      This is true, but here is a hint, the shorter the review, the less I like it. I also don't get caught up as much as to whether I like it, but does it execute well, does it do something different. In this case, MP145 has a very smooth and warm signature, immediately appealing to me as I love that style, but I also know some people look for more technical planars. For me personally, both MP145 and Meoldy are great sets as upgrades so cheaper 1DD sets. The signature isn't far from a set like Cadenza, but planar tech. It is a great combo. If you are looking for a more technical, less smooth, less warm planar, that is S12 Pro or Timeless AE style. There is no good or bad, just know which appeals to you.

      I am a planar fanboy. There aren't many sets, 1DD or hybrids, that I take over planars. That being said, I'd keep my EA500 and the MP145. I think MP145 does most of what EM6L can do but I still like a very nice 1DD.

    How does the OG HBB PR2 v1 compare? (the one with the rectangular filter over entire planar driver as designed, implemented with HBB SS and tuning approval, before KZ effed it up).

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Před 10 měsíci +1

      I have a PR2 with no mesh and its closer than my original. Both are still more aligned to S12/Timeless, a heavy treble emphasis. MP145 is relaxed treble, as I said, sounds more like a DD but still technically better than most DD since it is a planar. It is the right balance of a set that anyone can pick up and still hear that planar detail. S12 and Timeless are great, but not for everyone.

      SIMGOT house sound is upper mid heavy, this is bass heavy. They don't share much in common. Like saying how does Heartmirror compare to BL03. The tuning is targeting two different people. Can you EQ MP145 to be closer to EM6L, probably and it would sound great.

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Před 10 měsíci +2

      The signatures are different with Quintet pushing a bit more detail, and possibly fatigue. Off the top of my head, MP145 has detail, but it would be harder to hear as the tuning leans warmer, it just doesn't force detail forward. That doesn't mean its not there, MP145 is actually very good in music and subtle detail, but Quintet would probably be better on gaming.

    Is that paper filter inside the nozzle ? If so. Perfect . Because I can add a sponge filter inside and remove the paper filter out from nozzle. I do that with so many iems and I get the right tuning and thick low end as I like for blasting volumes

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Před 10 měsíci +1

      You would have a couple choices, the silver removable nozzle is naked so you can add a filter or filter and foam. Otherwise a larger foam in the nozzle. Yes, two of the nozzles have filters on the back.

Where it is doable, I have achieved a very classy sound, you would be impressed.. very mature tuning. MSEB isn't exactly eq, involves filters and parametric type eq stuff, works very well. The normal eq on my Hiby is not so good.. I don't miss it... MSEB is better, changes the character of the amp as well.. I want something that will kick for my Dsd library.. • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Před 10 měsíci +6

      So the non-obvious answer is they are the same, the difference is tuning. Heyday is more revealing in the mids so the the obvious answer is Heyday. If you want good techs with a lot of bass, that is MP145. Its easier to lower the bass and have better apparent technicalities, but doing it with enough or more than enough bass is something that people who like bass will appreciate. MP145 is tuned to have a good time, Heyday is a bit more serious.

    Hidizs seems to be very confident with the MP145 judging by the amount of demo units that were handed over to a crap ton of reviewers.
    Hopefully the Kickstarter isn't a train wreck or Hidizs decides to stealth revise the MP145 after the Kickstartwr campaign ends.

    • @fuad000100
      @fuad000100 Před 10 měsíci

      Hope they don't. The MSRP will hit $190 or something after the early bird offer ends, so there's no reason for them to revise it's tuning

    • @PaulWasabii
      @PaulWasabii  Před 10 měsíci +3

      Not only the number of reviewers but the aggressive marketing is off-putting. I doubt they are stealth revising it, unless they make the shell smaller. It is still a planar and when more pop up on squig, it won't be surprising to see variation as you see in other planar sets. They are using a similar driver to other sets.

    Still waiting for a decent upgrade to Timeless AE. Yes the Timeless has an annoying peak at 8 kHz and dip at 10k, but I can EQ that to extent so it's not fatiguing. And I get that tuning a planar is difficult, but I find no one has yet found the same magic formula. The Tangzu Heyday gets close, but it's missing that robust sub-bass I like to hear in my fancy electronic music library.
