive the Spirit of Christ, the Spirit of Truth. At that point, we hear the voice of the Son of God and are quickened by the Spirit. We are separated unto God and no longer look to men to guide and teach us. The only place I would fit in is with a group of people who have experience with being called out and only trust in God to teach them. Otherwise there would be no fellowship of the mysteries. The whole church system is still relying on the wisdom of men, the scriptures are still a mystery to them. That's why there are so many divisions and contradictions between sects and denominations. We are under tutors and governors until the time appointed by the Father. Then we are separate, called out. His church is the called out ones. We all have our time in Babylon, bring tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine by the sleight of MEN and their cunning craftiness whereby they lie in wait to deceive. That is how we are when we are still attending these gatherings and looking to MEN to guide us and teach us. @@jm1733 Um, I was actually replying and asking this question to the maker of the post Billy but I guess it didn't @ him,lol
But I think this was a convenient little accident as your response was perfect! I feel you 💯. I've read countless posts of people leaving thier church and still haven't been able to find a "good church" and it saddens me that there are those that are yearning to glorify God and want fellowship but the churches today are all corrupted and ran by granted "imperfect men" (yes imperfect men were chosen with great honor to do the will of God in biblical times) BUT these men today are prideful and don't follow the bible eventually leading the flock astray.
Even more unsettling, false teaching is more prevalent even more so today with all these New Age, New Faith, you name it movements permeating in the churches. I can write a whole book but long story short, I am an Ex-jw for 4 years now and I recently received the Holy Spirit....2 days ago! So I am doing a ton of research! YOUR comment spoke to me because I feel discouraged that I will never find a "church" to go to. I did research to put to rest my burning question, Does one even have to go to church ? My research showed that attending church is not for US but to glorify God so it's not about how comfortable we feel. However, I have suffered alot of "Church hurt" and I don't mind worshipping at home to myself.
I actually feel closer to God that way BUT I can't stop thinking about the scripture that talks about Jesus being the head of the church and we are the body of Christ so me leaving the church equated me leaving Christ. Along with research, I've also have dreams etc. So I'm still conflicted I suppose but I pray God will make everything clear to me. Your theory isn't too far fetched as the bible do talk about Bablyon the great being destroyed so maybe I should stay out of the church and did myself a favor?...ugh. It's a conundrum, lol

I'm going to have to listen to this in sections, but I love where you're going with this. Thankfully, I do not know any believers who have walked away from the Church of God. What drives me nuts, and a lot of other believers is that even when we're saved, some people are still asking "What church do you go to?" Hearing that question hurts, and it goes double to the believer with autism.
My issue was that I was miserable in the group that I grew up with, and most of it was, and still is made up of my extended family on my mother's side. I've got a huge passion for music, and smaller conservative churches don't know how to handle musicians like me, because if they'd let me, I'd be pushing some boundaries. No, I left that setting because God called me out to go to another church group, and the hospitality is better.

I'm so sorry to hear this! And this is absolutely not an easy situation... Anyone who says "just do this" must understand that it's a very uncomfortable "just do this"
But I would encourage you to look at what the Bible says about what forgiveness actually looks like... Often you'll find communication linked with it... A chance for reconciliation. Discussion, and revealing.
Does the other person/people know they've hurt you? And if you've tried to discuss it, are they interested in talking it out? Or do they dismiss it because it's uncomfortable...
I've discussed things with my church family, and though they never hurt me, sometimes I feel like they give me lip service to make the uncomfortable conversation go away... It's very unsatisfying
I don't think it's unreasonable to bring these topics up to find that resolution.
Lastly, I'll say, forgive means to "give up". It's giving up the right to be offended... So if you've truly forgiven, and given up the right of offense, then maybe what you're feeling isn't unforgiveness, but that feeling when something hasn't been resolved... That maybe it will happen again to you, or someone else, and it still needs to be talked about.
I am getting a little teary at that last statement, and again, I'm sorry this happened. I love you, sister in Jesus, and I'm praying for you and your church! :)

So I don't know why you're calling it temple worship, or attending temples...
It's more like a gathering place for the Temple to be built together.
I'm sure as the days approach the % of churches doing it wrong is growing... But there's a Godly, bible teaching church that you don't need, but actually needs you!

So far I don't agree with this video because the scripture doesn't command us neither does Jesus Command us to attend temples. So far what I heard was formulating scripture out of context burdening believers To attend temple worship and convince them to get locked into a denomination ecosystem that asks for money. My personal conviction ,it just doesn't quit fit the freedom we have in Jesus Christ which dwells in our physical temple. I've actually grown stronger in faith with Jesus Christ outside of the temples. What I mostly hear is people picking and choosing scripture that to convince people they should go to these temples where God does not dwell. It seems like placing a burden on believers or causing guilt if they don't " get in a church" it feels dishonest.

Late to the comment section, but let's feed the CZcams algorithm anyhow.
I had a church that I loved. A family that I was heavily attached to. Until the pastor in a private conversation made it every clear one side of the political aisle was not welcome in his eyes. It broke my heart. I had been going there for years. After that conversation, I had a pretty clear idea that I needed to find another place to be in worship. I didn't stop going to the one church. I started asking around. I watched some online videos of local families. I go to a church where I've learned more about the bible in under a year than I did at the previous in over 7 years. I felt like I had to relearn everything I knew. But I am closer to God and stronger in my walk. Thank you for sharing your experiences. Sometimes it's easy to fell alone when put into situations like that. Much love!

Thank you Brother Allen for this video. God's timing is incredible! I experience some church hurt but it was the after effects from what happened at my old home church. I was in College still recovering from a surgery during all of this. It was very sad to see most people I knew were no longer there & some people I knew left the church all together from what happened months after. After College, I was working but didn’t like that my job had me working on Sundays & the one Sunday I was off I went to church & my Pastor at the time was having a time for prayer & asking for people that wanted to pray during certain hours. I didn’t raise my hand because I wasn’t sure what hour would work for me with my work schedule having me come at different times & it was far from where I live. The Pastor called me out that I didn’t raise my hand & it made me very uncomfortable. I wasn’t sure & would have to check my schedule to see what time worked (I forgot my response a bit but my brother said I could’ve answered it better) and what the Pastor said to me in front of the congregation really rubbed me the wrong way. I was definitely hurt & I knew I wasn’t going to be staying at my old home church any longer but I know I didn’t want to stop going to a church so I was checking some churches on my own & finding a new home church for a few years. That was hard & difficult since I got use to going to church with my family at my old home church or with friends from College till Senior Year. I was use to always having company with me but I know it’s a step of growing up & little by little being independent as I would have to get out of my comfort zone to start over. I found a church but attending online for a while with the pandemic but it’s not far from home. The discipleship class really helped me gain community during the pandemic. I was hurt by some comments from someone to me in my group during it & I didn’t want that to be the reason I leave the church and with how the church was dealing with the pandemic really bugged me when my Dad wasn’t feeling well at home at the time. Let’s just say God really is teaching me some things during this and I know it is a process to forgive and not let the enemy win by trying to convince me to stay angry or starting to hate the church. I’m glad that the church is a Bible based church & my mom can tell by the sermons that the Pastors preach. I'm glad that I still watch the service even online and getting involved in the discipleship class. I would like to serve in a church again because at my old home church I was part of the worship team for a long time and really miss using my gifts in the church. To be honest I don't know if that is the church God wants me to call home again. I know that no church is perfect but I really don't want to go through the hurt again from what happened at my old home church since it brought up bad memories. I'm glad the leader of the group of the discipleship class encourages me to pray for God's wisdom & healing through all of this. If I serve I hope I don’t burn out again by using my gifts a lot at work & at church if I join the worship team. I hope to overcome feeling lonely & the hurt from what happened my old church (even though I saw the after effects of it) with God’s help when I go back in person again to attend.
I think about the youth from my old home church & know it was hard for them being there in person seeing from what what happened at my old home church. I hope they go back to attending church again & that God continues to heal them from church hurt years ago if that is holding them back.

Like you, my most important contributions to the Kingdom have been outside of the local church. I’ve been burned by the local church and I’ve hurt others in turn. However, I still believe in the importance of the local church and that it should receive the first-fruits of our time, talent and treasure. I serve at my church, playing bass on the worship team. I know I could do more (because I have in the past), but I’m not going to push any agenda or try to raise my profile. Hi Allen This is a great discussion. Im part of a very small church in upstate new york. About 30 people, less than 20 normally each sunday. Been going there about 12 years now. Anyway for a few years now I've also had temptations to stop attending church. Not sure why. But I know that if i remove myself I am removing myself from their covering and help with life. We really do care about eachother. They love me alot...this church loves me more than any other church i've ever been to. We do not fight, argue, or treat eachother poorly. Its not allowed in our church. I am so thankful to be part of a church where we really do love eachother. Its extremely rare. So Ive decided that even though there are occasionally things that I dont like about church, there are more good things than bad.

One of the recurring types of church hurt for me is clique-ish behavior in churches. It's been in every church I've ever belonged to and I'm getting really burned out from it. People don't see cliques as big deals or as sin, but I believe it is sin. The sin of partiality as the letter of James speaks about. They hurt really bad as well. He and his gossip-loving wife lived lavishly and put the burden on the members. That was the last time we talked. He died with COVID-19. Good riddance, I thought. Now our church is slowly reviving. Pray me that I forgive him and let go of the resentment, and for our local church, because his legacy was a church indifferent for the lost.
Oh, did I mention that he actively condemned on the pulpit, me and the discipleship group I was starting? To think that all I did was with his permission, but the "spiritual" wife always feeds him rubbish! I would love to be a part of a church.
I come from a conservative background where fighting in the church was the regular thing, splitting up etc
No good fruits to show for.
I lost my faith in God after growing up in that environment.
In my 20's I found my way to a personal relationship with God at home, and since then for 4 years I've been trying to find a church .
What I find in a church today is nothing compared what the Bible talks about tho .
Christians attend church just for the sake of feeling good, like they got a stamp that they have been to church and now go home after.
No intimacy , no caring very self centered , no influence on the community . No helping the poor .
And with covid the willingness to shut the doors for 2 years (I'm in canada)
Idk I really want to be part of a church, but a church that wants to behave sacrificial, help others , be there for one another, be there for society and make a change.
Why should I settle for a lukewarm church that let me loose faith in God prior in my life.
I want to be part of a church , I don't want to settle for superficial Christianity tho
