Adorable card, Kelly. Love how you created the scene with a brick wall. Never thought of that just sunrise/sunset, grass and maybe a house. Your coloring is amazing!
Thanks for the insight into design teams. Not something I want to do because of the stress but I love several companies’ items and love to see what the designers come up with.
Also, love your honesty. Meant to put that in your other post. Being true to yourself and others isn’t for everyone but as I’m getting older I think it is so important.

Wow...great job on the bricks. They look real .... which is the goal.....of course. You are clearly an artist. Listening to you describe how one "works" for a stamping company" is fascinating. I sort of thought each stamp company had their own in-house design team.
Also, listening to you describe why you're doing the things you're doing is very helpful.

Thank you also for that insightful information about design teams, once it crossed my mind, but I've also heard about requirements and I am not the kind of person that likes to be tied to a scheduled or time-line. I love what I do, and this is my hobby, my craft room is my safe haven where I can spend hours, relax, unwind and enjoy the creative part of me, and whether a card takes me 5mins, a day or 2 to complete its entirely up to me. Kelly, this is one of my favorite cards that you have done. It almost looks like no line coloring because the stamp lines are so delicate and thin, and the background looks amazing. Thank you for the information you shared and I look forward to hearing what else you have to say on the matter. I’ve noticed a lot of my favorite crafty CZcamsr’s have stopped working for a particular popular distributor, and it makes me wonder why.
Well now I’m feeling left out (and incredibly unobservant). Which company are folks no longer working with? I hadn’t even noticed! 😳

Love this topic of conversation; it is interesting. I do find it appalling that design team members are not offered monetary compensation. (But I doubt I could make the concept work in reverse…like…”Hey, send me that stamp set and I will make 5 cards with it over the next 15 years. We good?” I am pretty sure they expect money for it.) Also, love that you did not outline the image. The delicate outline sort of disappears and gives the whole card the appearance of “no line.”

My other questions about design teams are: How far ahead to you get the products before the release? Do you get any say in which products you receive?
I don’t plan on applying for any design teams due to my unpredictable work schedule and I do believe it would take the fun out of creating for me. I do think it would be cool to be asked to be a guest designer because that would be a huge compliment.

I was on crate paper and several others and I can agree with you that you must love ❤️ the product otherwise you won’t be inspired 😞 it is very time consuming also and I just got burned out 🙃 I just love doing my own thing with no pressure

super cute card. I think the part I would struggle the most on would be the black seat. The hair as well, but I think mostly that dark black seat would have snagged me up.

Kelly can you recommend another alcohol marker besides copic that blend’s similar? Not wanting to break the bank . New at this.

Are you asked to sign a written agreement when working with these companies? I think that's something I would require. That way the company and I both know what's expected of us.

If the designer has a following they need compensation, product and affiliates sales. Designers are marketing for them and they use their own equipment , imagination and time.
