From Unwanted Shelter Dog to Most Loved Family Dog | Rosco the Mastiff X

- The story of Rosco started at the farm about 10 months ago. He was aggressive towards other dogs and quite serious in attitude. He frightened a lot of people with his demeanour and looks. Dogs too.
We were told he was brought in by the police after a drug bust. He was trained as a guard dog and had to be pepper sprayed to get him out of the house he was in.
He underwent rehabilitation training for many months. And the longer he was here the more we got to see the real Rosco. A funny goofy guy, warm and incredibly loyal and protective.
Luke fell for this guy very early on. His serious face for every possible occasion, his half bitten off ear and loud low growling no matter what his mood is, only made Luke love him more.
It took me a little longer to see the real Rosco. The gruff was a little hard to see through. But when I did, I discovered the most gentle and loyal heart you could imagine. Without a doubt this dog would die defending his Luke and now of course his family who he is committed to with every sense of his being.
If the children or I am outside, his job is to put himself between us and the big pack. If someone comes to the gate, his job is to lean back on mum and sit on her feet watching the threat ahead. He sits in front of the kids when the dogs run past too fast. He grumbles at the dogs when they’re too rambunctious for his liking when the kids are about.
Rosco is the most beautiful soul. A true family dog. He has found his heaven on earth … finally. And heaven to Rosco truly is a life lived with family. Children, an owner that has his back no matter what. His own pack to protect. He loves his fellow mate in charge, Freddo. The brotherhood is real. He loves his little sister Cutie Pie who he lies down and wrestles and nuzzles her with such gentleness. Even Kitty with her sass, Rosco previously would have had Kitty for breakfast, now he loves her too knowing she is Evie’s beloved kitten and an important member of his family here at the farm.
For those that missed it back when we announced it, yes we adopted Rosco. Luke just couldn’t let this guy go. And to be honest, knowing Rosco now and how deep his love runs, he would have literally dug his heels in and not budged past those gates or simply found his way back. He’s an Evans and we love him so and all his grumbles.
There’s so many dogs like Rosco in the pound and in rescue. Waiting for their person who has their back to walk in and save them. And in return … they’ll love you with every little hair on their head. And yes, you might feel they even save you too.
Thank you to everyone that supports the farm and helps us give Rosco his very best life here at the farm everyday.

I love Rosco and Freddo. I tear up every time Luke says they're staying at the Farm. Such beautiful, loyal dogs. Well done Sam and Luke. I can't imagine the Farm without those two. ❤️❤️❤️
Roscoe's story really melts my heart, the transformation over the months has been beautiful to witness. You could see the love and devotion Luke had for him from the start, and Roscoe has repaid that love and trust in spades. Roscoe is friend and protector to all, living his best life with a family who adore him, the biggest happiest marshmallow you will ever see. God love him. Xx💓🙋
I had a lump in my throat watching that. I knew Luke could rehabilitate Rosco, but with respect, I don't think even Luke could've envisaged such a remarkable transformation in those early days. He is such a sweet happy playful dog now... and so talkative LOL. It's so heartwarming to see this huggable marshmallow "Tiger". I think what gives me the warmest feelings, is just seeing how relaxed and content he is, and it's not just for the first time in his life, but for the REST of his life. Well done Rosco. Thank you Luke and Sam. I know you're proud of Rosco, but take a bow yourselves 👏

Roscoe is another one of those special boys. He warms your heart. Luke may have called it but like Sam said Roscoe has no intention of going any where. No water to deep or fence to high to keep him away from his family. Freddo and Roscoe are so sweet together now that they have figured out their rolls in the pack. I love how Roscoe will sit on Sam's feet to protect her and keep her safe. Get in between the dogs and the kids what a great boy.

He's the perfect deputy to Sherrif Freddo, The Farm just would not be the same without him.
We need to add "diamond miner" to Luke's many talents, because he knew a diamond in the rough when he saw one! Their relationship is beyond special. 💞

Rosco: From Ferocious Tiger to Marshmallow Tiger in under 6 months. A wonderful achievement for both Luke & Rosco. The latter is a dog with real canine 'smarts'. He figured out quickly that respecting, trusting & obeying Luke, as well as understanding Luke's pack leader role was working out well for him. When he softened life became extra good for him. With Luke's help, he found a leadership role in the pack as a partner to the very family-protective Freddo. They became mutually respectful of each other, happy to use teamwork to succeed in protecting their humans & ultimately became mates. This magnificent physical specimen fast became a popular pack member as well as an unlikely lap-dog.

I remember cheering him in the pool on the day the video was posted. I was in awe of how many he could hold. Rosco is the most talkative marshmallow who thinks he’s a lap dog. I’ve had a dog like that that when I returned home from work used to talk to me for 3 minutes like he was telling all that went on while I was gone. Or chewing me out for leaving in the first place. There’s something special about a talkative dog that chatters away at you.♥️♥️

I fell for Roscoe immediately when he arrived with his three shelter "friends". There was something about him. Love his grumbly talkative ways and playfulness and love of water. 😇💖🙏🙌

All the years of watching The Farm my absolute favourite clip of all time, is when Rosco has a mouthful of toys in the pool and won’t get out, I love watching it over and over again.
I love Roscoe and his language!! "Grumbledorf" Roscoe is what he speaks!" For such a big, handsome pup; he is a love bug. I was so happy when Luke said, "I'm calling it Babe, and that was it Roscoe was part of the family!" Sam said it best, as she thought that Roscoe thought he already was part of the family!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Its an automatic reaction for me, when I log in to CZcams, and I see The Farm, my smile must light up the room, Yay another Farm video, yes, cup of tea forget the house work, lets relax and watch, Sam and Luke that is what you videos do, give smiles, laughs, and relaxation as I watch, Im sure Im also talking for a lot of other people who sit back just enjoy.

I love all dogs, but I do have a special place in my heart for a big dog, so much more to ruff around and give good hearty pat's to... and especially keep you warm on cold nights in bed! ❤️

Rosco, it seems to me, grew up in a context of violence, raised by morons who only saw in him his strength and used it for their traffic, he only obeyed and had never known the love of a family, the happiness of playing with other dogs and toys, now that he has known all that, thanks to Luke, Sam, Jason and all the team, he is a golden dog, confident, happy and full of love for the little family and the pack. I have to admit, I fell for Freddo pretty quickly. Not so much with Roscoe. I watched the videos of him with a great deal of tension, but he won out! He proved me totally wrong and really quite quickly turned into a truly lovely boy - which must have been how he was all along, except for the circumstances he used to be in. Well done to everyone at the farm for giving him that opportunity most of us wouldn't have.
Amazing how far that sweet boy came. He hooked Luke right away and is now part of the Evans family forever.

Thought Roscoe was coolest dog ever from beginning. His tender heart was most likely broken in his previous life. So happy Roscoe lives with you now, and we can enjoy his wonderful personality. Love when he climbs pool walls or fences, and his sweet face hiding from the scary grooming van. : )

I'm not a dog behavior expert but to me when Rosco was in his aggressive state the look on his face he looked like he was very scared and now he's such a sweet cuddle bug, good boy, having the time of his life, playing, cuddles, petting, swimming, and doggie friends God bless all that you do and God bless all the dogs

I can't believe Rosco was pepper sprayed. That's down right cruel. You'd think that the police would use a tranquilizer to apprehend an aggressive dog. Well...that's the past, and I'm sure Rosco has completely forgotten that ordeal. Roscoe from the beginning just did what he had to do to be accepted, and he worked hard, and finally paid off. The kids love him, kind hearted Elle telling dad, if no-one wants him then she'd want him...the beginning of all good things to come his way....swimming , playing, walking, running all to his heart's content. Fiercely guards and loves Luke and can never get enough cuddles, laps or feet. He's earned his stripes ☺💙
