Hi friends, as someone who recently went through a complete breakdown of old self in my life meaning literally everything from a 15 year relationship ending in separation, kids moving across state with their dad, a complete career change and cherry on top being diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer at 36. It all crashed at once. This was in 2022. Moving forward.. 2024 I have a whole new life and most importantly I am a new person inside and out. Life is so much easier! I went through the self care phase in the beginning because everyone said that’s what you do. And yes, it felt good but I felt the same way afterwards. I stayed doing the small simple things like you said and girl after a few months life was starting to get better. I was seeing change! Even though we may not see change today I promise when tomorrow gets here you feel it! Just keep being intentional with yourself. 2024 I am still working at self care but the change in myself has been transformative! And… I have been cancer free for 8 months now ❤ You got this Maya. Life is beautiful and everything we go through is lessons meant for soul growth. Wishing you the best!

Maya may never see this comment, but I wanted to encourage her tears. The ones that flowed after the Nobu dinner, those tears were genuine, and we should collectively support them. As women it's not weak or bad to experience emotions in all the ways God created us to feel and express them. Emotions are the ways to connect, communicate, and convey our very HUMAN experiences. Let's embrace it all so that we can grow through it and evolve into our best selves. I personally thoroughly enjoy when Maya has these vulnerable moments and shares them with us, it reminds me of our humanity and femininity.
