      you are not going to find a better place then US or Canada to survive IMO. sure the gov is going radical left right now and there may be extremely difficult times, but you cant believe the gov in some banana republic is going to be stable during those times. the homes down there all have WALLs not fences for a reason. they see more violence then we do. here at least you have a chance of being in a tight group of like minded folks. the US has a lot of military but here in Canada they are few and far between :)

    My grandfather and great grandfather didn't die fighting for this country just so I can run away. I was born here and I will die here. Running away is exactly what they want you to do. That's how they divide us and then conquer us. I would stand by your side if you wanted to stay and fight. My only hope is that you would stand by mine. We will only succeed if we stay united.

    If I were younger, I would’ve moved out of America already. I knew 2008 was the sign of the coming end of America. I actually realized in the 80’s this would come in my lifetime. I’m close enough to the end that I’ll just be part of the last line.

      I can understand to a degree leaving because of having children whom are young. Freedom is hard and dangerous to acquire and maintain, running from the hard things is alot of why where in the situation our country's in, wranglerstar is an example of a great man, during hard times and war the women, children and elderly leave first, atleast those who can. Our forefathers would have never let things get out of control this bad. They thought of everything they could to give the people the understanding and power of their voices and started the great American experiment with the first FREE people having inalienable right to stand on and later generations allowed their power to be chipped away in exchange for a little "safety from big brother." Not even getting into the whole tax side of things, which would have never been allowed, the boomers or slightly older generations is where things went off a cliff though some would argue earlier than that. Selfishness and the pursuit of ease and comfort comfort has led us here to an uncomfortable place.

    That circle stack is called a holz hausen, we just hauled a ton of wood for my grandpa, we filled his pole barn and then managed to make six and a half of those holz hausen. Fun family activity!

    My firewood comes off the splitter and goes directly into IBC totes. I move them with the forks on my tractor and cover them. I don’t touch it again until I bring them down to the house and bring the wood in to burn it.

    I don't trust our government either, but this is the best you will find. With all of our faults, and we may eventually collapse, it's better than anything else that I know of. Things are cheaper in South America and the weather is nice, but you don't have property rights depending on who is in charge. There are places in the U.S. that you can get cheap land, decent tax laws, etc. Look at state and local laws and keep a low profile. If you sign up for government / veteran /farm conservation stuff, etc. but the more you involve government, the more say they have on your land. Do your thing with a low profile. The big threat is angry mobs during a collapse who will try to take your stuff. Security is the problem. Self-reliance is the easy part. You need the right people in your compound that can help pull security, do chores, and add value to your homestead.

    Ok, love the planning aspect. I have a question. What happens when it gets bad enough that you need to bug out and you find that the borders are in passable/closed. Seems like you will need to bug out before it gets bad enough to bug out.

    Im stay put and defend my home and my home town . I've hunted every inch of the land in and around here since I was able to follow my dad around . Now im old 52 with a 4yo daughter . I was smart and paid my place off 5y ago . My closest friends live within 2 miles and we've put together a plan if things go bad we all can live with no power . Have the means to be self sustainable for years if necessary. God have mercy on anyone stupid enough to try and take what we have.

    I straight stack all my wood on plastic pallets and get the row up to 6ft hi. I run 2 rows along my barn @ 35ft long. That gets us thru the cold days all oak with less than 20% moisture

    You nailed it 100%.... awesome thing was, is they gave us for free a trail run that they named The VID....if I didn't catch the occasional news story, I would have never even known it was going on.... we worked as usual, and the way I have always ran my house... didn't phase this guy one bit... it did make me look at even deeper levels of self sustainability... simple things like started my own plants for my huge garden vs going to my favorite local family owned nursery... only because that POS Walz almost shut them down and wasn't going to allow people to get their vegetable plants to grow... well, I don't have to worry about that anymore either... and 40 acres of wood... well, when I build my house it will have hydronic heat that is created by an outdoor wood burning furnace...and also going to install a 15000w solar systemmm MN is f*cking with the power grid in a manner that is not going to end well according to MISO..... if all goes as planned, I will be 99% self sufficient and will never have to leave my property.... need supper, go out back and get it... :) LOVING these videos...

    My wood never gets seasoned more than half a year. I never have any trouble burning it and just have to sweep my chimney twice a year.

    My grandad moved to new Zealand 45 years ago, and luckily left my dad 20 acres of land, that were currently building a property , we went through the citizenship process last year and will be there June 1st

    I couldnt agree more brother. The clamps are tightening here in Canada too right across the board.
    As far as the videos, its awesome having watching 2 different timelines together, it adds layers of depth and intrigue, makes the videos fun and also informative to watch. Great channel, this is how the internet should be used.

    Wood doesn't have to be a dirty heat source. Yesrs ago I had a stove with a catalytic converter. You kicked it in when the stove got hot enough, and it produced great efficient extra heat. The chimney was always clean.

    The problem with Costa Rica is you have a lot of driving and a lot of borders. Not to mention the cartel. If you lived by the ocean you could get a sail boat and head anywhere. I would probably stay near where you are or maybe the UP. The nice thing about the Great Lakes is that if the world goes to hell you can sail all through the Great Lake for trade and travel. You might not have gas but the wind will still be blowing. If you can get past Niagara fall you can go to anywhere in the world.

    Bro, all rights are derived by force, and all force is attained, administered, and enforced at the muzzle of a gun. No other country besides this one offers the people the ability to secure rights. Leaving just opens you up to the force of a different people who literally don't see you as an equal. All Asians refer to Americans as foreigners, even the Asians living here. Leaving for another country makes you a stranger in the next country, and human nature doesn't change with geography.
    As a former soldier and student of real history, I have witnessed a lot and Americans have bought into a 4 year voting process based on the deception that the next guy will fix everything. How selfish, as the only guarantors of freedom are the people. We were specifically told that we were given a republic...if WE could keep it.
    My advice brother is to concentrate on your local government and state government and choose a state that is not Wisconsin. Preferably a western state like Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, or Idaho. I'm in Montana. And free as you can be even far better than the much overrated Texas. As for me my neighbors are my countrymen and as I have mentioned about my former army service, you have no idea how strong a small unit of freedom loving people can be. Cutting and running doesn't solve anything, instead it opens up a new set of problems. Eventually the end will come and my Creator said nobody gets out of here alive anyhow.

    You're thinking much like our CIA buddy that says you should bet on the 90% chance on what will happen but be prepared for the remaining 10% that could happen. the could happen moral of the story is maybe there is peace of mind if you have an alternative nation to relocate to; but if you are staying and the 10% possibility happened then you best design to exist without fuel and limited electricity (your own generator or solar, hydro, or wind) -- firewood of course is necessary. today's America has softened up to all the conveniences we have grown accustomed to and expect. fast food is a deer, not a restaurant where you rely on a system chain. keep your health up is most crucial when the hard times hit.     The problem with going to a foreign country is if the shtf, commercial travel will most likely be halted. How will you get around from country to country? My plan is to hunker down where I am, maintaining my self sufficiency and helping my neighbors in difficult times. A foreigner in a poorer country will be known by the folks in that locality, and may be at greater risk, as those locals in need may have the idea that the rich American has all they need and more. Learning about how to live off the landscape, using local flora and fauna, for herbal medicines and enhancing quality of life through obtaining and using knowledge of the land I know, is better than going to a far flung location, with more unknowns to deal with in a grid down situation, imho.

    i would build a monolithic dome in a relatively remote place. with a tunnel system into a mountain for extra space. the dome woudl be completely blended into the landscape, and any access would be an illusion of a road or path. accessible for any vehicle, but seemingly, Not so. woudl be expensive for such a place (except the dome is like any conventional sized house) but i woudl also have food growing potential, and storage, and enough canning supplies for 4 lifetimes, for at minimum 4 to 6 people. spare parts for Every item that can't be done with a manual mechanism. and multiple means to generate electricity and of course spare parts for those systems. as much of it stored in plastic tubs and sealed against oxygen and moisture. it would essentially be like a bunker, so i woudl want to build the tunnels in granite if possible. or end up using concrete methods to secure and stabilize the tunnels as needed.

    I am sheltering in place(because that is the option I have) the money ain't there to leave, my age and health is against me, but; I have food, ammo and wildlife and really solid neighbors!!! ( I think or I hope). It will all be over soon, I am thinking..........it is gonna be really bad first (complete annihilation?) then it will get a lot better. (cause we will all be singing hymns with the beings in "higher" realms......(pipedream?)     Stan the first Czars in America were in the 40's under Roosevelt. I never knew that myself until I looked it up because I was pretty sure Bush had Czars before Obama. #FJB

    I've lived in several countries before I became a Naturalized American. Our family fled Communism. I lived in Poland, Germany, Austria, Canada. I've been to several countries with the military including Kenya, Romania, Albania, Egypt, Djibouti, Macedonia, Ukraine, France and several others.
    I live in America because every country I've been to is messed-up worse than us. We moved to a very sane state nearly 20 years ago. It's far from prefect but it's live and let live, people help one another. We don't even have tics, fleas or termites where we live.

    hey Stanley, I just spent 5 months in South America. folks down dont rely on their government as much down there, they are very self sufficient. i recommend taking a trip down there

    Stan i see the issue of getting out of america being very large. Anything happens terror attack etc. They will be very tough on leaving because they will be worried the attacker will leave the country. Or at least thats what their reason to lock you in the country is going to be. Besides that the ideal move would be driving to a nice sized boat you own down in texas or Louisiana with access to the sea. Take the sea to el salvador and you should be free.

    Military mobilization was a ting her in denmark under the mink scandal. it was mosly in the way off the Military calling up over the phone to the mink framers and puting presure on them.
