Sean Rennie - Lonely days

Sean Rennie was born on 23 June 1941 in Belfast, Ireland, and had a passion for music from a very early age. At the age of 10 he auditioned for the Vienna Boys Choir but wasn’t accepted. He moved to South Africa in 1964 and formed the band “Purple Haze” in 1966. They toured South Africa, playing at pleasure resorts and popular watering holes until 1974 when Sean continued his career as a solo artist.
He married Pat in 1971 and had 3 sons, Brendon, Eamon and Kieran, and lived in Kempton Park until he passed away on 17 June 2021, 6 days before his 80th birthday.
Sean Rennie had two South African Top 20 hits:
1. I’ll Walk With You - 1970, #13, 5 weeks
2. Charly - 1974, #4, 13 weeks
