This time around as I continue my journey with Nightwish, I look at Floor Jansen and this talent band's next song in the Wacken 2013 series Ever Dream. I think Floor once said in an interview somewhere that Wacken 2013 is the high point of her musical career to this date. I guess this was a night where the stars just aligned: a huge audience, videotaped, a stellar performance.
The first three songs of Wacken (Dark Chest of Wonders, Wish I Had an Angel, She Is My Sin) are what I sometimes call the "sexy trilogy". Nightwish used to have quite a lot of songs about love, also sensual love. Floor, apparently a positive person about these things, does them justice and has fun with them. Watch sexy Floor:

You are spot on what is also usually good for the Wacken festival guys is when a band has a special concert and tapes it like Nightwish here they go out of their way to give them enough focus with special arrangements and carefully setting up everything and having good technicians working on it together with the team from the studio. Not every festival does that as often festivals are very limited and logistical chaos and then performances can suffer.
@@cyberiankorninger1025 I think I read somewhere that the videography was all Nightwish's own guys, but then the credits have a lot of German names for the videographers, so I guess you're right there.
Great reaction as usual. Love this song. Floor's vocals carry so much power. Nightwish with Floor Jansen are astounding. They always blow me away when performing live. Great job mate.

I think it's the fullness of the orchestral sound that makes the difference in the Symphonic Metal style music.. That blend is everything.
There is Floor ,Marko and you have yet to hear Troy the third vocalist
Marco "the bass player" is a very varied and talented singer himself he sings on quite a few Nightwish songs..
This songs is just one of very many... Every track they do at the concert will amaze.. Then you can move to the songs they perform at Wembley, then Tampere, and... well you get the idea. Every song they do is unique, but at the same time still very much Nightwish..

Here are some suggestions for your Nightwish journey:
-> "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" (Buenos Aires) will give you a metal and power blast: Maximum speed and Marco (the singing bass player) becomes Hannibal Lecter ;-)
-> There are a couple of more great songs from Wacken: "Song of Myself" starts catchy and ends with everyone headbanging. "Romanticide", "Last Ride of the Day" and "Ghostriver" are the heavier ones.
-> "Yours an Empty Hope" from Wembley (have a good look!! at the growls. You'll be surprised.)
-> „Dead Boys Poem“ from Buenos Aires (so amazing and emotional)
-> „Weak Fantasy“ (Tampere): Kai the beastat the drums, Troy joins in, great duets with Floor and Marco, ...
-> "The greatest Show on Earth" (Tampere) is epic as "The Poet and the Pendulum“ (Wembley - get to know the background of this song ahead)
-> Then the new stuff from thei current album with "Noise" (awesome Video), „Shoemaker“ (takes you to the stars), "Harvest (Lyric Video, you will not believe you listen to Nightwish), Tribal (very heavy and with an incredible "dance part") …

Just a little FYI, Floor and the concert are from Europe. Wacken is German and pronounced as 'Vocken". Floor is from the Netherlands and their J's are pronounced as Y's, Floor "Yonsen", (like Scarlett Johansson is pronounced as Yohanson) For the puritans in the Nightwish Army! ;-) .
Vocken and Yonsen is just as wrong, the a:s in Wacken and Jansen should be with a longer a-sound like in the words :car or bar and not like hack or jack.

Only other band live in the same category was Queen imo. Freddy would've loved Floor. Imagine them doing a duet. F&F live! That would be too much!

Floor "Yan-sen". Concert is pronounced "Vah-ken".
Floor Jansen is a very great singer but i prefer their firs singer Tarja Turunen who can sing like in an Opera (Phantom of the opera : You have to listen that !)

This is one of the very few songs where I prefer Tarja over Floor. Operatic head voice sounds a littlw more appropriate with this song than the pure belting that Floor does here (which is still great btw).
