reusing same desc as yesterday cba. talking about whether or not firefly leaked another for patch 2.3 with her mention of going to suffer from "3 deaths" so I wanted to try and explain firefly 3 deaths. i am on a historic stretch rn. Ive lost 6 50/50s in a row and the 75/25 on acherons weapond banner. this is insane lmao. and its all like insane pity. like 84 or whatever. anyway recapping and explaining the honkai star rail 2.2 trailblaze quests and story "In Our Time". i havent been responding to comments the last day cause this video ate all my time lol. the quest serves as the climax for penacony's story as we really get to see who the traitor for the family really is. i liked the quest. the way they portrayed the misha-watchmaker dynamic was really cool and instead of misha just blanked being the watchmaker. Robin played a fun role in the story, acherons name was confirmed to be raiden bosenmore mei, and harmony trailblazer is actually cracked no? Didnt really really expect Sunday to go all super boss mode in the end, but happens ig. im seeing pople say firefly gameplay leaks suggest she needs harmony TB, but like even on there own. its quite the powerful kit for a free one.

Her third death being a real death can have 2 possibilities. Either she dies irl and lives in the dream forever as a dream bubble or whatever that one guy in that one story quest was, or the dreamscape truly ends, which was one of her main ways of being able to be “firefly” instead of Sam as her condition worsens, forcing her to give up the indentity of her real body. One thing that never sat right with me however was firefly’s eyes in her splash art, and how… lifeless they seemed. Something’s telling me they might actually kill her, her being a 5 star doesn’t change that as pulling for her would be the only way to “keep her memory alive”
Or the death could mean the death of her past self. She gets to embrace a new life. We’ve seen it in Arle’s story quest.
and in HI3 they have multiple S rank units that are canonically dead (Himeko & most of the 13 Flame Chasers)
Remember what Acheron told us before we went to disrupt Ena's dream? That unless we succeed, the only way Firefly would be able to leave the dream was through an actual death.
@@MrsSetsuna101 It's tricky to think that because Acheron did say that Firefly woke up ahead of everyone. Acheron also wasn't present during the party's ascent to the Grand Theater so she probably didn't know about Firefly's 3 deaths.
I think her 3rd death is really methaporical, she said she always wanna centure the world and always dreamt of being a nameless, so the possible 3rd death is probably the death of SAM the stellaron hunter, and the birth of firefly the nameless
A 3rd death and the fact that HSR does not shy away from killing playable characters I'm somewhat afraid of what Shaoji has in store for her. BUT as Robin said:

And the fact that Elio said that both Firefly and the Trailblazer would reap unforgettable gains fills me with hope that EVEN if we do not get a happy ending with her, we will most definitely get a bitter sweet one.
(As I was typing this I realized all the "dead" playable characters are all not real. It was not the real Tingyun, Misha is just a "thing" from the memory bubble, and Gallagher is a "fiction".)

Gallagher being a History Fictionologist is quite funny. Because of that you can interpret his saying of "Once something fictional is seen through, it ceases to exist." as either:
a. Gallagher is a memetic entity that functions by the principles of Mythus
b. He is abandoning the character of "Gallagher". Again, by the principle of Mythus the character "Gallagher" has lost it's mystery and the History Fictionologist behind "Gallagher" needs to give it up.
If it's the second I can see them coming back in another shape or form.
It's funny to me that Xipe, an aeon that absorbed another was initially seen as evil and after 2.1 Gallagher being revealed by Sunday to be a History Fictionologist caused people to realise the guy belonging to the faction that obscures history is the bad guy. Then 2.2 comes along revealing the true villains of the chapter to be neither, and the previously viewed evil are benign and helpful to the Trailblaze.

I really like his gameplay with HMC, but he is just a tall white man with brown hair and brown eyes as a 4 star in a character with magical waifus, I never fell for him being the bad guy. I mean, sure Tingyun was the bad guy, but Luofu's story wasn't half as good ad Penacony, and Cocolia isn't playable so well not a 4 star either?
All “dead” playable characters are not real in HSR world to begin with. As long as FF is a real entity I think we’re good. But the question is, is she real? We don’t know that Misha and Gallagher were not real until we’re into 2.2.

Robin has stated in the grand theater that “death” was tied to Ena’s power. With that being gone, well, death in Penacony is now possible.
I guess she will die as a Firefly and survie as a Sam.

5:00 -- Firefly almost certainly knows and recognizes TB. She eyes them first thing when she's running away from the Bloodhounds, for instance. The whole thing about pretending to follow them around the Dream when she's trying to follow the script really only makes sense assuming Firefly is well aware of who TB is and remembers them from before. The achievement for the Sam fight (old friends; new friends, paraphrasing) - seems to reference this.
I read a fan-made manga and her LC lore. I'm starting to believe that it was the Trailblazer who recruited Firefly to the Stellaron Hunters before Elio instructed him/her to find Kafka.
TB also got a whole new body to host the Stellaron, that was the main reason they had to go to the Space Station, so TB probably looks different than they did before, and that's probably why she was eyeing TB

They have a devastating weapon, the one the old man from the Genius Society was forced to make, becoming Star Rail's Oppenheimer.
If we watch her die again I think I might cry
she died off screen before Sunday final battle according to what Acheron said to us.
I mean, depending on how literal Elio takes her "death", it's also possible to take the route of Stellaron Hunter Sam "dying", leaving only the identity of Firefly (making herself more known by people as a regular girl who wants to save Penacony, like her move against Ena's dream, basically), although her lifespan probably wouldn't be that long still because of her sickness. However, it doesn't seem like she's going to abandon the mecha suit based on her splash art and other leaks so that might contradict that theory.
Another route could be a "death and rebirth" situation. How that would go, I have no idea.
And lastly, something might happen for her to sacrifice herself for the greater good, and it might be this time where she dies on her own terms as Firefly, and yeah, it'll be a bittersweet ending if that's the case.
So yeah, these are my current speculations for now.

Well, there is so many references to the Honkai eruptions of HI3.
I wonder if firefly is a half-Kiana expy, being that like Kiana, she has alot of similarities to her, be it the white-silver hair, a battle suit, being a test-tube baby, and basically having no parents.
Just one found solace in their foster father, taking up the kaslana name, and moving forward, and the other is still looking for their hope and future, taking refuge in the stelleron hunters, and finding some of that hope in us, and hopefully, the whole journey of penacony.
Also, from what I’ve been seeing, the 3rd “death” has been described as an either true spiritual death, or a death to end everything, b/c from what everyone outside and in the dialogue of penacony has been saying, this 3rd death would cause her body to become mixed into the dreamscape, unable to escape, trapped inside penacony forever, like the dude who made the giant cannon that destroyed 14 planets.
Another thing is that she would go insane, “dying” and becoming something else, no longer being firefly, but rather more like a memory-zone meme, still be alive, but no longer the person we knew.
People have been saying that past deaths have been fakes of the original, and while true, I feel like it’s getting us ready for more true deaths, because it’s a Honkai game, the idea their isn’t would probably break Dawei and co.
But let’s hope for her to have a happy end, and hopefully, find what she’s looking for. (Would be ironic if she died, the treasure blade has been looking for was given to the person he was driving besides, and beat him up to join the stelleron hunters, would be an ironic twist of fate.)
Nah, you're over reading into the HI3 references. You can easily see them just within the world situations. Acheron's is clearly filled with PE references, but firefly and Glammoth also strongly represent the dying world fighting its fate and resorting to gene manipulation(MANTIS) whereas Acheron's was closer to using "herrchers" and "the end". If she were meant to be even a slight easter egg to kiana, they would have made it obvious.
@@darknessknows1235 fyi, the scenes we see Acheron being related to in some way, is NOT Previous Era, it's "Current Era", the era where K-423 and Raiden Mei comes from. Previous Era ended because the Flamechasers were unable to stop the Herrscher of the End
@@zigazav1 That clearly isn't true because Acheron or Hoyo shows no indication of a Kiana on Izumo while there IS a Kevin. Likewise, they clearly are on the first "run" against the Herrscher like beings and are creating the Divine Key expies which is what PE did, not CE. Acheron even makes a Sakura reference, where Sakura is more or less only a PE related character in order for "Mei" to meet her.
I noticed something interesting when rewatching the scenes where she parts ways to fight her own battle:
She says that she "dreamed of a scorched earth" and it's very similar to her quote in 2.0. But in her conversation with Acheron in 2.1, she said that she was born without the ability to dream. Maybe that's the error in her dream and why she noticed she was in Ena's Dream.
That being said, I doubt that Firefly will die for real in 2.3. No character died the patch they got playable and she deverses a happy ending after all of her sacrifices

Happen to find an interesting fan-made manga that I translated and read Firefly's LC story.
the gist is mainly if her 3rd death is metaphorical or not, every time she says it its always in quotations, the whole "i want my tombstone to say firefly" can also mean that her existance as just sam, the stellaron hunter (a weapon) is death, and her life as a common girl (firefly) begins, at the end of the day from what we know the script is always narrated in a cryptid way, so not all the words should be taken at face value, already the term "experience death 3 times" is wacky, we noticed that 2 of them are metaphorical, as you said, banner 5* how do you kill it in that same patch? at that point make her a 2.2 character so you at least have 1 patch for it. so far only 4* characters have died, we can expect some 5* to die eventually but i really doubt they will do it this early, im not into hi3 lore, but im pretty sure most units that die there usually have like, some patches to develop before their ultimate demise

Killing her for real would be nuts, she's one of if not THE most liked character at the moment. They had a fckn VR date just for her in a carnival in China with hour long queues.
The chance is not zero only because the story is written in advance, so they can't foresee how well a character will be received. I can only imagine how everyone would react if they actually did it.

Tbh, I think the answer on her third death was in that car ride scene with Blade. It's not her actually dying at all, but to live on as a human. She can no longer be a 'Weapon' from how she views her perspective in life. The Iron Calvary of Glamoth, the Stellaron Hunters, these are organizations that require SAM, a weapon. Not Firefly, a person.
So all things considered? I believe the third death will be her putting her nature as a Organization's weapon to rest. In kind, if she does fight, it'll simply be for herself, she';ll live for herself, as Firefly. So the third 'death' will be one of identity, and tbh, I think she's going to be one of the few people quitting the Stellaron Hunters after this arc. Penacony in itself, her issue with dreaming (the Titania lore which is linked to the weird way she entered the dreamscape) is one of the few Stellaron Hunters ACTUALLY getting their answers experienced in the script.
Maybe she leaves the stellaron hunters and joins the express...

4:23 it’s possible the script told her about Ena’s dream, albeit in a cryptic way. Though if you interpret her saying that she only understands her second death now as that she didn’t have any context beforehand, that theory kind of falls apart.
Also, there’s a mini quest (objective with an exclusive reward that doesn’t actually show up in the quest log, like how you get the origami bird profile picture) where you can help Robin find something of Sunday’s in the penacony grand theater because she’s not sure if he’s dead or not. During that quest, she says that the only reason death was an impossibility in the dreamscape was due to the influence of the order, and now that it’s gone, death, or at least lasting injuries sustaining through the dream are a very real possibility. Given that and the script saying firefly will experience death 3 times in the land of the dreams specifically, it’s not just a possibility she’ll die, it’s practically a guarantee.
how do you get the mini quest?

I got this hidden quest while exploring the Grand Theater. I don't know if this is how you trigger the quest, however. Robin messaged TB asking her to find proof of what happened to Sunday.
I think it really WAS told to her by the script in a cryptic way that she only understood after knowing the full picture, Acheron said as much herself (she was aided by the script somehow).

If 2.3 wasn’t when her banner was first running, I’d think her death would be a very real possibility but since it is, I have doubts they’ll kill her off in 2.3 which is most likely the last patch of the Penacony story (until we inevitably return later). Besides, she’s still a Stellaron Hunter so she couldn’t exactly die as Firefly. She hasn’t moved on from that yet and she wants to die as a human, not as a weapon and last time we saw her, she transformed into Sam, a literal weapon and her role as a Hunter is to fight.

I think her "real death" isn't one in real life. Firefly came into the dreamscape not from the bath things, so I think her "real death" is just dying in the dreamscape to go back to reality. She hasn't done this yet so that's why it's called a "real death." When the dormancy monster stabbed her it wasn't really a "real death" cuz she just went to the Dreamflux Reef. Also, Firefly says that she hopes to meet the MC in reality. That means she should be alive and well so she can meet us, right?
Edit: Also can someone explain to me what the Order's dream is again? When I played the whole Penacony story, I was like confused the whole time about what anything even meant.
the orders dream is just a regular dream where everyone lives what they believe to be a perfect life. the problems with it are Sunday forced everyone into Enas dream, and if you dont awaken you just lose urself in it forever

You hope she's safe and well then". And also various news claims that according to leaks, 2.3 whole update is significantly dedicated to Firefly, her past, about her Entropy Loss Syndrome and quests to find cure for her Entropy Loss Syndrome. Now, let's see how she will attain her 3rd death. Though I don't want her to die.

She talks about how when she dies she wants to be remembered by Firefly rather than Sam or Glamoth iron calvary but all of those version of herself are still her. But considering her illness and when she dies it'll be as firefly since all those closest to her (Hunters/Express) know shes just another girl despite having the ability to pilot a mech

Ngl, when I heard about this 3 deaths thing I was REALLY confusing..... NOW THINGS ARE A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTABLE WHICH I'M GRATEFUL FOR. I wonde, how close Firefly and Traiblazer were in their Stelleronish days.... CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVEN MORE. I love hsr's world building with still so many things we've yet to visit and expirience.

The reason that Firefly doesn't recognize Trailblazer at first should be pretty simple. This is from Kafka's story quest, the same as the Blade quote:

Kafka: You are an artificial body created for the purpose of hosting a Stellaron. From the moment of your birth, it was your destiny to receive the Stellaron at Herta Space Station. Before that task was complete, I was responsible for protecting you, as well as teaching you general knowledge, common sense, and combat skills.
Kafka: The reason you don't remember is that I wiped your memory before the operation at Herta Space Station.
So, we got a brand new body when we woke up on the Space Station, meaning we probably look at least a little different from we did as a Stellaron Hunter.
As for Firefly's third "death" the current going fan theory I've heard is that it's the "death" of Sam, and Firefly leaves the Stellaron Hunters and joins the Express, given how she talks to Sunday and HImeko telling her she has the Trailblaze spirit

We will maybe learn more about trailblazer's and firefly's relationship after penacony quest since the Kafka quest takes after most of the Loufu quest is done
If they want to kill her they could do that in 2.3. However I still believe the third death is something similar to what was mentioned in Arle’s story quest: the death of her past self. She gets to embrace a new life. Notice that in FF leaked gameplay, she is attacking enemies with different moves than what we’ve ever seen in any previous situations. This led me to believe she somehow got “reborn”.
Have you considered making a video about the idea of Sunday joining the Stellaron Hunters? I've seen a few people making theories on it and I rather like it.
i wonder if it’d be possible for her to become a memokeeper, knowing that memokeepers leave their mortal bodies. and that black swan said there are two memokeepers on penacony: one being herself, and the other being one we have no information on. maybe that’s too much of a stretch since it’d probably require her to be a follower of Fuli, but it just popped in my head
As black swan said, there are some minor details that revealed we where in a dreamscape all along. Misha's presence in the lobby or more subtle, the fact that the barkeeper sells soul glad. A drink where the lore specifically says it's lost for the real world because an essential ingredient went extinct and because of that is only available in the dreamscape
I think Firefly might have realized we're in Ena's dream likely from the script, or maybe in the beginning of the story, maybe when she entered the Asdana star system she noticed that her condition has changed or something like that, gathered intel from some other sources too, and realized what's happening.
I'm gonna comment here cuz i've been banned for 2 wekks on the HSR subreddit for talking leaks, but there are some really weird things about the ending that I feel weren't made clear
So, the fact that mishais seen in the lobby means that we were dreaming already when we first reached penacony. Does this mean that we never actually set foot in the phyisical Penacony? And if that's the case, does this mean that Ena's dream has been enacted since the very beginning? I assume not, because by the rules of Ena's dream, we shouldn't be experiencing ay sort of hardship while dreaming, which is very much not what happens in penacony.
Not to mention, when we first get woken up from Ena's dream by Black Swan, we are still in the Dreamscape, right? We're in the area where we first fought Sam. So whiel in the dreamscape, Acheron somehow gives Boothill the signal gun to call upon the other galaxy rangers, then when he uses it, is he still in the dreamscape? IF he has woken up, how did the signal gun come to his hand in reality? If thats still in the dreamscape, how is using the signal gun while dreaming able to call upon the galaxy rangers?
And finally, when we wake up to fight Sunday for real this time, is that still reality or the dreamscape? People aren't able to fall asleep in the dreamscape so it should be in reality (and it works better if we imagine it ties in with everyone else also waking up from Ena's dream), but then how does the crew conviniently wake up in front of Sunday nready to fight him? (All of the crew btw, despite the fact that Dan Heng and Welt weren't with us when we first fought Sunday)
There are just way too many questions and (what seems like) inconsistencies that are stopping me from fully enjoying this story, if someone has answers, PLEASE help me out here.
To simplify the how the crew got to Sunday part, lemme explain that; the Penacony we as the players experience is in fact NOT the real Penacony, but something created by the Order based on our memories, albeit not completely. As such, it means that the events the crew experience in the REAL version of Penacony happened almost identically to how we've experienced the story, however that also means there are certain flaws that each person experienced in their dreams. For the MC, it was Misha being in the Reverie in reality, which should be impossible. With that in mind, it's also possible that in the actual events that the whole crew DID end up fighting Sunday together, but lost and succumbed to the Dream of Order as a result. So basically we DID visit Penacony and DID do almost the exact same things as we did in the Dream of Order, minus the part where we supposedly defeated Sunday.
@@DespianGrimmPaldea I see. I would have liked for the story to properly explain that tho (unless my dumbass missed it), but that does seem to be the most commonly agreed answer. That said tho, we know Ena’s dream is all about the ✨pleasure✨so why would Sunday willingly make everyone go through the same hardships in Penacony until they fight him, when he could just theoretically have them have their dick sucked and sunbathing 24/7 from now on? I suppose it can just be seen as “oh plot needs to happen” which I guess I’ll accept. Or maybe Ena’s dream has a condition where it can’t change past events (besides the error that’s created) and can only change future events, which is why “everything is fine” right after Sunday’s fake defeat.
Idk, for all the padding this story does (like the entire SoulGlad sponsor segment or the 3 acts play) I really feel like they could spend that time properly explaining these types of things. Anyways, thanks for clearing that up

Did we all forget in the white night music video, there was a fight sequence between Acheron, and Frefly/Sam? We still have one more patch before the penecony story ends. But this is more of a reach. But it’s possible if the fight is in the dream. Also we still don’t know what the heck happened to aventurine after the blackhole meet.

I fucking love Firefly's va, especially when it came to her "tombstone" line. Despite her bravado when it came to facing death, she sounds like she's on the verge of tears, like she's not ready for it.
I mean, she IS still a Stellaron Hunter, so the idea that she's hiding a lot from us isn't a surprise. Hell, we could have been BFFs with her in the past, but has to put that behind her until the time comes to reveal everything to TB.

She just can't dream, so either this dream wasn't her own or she had somehow managed to do the impossible and willingly enter a dream.
Im hoping for a metaphorical death of sam the stellaron hunter into firefly the nameless as best case scenario... but damn it. Its hard to know as the only real deaths so far are cocolia, and duke inferno (i think theres enough reason to assume hes dead). The other aren't really real or just questionable (misha and gallagher... and tingyun). Thisll definitely be a big death for sure if it does happen. Guess it all depends on the format of 2.3

I think that the Trailblazer could have been someone who was able to achieve their dream with Elio. Like how Blade wants Death or how Kafka wants to feel Fear. Maybe the Trailblazer was able to achieve what they wanted. What that is still remains unknown, but I think this could be a possibility
I think the third death will be a metaphorical one, like losing her identity or her memories or maybe losing the connection she has to the Trailblazer.
Could be the third death she experiences is the death of her identity.
I.e: Something happens leading her to be free from the suit (thus Sam dying) or traps her in the suit completely (thus Firefly dying).

Also if she dies in front of me again I will actually cry like seriously. Within my first meeting with her and the “date” along with the fact that she’s both cute, and as Sam cool as heck and I freakin love her.
Main reason I don’t think firefly will die for real is Elio’s deal with firefly, while we don’t know the specifics of the deal it can be assumed that Elio’s end of the deal is to find a way for firefly to live so her dying goes against the deal and her dying and living on as a memetic entity is a cop out, both options go against the deal and lore wise if Elio fail to deliver on his end of the deal with firefly what’s to say he won’t fail when it come to the other stellaron hunters, it would realistically lead the remaining members to leave as since it’s unsure of their deals coming to fruition there would be no reason to follow Elio’s script.
The flaw is that she cannot dream, and told as much when she was leading us around in 2.0.
Something I think people are overlooking is that she also told us that she's tried to reveal to us the nature of the dream 11 times but failed each time. I suspect 2.3 will a have a LOT of Firefly's perspective, and at least some of it will be before the events in 2.2.
My dreadful theory is that she will have to forget everything to awaken. 💀
I theorize that Firefly's 3rd death maybe a metaphorical one. She never showed her green flame form with the swords yet, which could imply that she was holding it back, but what if that aint the case? I believe that Firefly's 3rd death maybe the death of her old/past self/ves and accept the Firefly she in the present, which could result on her final(?) form.

I saw a comment that i want to believe, in reality her 3rd death is the death of "stellaron hunter SAM" and the start of Firefly memeber of the astral express.
I’m coping and I hope HSR does NOT kill Firefly (at least during the story) but at the same time, Firefly really seems like a “I want to eat your pancreas” anime moment (if you know, you know). I think the most important factor is that she has a terminal illness- so she WILL eventually die sooner than later. The question is just a matter of when or how. Does she succumb to her illness during the HSR story? Does she die a violent death before her illness kills her? Does she die peacefully after fulfilling her script? Does she retire from being a Stellaron hunter to live a peaceful life before dying? In the end, I think it’s a matter of when and how, not if Firefly will die. Literally everything about her is a death flag- from her name to her backstory to her existing story dialogue. I predict HSR will kill Firefly off later in the story- most likely much later, and definitely not in Penacony right when she becomes playable (that would damage sales).
I hope her 3rd "death" is that of SAM and FF instead become a member for the Nameless cause it looked like to me she was beginning to resonate with the trailblaze
Despite the obvious fact that we saw Misha in reality, one thing worth mentioning that I believe confirms we were in Ena's dream when we fought Sunday was the fact that the Jade Abacus that Dan Heng supposedly used wasn't actually used when they had woken up from said dream.
Is it possible that her third "Death" could be her body reaching a state where she can can longer walk about without the armor?

I can't help but think to a Marvel Comic I've heard about, where Bruce Banner is the last surviving human after a major apocalyptic event. When he finally "dies", he transformed into the Hulk, but Hulk could never transform back into Banner because Banner was now dead. I can't help but wonder if a similar thing might happen to Firefly now... Firefly reaches a stage where she dies... but SAM still lives... forever trapping them as SAM for fear of both of them being dead... permanently...
I don't remember the conversation between the TB and Blade. What quest did that happen?
my cope is that maybe we all are lead to believe she's dying the last time but it turns out the script only said she would die in Penacony and not all on the same visit there. my hope is that means Firefly can go and live just some time longer, and since the script said nothing about what happens in between her previous and next death that she's finally free to live by her own choices while having the certainty that the death she wanted as her true self is not gone and just waiting for her another time.

We've been in hell once. Some would argue 2.... 3 times? Anyway, beside the point, but going through it one more time wouldn't change much at this point and giving us an actual satisfying ending would be the best that players could ask for. I just think that it would be nice for the third and final death being the death of "SAM" instead of "firefly".
I think Firefly doesn't recognize us because either A: She never met us before maybe for some reason or another you'd never worked with each other as Elio's scripts come with very specific instructions. B: Firefly knows but also knows you don't have your memories and she pretends not to know because its just not important especially considering that you're probably part of Elio's plans one way or another.

What if there's actually several SAM with one Firefly? I believe she was like prototype project which glamoth used to make an army. So in her case, she can experience real death by any means ("third death" gave me an impression that it was not her first time) and somehow transfer her consciousness and memory (or simply her life) to another SAM.
Of course there's a catch, everytime she do it, her entropy syndrome thingy got worse to the point she will lose her identity (or life) as Firefly and will be just a killing machine.

Her Ultimate is a transformation of sorts, going from Red Flames that drain her HP, to Green Flames that heal her and make her even more powerful, we have not seen this transformation in the story yet. So its safe to assume she will have this transformation in that crucial 3rd death as like a reborn of sorts, a new SAM piloted by Firefly, not Glamoth’s soldier or the Stellaron Hunter.
I'm not sure what you mean but we do see Firefly transforming into Sam when Firefly says goodbye to the Astral Express in 2.2.

The way i see things, it goes like this:
Elio always uses cryptic language to describe the future. Firefly never wanted to be that soulless, merciless living breathing creature, all she wanted to have a normal life to experience human emotions. Elio appointed her as the iron mecha but the reason she decided to follow him was to hope for the day to live as a human. The very same reason Elio sent her to Penacony so she could find what she always wanted, not to be remembered as Sam but as Firefly. In that process she is destined to die 3 times and the final death is the death of the Stelleron Hunter, Sam.

I dont think Firefly's early interactions with the TB are that complicated. She was following Elio's script in setting the Astral Express onto the Watchmaker's Legacy. Her trying to get close to the TB and then suddenly dying was the motivator for that. When we see her again she openly acknowledges that she was hiding her full self because she had to fulfill her role, and this likely meant hiding the fact that she knew the TB previously.
As for her 3rd death, it might not be as tragic as some people are expecting. It could actually be positive. I believe Elio told Firefly she would learn how to live, or somehing to that affect. Its possible that her 3rd death is metaphorical and that she will simply leave Penacony with a new perspective on life, or maybe even have an answer to her condition. Just a thought.

1. first trip to penacony, we fight sunday and lose (this is never shown)
2. Second trip to penacony, we fight sunday and win
3. third trip to penacony, we learn we lost and this time we fight sunday and win

A firefly, like a Charmony dove, isn't made to live in a cage, so Ena's dream might not be horrible it still is a cage that she won't live in.
