- Thanks for watching today's trip report! This was part 2 of my report from Casablanca to Lisbon! Despite the unresponsive IFE screens and the meal services, I definitely enjoyed flying on HiFly's Airbus A340-300! This flight (TP259 from Lisbon to Toronto) was supposed to be operated by TAP Air Portugal's Airbus A321neo just like the first leg from YYZ to LIS! However, TAP leased a few of their routes to HiFly Airlines (Portuguese charter airline) including this one! I'm glad things turned out this way as it was my first time flying on the A340! Loved seeing the pair of jet engines. last time flew on a 4 engine jet was over 10 years ago on an Air Canada A340 - Ottawa to Toronto of all things!

@@pilotyoussef It was so many years and flights ago I don't specifically remember too much other than seeing the pair of engines on the wing as I boarded and being somewhat surprised and saying to the flight attendant who greeted me "is this an A340???????" And it was. It would have been in Ottawa to clear a backlog of passengers for flights cancelled by storms - they often substitute a large plane when weather cancels or delays a bunch of Rapidair flights. I did have a good view of the wings onboard and of course took photos - I'm and avid though the window photographer!
Great flight experience! After all, despite the rather poor onboard experience (regarding the IFE system mostly...), you were lucky indeed to fly an A340 in 2022! :)
Thanks! Yeah tell me about it!!! Flying the A340 was one of the best experiences I’ve had while flying! I don’t travel too often so I knew this would probably be my last chance to fly the A340 so I’m glad I made this report!

Ah... The good'ol A343, with its worryingly long take-off rolls and the same climb rate as a brick.
can you say something about the seat ( as hifly has 9 abreast compared to the standard on a304/330 of 8 abreast)
Did you enjoy Portugal? I lived there for a few years back in the late 80’s, early 90’s. I’m sure things are very different now.
Unfortunately I only had a overnight layover at Lisbon. I stayed at a hotel nearby the airport so I couldn’t do much exploring there but from what I heard Portugal is a relatively nicer place to visit and live! I’m sure it’s changed from the 90s too

Why were you on hi fly
I was supposed to be on TAP but my flight got rescheduled for HiFly because for the month of August, HiFly operated the LIS-YYZ route for TAP
Are you insane? The first meal of the flight was lunch and not dinner. And the second meal was a light snack and not breakfast... Really???
