hello! i found this video really informative on some tools i might be needing for the one im currently working on, thank you! however, can you explain what static is in the context of diamond painting? thanks again!
Sometimes the diamonds stick to the sides of the bag it comes in and just goes everywhere so if you put the alcohol swab in there it will help them not be so static and easier to kit up 😊

Sometimes they come out of the baggie they came in covered in static...but I've noticed my silicone funnel adds static to them! 😠 (not sure if it came with static?? If the static drills that came that way put it on the funnel? Or if the silicone causes static? It could be any of those answers. **sigh)

Your “second” tweezers are actually “pliers.” :)
I keep dryer sheets in with my tools. I cut them into small squares I'll stick in my kitting container if there's a lot of static in my current project drills (& I shake them up before I place them in my tray) & I add them to my jars holding the remaining drills after. Does alcohol work better? Or is it just for your trays??
I've noticed that silicone funnels add static to my drills worse than almost anything?? 😥 And sometimes they come directly out of their plastic bag covered in it 😭 I need to try washing those silicone funnels (or running rubbing alcohol through it?? What do y'all think will work better??) & see if that fixes that problem once & for all. I bought a plastic funnel in case I can't ever fix the silicone ones
I do find the alcohol works better than dryer sheets, I have switched to that after using dryer sheets for a long time.
Funnels will create static no matter what so I don’t recommend them in general. I recommend finding a storage system that doesn’t need them, but that is my personal opinion because I hate static.
I am just starting I ordered some small coaster kits online … can you share what kitting up/down means please? Sorry if this is a silly question!
Kitting up and kitting down just means getting your drills ready. So if you like to put them in containers or baggies and usually mark them with their corresponding symbols and getting your project all ready is “Kitting up”. I suggest searching for “Kitting Up” videos to see how different people do it 😊 I have a few on my channel
