    You don't put the transfer case in neutral to get pulled out of being stuck. You only put it in neutral for things like flat towing behind an rv motor home.
    I read years ago one way to keep your 4wd from being stolen is to put the transfer case in neutral. It would not move unless the T case is engaged.

    Are you in gear while shifting to four wheel drive?

    Do you know or anyone out there know how 4 HI and Auto are effected if pulling a trailer. I need it at times with snowy / sloshy roads while pulling my fifth wheel with my 1 Ton but did not see any information in the owner’s manual about using either ‘while pulling’ the trailer.

    My 2018 Chevy 1500 did the same thing but my new 2020 1500 4 x 4 instead of four low it has a little truck going up the hill. What’s the difference with that is that not 4lo?

    Does this apply to the 2019 model as well? Thank you I always thought you needed to be moving to switch AWD to 4Hi and back to Auto. If I heard correctly, you don't need to be moving, just in Gear (D)

    Thanks for the info. How fast can go driving with auto egage without damaging the transfer case?

      I’m not sure of the exact limits, most literature says highway speeds.

    That truck has the Z71 badge on it but how come its not on the dashboard? I seen the older models like 2018 have the z71 on the dash and this one doesnt?? Thanks!

    I just picked up a 2024 trail boss custom and when my truck is in park engine running and you hit the four high or auto button nothing happens. I have to already be rolling in gear for it to engage. Is this normal? I haven't been in a Chevy in fourteen years so I'm lost on this new tech

    Can u change from sports mode to normal mode while driving

    • @JSS
      @JSS  Před 8 měsíci

      I don’t remember the different modes other than 4x4 modes. In most vehicles you can shift on the fly (while driving)

    I’ve used 4hi in a occasion, now I’ve noticed that one of my sides is higher than other and won’t adjust

      One of your sides? The sides of your truck? Please explain further.

    So 4 HI locks the diffs? What I'm getting from this is that 4 HI, 4 LO locks the differentials, and AUTO is 4WD, but with the differentials unlocked?

      Auto is AWD all wheel drive if you change your display in center of cluster you will see it goes into AWD

    Thank you I was just going to dig out the owner's manual !! Is there a good video talking about Silverados and various terrain? (like for dummies)?

    Does one have to be stopped to change from two to four wheel drive?

    • @DavisEnterprize84
      @DavisEnterprize84 Před 7 měsíci

      No. You can switch between 2high, Auto, and 4high while driving "normal" speed limits. You have to be in neutral to get into 4Low

      Highway speeds. I don’t believe there is a stated limit.

    I live in Michigan and I just got a 2022 silverado 2500. I pushed the 4hi button while in park and it wouldn't stay in 4hi. It said processing then it went back to 2wd. What's wrong? Should I take it to service?

      My 2023 does the same thing. It has worked in the past but now it will not engage any 4x4 mode. The screen flashes up that it’s switching, stays that way for about 10 seconds and then simply returns to 2 wheel drive mode.
