    “It’s not the best for tree work..”
    That’s all you had to say!

      Thanks Dennis! It’s awesome climbing trees 😎🙌. You should check out “RedBull Branched Out”. It’s a RedBull sponsored tree climbing competition 🤙

    I use mine for tree work
    I have it quick drawed from my bridge ring to my side D so I can use my climbing line as a lanyard on the way up. Once I’m there all I have to secure the open end (Pirate carabiner) to my bridge my ring or srt, pitch my quick draw side off my side D and it self aligns
    Same gear you got but a prusik
    Girth the prusik to your bridge rope;
    Then install the carabiner then the taz to it. Push the taz down the spine of the carabiner as you rotate it over to clip it to your side D, with the taz trapped inside the carabiner. This moves your device over to your side D so just use the top bite of your climb line as a lanyard. This eliminates a lanyard and makes gear redundant. I use another system on my opposite side with different gear and setup as my B lanyard/ work position + bug out bail about 15 feet.
    It will self tend (used DRT) at the top so just use a slip knot above the device.

    I’m new to climbing, I started with foot and hand ascenders for going up the tree and a figure 8 belay do coming down… I quickly realized that’s not very practical for moving about the canopy. I’m using a rope wrench setup now but I have been looking at other mechanical devices like a pretzl zigzag+ what setup do you normally use?

    Hey mate if the max diameter is 11mm how are you going with donaghys couger blue 11.7mm. Always wanted one but what aborist has a >11mm rope

      Yeah it definitely runs slow and not as smoothly on the Cougar Blue (especially on ascents). Samson Velocity was an OG 11mm Arb climbing line, and I hear that Courant make some nice 11mm Arb ropes too. Been thinking of giving them a go.

    What are you using for your neck/chest connection?

      In this video I’m just using a bungee neck tether. It’s basically just a length of shock cord threaded through some rope cover and tied to an accessory carabiner.

    The user manual for the TAZ LOV3 states that it can only be used on a fall arrest harness, and your rope is out of spec for the device.
    Should probably just pull the video down.

      And a neck tether? Do you have to be suicidal first? 😂
