Your presentation style and video quality are top-notch. Absolute joy to watch.
Thanks so much Kenneth! Really happy it was a useful video for you 😊👍
The FPV/Drone community thanks you for the detailed explanation! I don't climb but I'll use these techniques to shake the hell out of some branches!
Absolutely excellent video. I will be attempting to use some of these techniques to hang HF antennas in trees.
Oh thank you so much. Throwing the line can be hard in the beginning. This video reminded me of techniques I knew and showed me new ones I will try. Very well presented.
Thanks bro! Stoked you found the video useful 😊🤙
I like how you have a different method for throwing with the slip knot.
I havent seen and friction savers with an open gate though. Generally you have to put the throwball through the larger ring before you throw and then put it through the smaller ring when it returns back to the ground. You can ascend the friction saver from the ground over the union and drop the bag to tie your rope on.
I find the pile hitch is the simplest option to attach my throwline to my climbing line. I like to avoid too much clutter & my throwbags don't have a loop on the bottom but I like the 10 oz Petzyl bags & I keep a WesSpur 14 oz. bag on me in case I'm in a sticky situation. In all cases that I use a pile hitch with my throwline I snug it about a foot above my small sewn loop on that working end of my climbing line. My throwline has about a 2.5" loop that slides onto my throwball & also makes it easy to attach above the sewn loop on my climbing line. I have a new setup of a kit that is very simple to get me up into a 🌳 SRT style in case I want to advance on another MRS system that I can't set from the ground. I'm pretty excited about that new collaboration this spring.😮😅.
very professional and clear explained.
Your content is so well presented and explained.
I enjoy your method of instruction 👍
Thanks Brendan! Glad the videos are proving useful for you. Climb safe bro 😊🤙
Huge amount of great knowledge !
Well, I'm no climber, but do find it handy to get a rope up in a tree for winching, guying, or pulling a tree through other canopies. I use your throw not, but will now have an improved technique - thank you. I also like your throwline technique - great tips - much appreciated !
Happy to be of help @chaswarren7239 😊👍
an excellent demo, great tips & thanks!😃🇺🇸
Thanks! 😊👍
Great video as usual. Really well presented 👊🏻
Thanks Connor! Much appreciated Bro 😎🤙
Great video thanks. Covers all the important points. Well done...Nice looking throwbags those HR's too :)
Thanks Bro! 😊🤙 Yeah, love a Harrison Rocket 😎🙌
Absolutely brilliant video mate!! I'm just learning how to throw, and this video showed me how to throw as well as many other things that I never even thought of.
Nicely done mate, keep up the good work!
Really glad it was useful for you 😊
Well done, Sir!
thankyou,many good points are mentioned!
Thanks @jacobzjm Happy you found it useful 😊
What a shot with the throwing knot!
Thanks bro!! Surprised myself too 😂. That was actually on the second shot
BEST ! Thanks from POLAND.
Cheers bro! Climb safe 😎🤙
Thank you
I use a Wrist Rocket slingshot, fishing line, and egg shaped lead fishing weights.
GREAT video .......
Thx
Thanks 😊👍
Iv seen that done...many times. Uh...your good 👍 👍
I am still at the "..one will get stuck part", most often. I sometimes was afraid I was running out of curse words...
Haha this will impress my dad
Happy to help bro 😊🤙
damn this guys good.
Knows his stuff but is a bit rusty these days 😂
Just found your video. What size throw line is the best ??. Also what kind of material of the throw line do I get ??. Wow you make all those throws look so easy . I think you must have been doing it for a while now . Thank you for the great information THANKS
Hi @kathyhathaway8823 Thanks very much 😊🙏. Yes, I started in the industry back in 2006, although predominantly off the tools now.
We usually run about 60m (200ft) throwlines and anywhere from 1.5mm to 2.2mm in diameter depending on the brand.
Those would all be made from UHMWPE fibres (dyneema). It’s strong, light and often low friction, depending on the coating that’s been used on it. Hopefully that helps 😊🤙
Thank you for your instruction video but I would prefer you to choose a very grippy barky branchy tree cause I don't ever get those barkless trees, that's where the struggle lies. Take care.
We’ll do that bro. This is just an easy tree to film in because it’s so clean through the middle. But will do a rough bark for you bro 😊🤙
@@REECOIL_DOT_COM Appreciate it, seriously, cause that's the worst part of my tree work, the throw ball blues 🤬
What is the highest you can use a throw line ? 50, 60 or more feet ?
Probably the absolute max would be about 30m (100’) but my throws are really inaccurate at those heights 😅
Throwing looks like hard work.
Would a bow an arrow do the job ?
In the army we used a spring loaded launcher that would fire a short projectile with a fine line attached to a bigger line
Absolutely! For low shots we hand throw, higher shots we use the big shot (an 8ft tall catapult) and really high shots (about 200ft and over) we use crossbows.
And thank you for your service Sir
Great video thank you
Rope boss.
So you use the rope to climb the tree?
I thought you guys used flip lines and spike boots.
Hey bro! Yeah we use spikes and flip lines if a tree is being removed. But don't use spiked if we're just pruning trees.
@@REECOIL_DOT_COM Oh, okay. I get it now.
I was watching these videos to figure out the best way to get an antenna wire in a tree.
Thanks for the reply.
I’d recommend either calling an Arborist to put it up there for you. Failing that, a great book for starting out is the Tree Climbers Companion 😊🤙
I wish the grass was shorter
Us too - it gets snakey in tall grass 🐍😅
I don't understand the cadmium saver.
It prevents rope burns from damaging the tree and avoids stressing your rope from tree bark abrasion.
