    It's heartwarming to see that if you really want to, you can still use classical riding principles in modern competition.

    Beautifully done!
    It would be even more amazing without spurs but this lady sure knows how to ride
    It almost looks like the horse has golden hooves :P

      In an FEI competition, you actually have to use spurs. And she's such a good rider that she would only use them if she really needed to.

      +Avery Hanlon A lot of competition riders told me that it's your own choice rather you wear them or not.
      Does it count for every sport?

      +Avery Hanlon the higher sport classes"

    • @averyhanlon431
      @averyhanlon431 Před 8 lety +9

      It only counts for FEI dressage classes. It is mandatory that riders wear spurs, but they can wear whatever size they want.

    There is a MAJOR problem with this routine and it is so obvious that even a novice can see it...... it was WAY to short. It should have been at least a half hour at minimum. Then directly after the standing ovation they should have been required to do it one more time :)

    All modern dressage horses tend to be hollow in the back in extended gaits due to the quest for flashy front end action.
    Valegro, due to sheer talent can get away with it.

    • @thatblondeequestrian7673
      @thatblondeequestrian7673 Před 4 lety +14

      Valegro is not hollow. He is using his hind end so well and is pushing himself and using his back. Valegro is one of the best classically trained horses in modern dressage!

    Unbelievable, this horse has an arched neck not Topline which is required for correct dressage.

    • @marymeehan6145
      @marymeehan6145 Před 4 lety +1

      @Frida Gylterud arched neck does not mean horse is using topline muscles. A good quality horse will have lovely rounded neck when using topline muscle.
