My tip for venison Soak in lee and perrings sauce/red wine/either or both overnight maybe in one of those bags you have. Put in pan or on barbacue,( not in bag. ) lightly fry, melt in mouth. Stew slow cook red wine ❤xx

This how I cook deer meat. I take deer steaks and marinate them in barbecue sauce, in a pan overnight. Then i get a pine board and place the steaks on this board. Stick it in the oven, at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When its done, salt and pepper to taste. Then I throw the steaks in the garbage, and eat the board. Deer meat is an aquired taste. A taste that I've never learned to like. Ilove your videos. Been a subscriber since you first started. Keep up the good work.

Your video allows us to touch the magnificent beauty of the sea coast of Scotland. We are very far from you. In our consciousness, Scotland is associated with the heroic events of the past. Unfortunately, now the relationship between Russia and the UK is quite tense. But there is no guilt of ordinary people. It is sad that for me, for example, it is almost impossible to get into the wonderful places similar to what is shown in your video. Similarly, a citizen of the United Kingdom is not easy to visit hidden wild places in Russia. Although it would be wonderful. Thanks to CZcams, we can virtually present in places where we can never get into reality. Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

Hi Dan, great location for a camp mate, venison is a very rich meat, the sausages tend to be seasoned, however when cooking the steaks it's all about what you cook it with , I recommend red wine, pepper, tomatoes, and if you like them mushrooms, which dissipates the intense flavour of the meat and makes the whole meal very tasty 👍 great to catch up on your channel bud, atb Paul 🙏🏕️🏕️🏕️😁

I enjoyed the video Daniel, not sure exactly where you filmed but it looks like familiar territory. Being in the wild and especially in Scotland gives you an immense feeling of self-awareness and satisfaction. Solitude especially gives you an amazing appreciation of being alive. Summer 2021 was an excellent year for me exploring the west of Scotland and the Isle of Skye. At times I felt a bit lost and at other times I felt completely at one. The feelings come and go. I'm fortunate to live just north of Inverness. I'm really looking forward to getting back out to some of the best areas I found and experienced this year in the spring-summer 2022. I'd be happy for you to join me at some point if you can make it. All the best and take care.

  • @lightanddreamsphotography7140

Personally I love venison steaks, but the lack of fat can make them a bit dry and tougher than say a nice rib eye beef. Did you leave it to rest after cooking, sometimes you need to put it aside and let the fibres relax after cooking and before eating. I'd recommend wild camping on the Isle of Skye, or basically anywhere along the North-West Coast to be honest. I've camped on a beach below cliffs before and panicked in the night when it sounded like the sea was all around us, caused by the sound bouncing back off the cliffs, it took a lot of getting used to!

Add a butter and oil mix and wait until butter is brown then add steak
Brown the steak in the frying pan first, then let it rest for 5 minutes or so. Add further butter while it sits.
Reduce the heat and part cook them.
Rest the steak again to let it relax for another minutes, and then finish off cooking. By undercooking the steak and allowing it to rest lets the steak relax, distributing the juices evenly throughout the meat.

Great tip with the sleep mat. Agree with the brands, once you use a brand and trust it, most people keep to the same brand.

Dan, great video. Venison is one of my favorite meats. It is best if you can marinade it over night. Also, it is better if cooked more on the rare side. I can’t wait until you do some venison cooking videos, I believe you will change your mind.
Also, I will be heading to Scotland next May to do the West Highland Way. Can’t wait!
