I would never subscribe. I'm here to save money not make this clown more money 😅

I have no need to know anything about wells, but these videos are fascinating. Subbed!
It’s 100 percent worth paying for you tube premium lol
This man knows his job quite well 😊
I’m in Houston Texas. We just had our irrigation well pump replaced. The well is 350 feet deep. The pump is at 300 feet deep on 2 inch galvanized when they pulled the pipe out. The 2 inch galvanized looked almost brand new and it’s been in the ground for 20 years. It pumps 80 to 100 gallons per minute. And amazingly the water is very good being that we are in Houston a chemical toxic dump for the last 150 years. The company that installed it and maintains it is Almeda water well Manville, Texas.
25:25 instead of a double 90 you could have done a double 45 so you have less direction change for the water flow so it has less losses.
Conversely, the loop he made will handle vibration and movement better without cracking the PVC fittings.
It is a pleasure to watch true professionals who care about their work. Top notch fellas!!
Holy Cow! I used to be part owner of a system with four wells and 17 families. The pump house had a sand filter and 2.5 miles of 1.25 gal pipe. I spent one thanksgiving digging 6 feet down in mud with minus ten farenhite rooting up a section of black pipe. Not even galvanized. It was like a tubular screen.
The feds made us test once a month for quality. The pump house was up a draw and 30 feet underground. It was a jeep trail to get there. Bull elk were usually supervising us. Pump replacement on 410 foot wells was always fun! We either had to do hand over or use a step ladder and home made pump dog.
This last summer I worked on a system for a music camp at 9000 feet in the mountains. Forty tiny cabins. They used a fish thrown in the creek with a fifty year old water purification unit. What a kludged mess. But it was a paycheck.
Moving back East after my brother’s lawsuit to sell out property. Both systems are fifty years or more. The people are freaking now as the only person who knows the systems is moving to New England.
If you buy a home, please check your water supply so you know what your dealing with.
I can understand if money was tight for the owner of the trailer park, and he had no option but to go the cheapest route to restore service to his customers, but sometimes you have to spend money up front, to save money in the long run - or as my father used to say, "there's nothing more expensive than a cheap car" - in other words, sometimes you have to go with quality and longevity over cost.
Another old adage , "buy once cry once"
I'm guessing if the owner was sharing the well with everyone else, he would have spent a little more money on it. I also wouldn't be surprised if he raised the rent for everyone to pay for the new pump. But I'm really cynical. I hope I"m completely wrong.
Doing work for a cheap guy, sickens my stomach as he tries to screw everyone else.
@southstreetbarbecue7875
You not wrong .my guessing too .😅😅
It's the reason why being poor is more expensive than having money, friends/family and resources. For example I used to do manual labor jobs, a pair of 150$ boots would last me about a season, I went through three pairs before investing in better boots. My next pair was about 300$ and lasted me three seasons, much cheaper in the long run but requires you to have extra money from the start.
I’ve been a roughneck, derrick man , and welder on oil and gas riggs at see . Retired now and enjoying your videos👍🏻
7500.00 is my guess. Great to see others in the field doing great work. Thanks for the great video
I must say that I am very impressed with how hard you work and the quality of your work. I worked 3 years for the second biggest municipal in Denmark in their water department (doing IT) and in DK we almost doesn't have any private wells since this is done by "goverment" due to strict water control. However I was there to hook those water sites up to our IT grid so I could see how they did it compared to your work and I am very impressed with the work done by your company. Gtz man and greetings from Denmark. Love your videos and your personality.
There is alot of private wells in denmark, we only do wells, pumps and filtration system for farmers and private customers.
@@steffenpoulsen5906 Oh didn't know that we still allowed that so much with the water control. I stand corrected then.....
They do wells, it's ancient technology 😂
@@SzymczykProductions and where does a lot of municipal water come from?
Where does the water come from on Denmark? Wells, of course. I'm not sure, but from my (limited) knowledge even when water is pulled directly from rivers and lakes it is usually collected in Ranney Wells. The Ranney collects water which comes from a river, for instance far enough away from river or lake after traversing thru sand, gravel etc. which does natural filtering. Water is then filtered and treated with disinfectants. Another method is Reverse😮 Osmosis. In S. FL many of us pull water from shallow wells. Said water runs thru much sand, limestone and is safe to drink. I do run it thru a water softener system to clarify it but add a very small amount of bleach to protect from bacteria that may come thru the aerator (sulphur removal).
So, there is my input. 😊
You and your crew are hard workers and you do quality work. I enjoy your videos so much. You also give the customers a break concerning costs. I wish there were more people like youi!!!

The trailer park on my road where my pap lived for 40 years i helped him take care of everything. Wells, pump houses, cisterns. Much love youre growing big. Congrats Man.
.
Appreciate how you explain in detail what I am watching.
I’ve worked on well pump systems since I was around 10 . Had to help my dad keep water to house. When I was 16 I worked for A well drilling company. Sometimes it was dangerous especially on old hand dug shallow wells. I ve seen a lot of galvanized deep wells and sub pumps. When we replaced the galvanized and installed ABS plastic we also put a well Chain attached to the pump and at the well flange . I like your special tools to keep from dropping the pump and pipe when pulling . Looking forward to more videos.
I am not a handyman type. I have a scissors and butter knife for tools. I have watched four of your productions. You do a good job speaking, explaining, and being intentional about your work and presentation.
I really enjoy learning from your videos, thanks! I’ve been doing my own well work and your videos help a lot.
Yes they are helping us which puts less money in their pockets. They rob people blind with well service prices
Just stumbled on your videos and I must say your work ethics and morals are top notch and very rare now days, I applaud you!!! Cool seeing you supporting Cleetus man. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving with the family ✌
I was wondering who'd notice the Cleetus Tee shirt plug! Maybe @CleetusMcFarland will lol
Learning alot in this video. We had a well at a house but it sold. I found the info for the well which was not transferred or requested. The Real estate threw out all the service tags, boiler and water, manuals and warranties. It was dirty and even ran dry once, they said to keep replacing the filter every three months. Not much water was used but there was a 450 gallon hot tub added. It actually ran dry one year. It didn't help that there was two rock walls between the well head and the driveway. They used a fake wishing well as the top made of wood to mark the location.
Never got to find out was wrong and told not to spend a dime. So if i get a property with a well these videos will help. Thanks.
Head pressure was pushing down once you started the pump. Nice job.
We ran 480/3/60 5 hp Dayton pumps with Franklin Elec motors offshore for raw water to cool equipment. We keep them throttled to about 120 psi using an overboard dump. Those pumps are bulletproof. Just pick them up once a week to clean the screen and drop them back in.
Great job guys. Thank you for this awesome video 👍
I have been subscribed from day one of watching. Your videos are so informative and fun.
Fascinating.
I've have watched a few of your videos, I've drilled, pulled, repaired, installed and tested wells from 10" pumps with five to eight Bowls, down to what we called stock wells that are 6" & 8" well casing.
One thing I would have you change is when you tape the sub pump wires, that you tape each line separately, then tape it to the pipe.
Taping each line out of the pump, prevents rubbing of the wires, and gives added protection in hard water areas. Best of luck to you.
Thanks for video. 14 years ago my 160’ well, with new double pull pump, wire, and switch was 1400$
wow it is so fun to see how things are done in other parts of the US
I've been binge watching your videos for the last month to learn how to set up a 50yo well that is on my property. Well is 200ft deep with a static level at 50ft, pulled the pump out with a date code from 1985 and surprisingly it still worked (will be storing it as a backup, just incase). I just want to say thank you, your videos are very informative and easy to follow. If it was not for your videos and easy going personality, i most likely would have needed to outsource this project. To help show support, I just placed an order on your website today for the check valve and ss barbed fitting for the pump I ordered, once they arrive I should be ready to drop the new pump and get it running. Again, just wanted to say thank you for all you do, you can consider me a lifetime subscriber now! Keep up the good work man!
My childhood home had a well dug in 1983, and the original pump was still working in 2013. We never ever had anything done to it, not even chlorine.
the little white relay in the starter box is the start / run relay it takes the start capacitor off line once the motor pull amperage and sends the power thru the run capacitor and takes power off of the start windings in the motor and lets the run windings stay energized. the pressure switch should have pulled the main power contactor in. you all did a good quick job.
I love to watch your work mate I am also a RC DRILLER and I have learned a lot from you keep on doing the great work thanks ❤

love this video. i am shocked that it mad water at all with 3 holes in it.
I work with water treatment in TN and I loved this. We don’t pull or do well work but I enjoyed the video, great work. Liked and subbed!
Forgot an estimate! Uhm. Total should be around 10k, maybe a but more. Pump was probably 3-5k, pulling and replumbing the pipe and wiring another 5, then the switch and labor which is probably a smeller flat cost. 14k would be upper estimate.
The contactor was pulled in by the Pressure switch directly the white relay is called a potential start relay as the voltage rises during start it switches from the black(Start) capacitor to the Silver(Run) capacitor .
Yes and the starter has a coil in it that closes the contacts.
It is scary that this is a "professional" and he does not know what that control contains!
actually in that relay the contacts are closed by a spring and opened by the coil when the voltage between the start and the comem rises above the line voltage@@drob5664
Actually in that relay the contacts are closed by a spring and opened by the solenoid coil when the voltage between the common and the start winding rises above the line voltage. This disconnects the the black start capacitor from the motor the silver run capacitor is always connected.
Yea im not an expert on 3 wire systems, I run across 1 a year. It's one of may things I wish I understood to the level of a 2 wire system. But I can slowly troubleshoot my way through one if needed.
Your talking about that galvanized switch pipe...I recall my Grandparents every few years had to take it apart and drill out the middle to unclog it periodically so the switch wouldn't stick on/off. My Grandfather had rigged up a clock and power lights so he could tell how long it was running and measure when it was "probably" having issues clogging.
Great video, thanks. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Living in the UK even if you live in rural areas 95% of places will have mains water, some places will have pumps to increase the pressure but it will be mains, it's interesting to see the difference over in the US. Like your films very informative and very interesting. 👍
great work 5 g
I youst to work for well pluning companey i loved it
I dig the cleetus shirt brother 👍
I've been subscribed for 1yr 👍👌✌️💪🇺🇸
Great videos and quality well work. You might consider reading up on the start components for single phase motors. There are two capacitors that have two purposes. It's important to know when trouble shooting a problem motor
you would have loved the WELL on the homested i grew up on just north of Phoenix AZ We had water at 27 feet the pump was set at 40 feet and well was only 50 feet deep. It was set in a natural underground spring. The water was always ice gold. I could pull the pump and galvanized pipe by hand lol.
you are a smart and nice young man.
I don’t know what it cost but I would of preferred you did the way you wanted, you are the professional 👍🇺🇸
Another job "Well" done!
Love that you're rockin a cleetus shirt
We had a well drilled 4 years ago here in the Piney Woods of East Texas to 680' and the pump was set at 240', Total cost with an 8'x8' concrete slab was $21,000. getting around 18GPM of beautiful, clear, very low iron, fairly soft water. Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer is what we tapped into.
nice, double wire splice and they used a torque arrestor as a shield for the splices. it probably rubbed through there on something in the well, maybe end of casing, or an offset rock/ledge protruding or even the normal lower static water level of drought/season caused buildup. 🤔
That's a potential relay, it puts the start capacitor in line with the start windings in the pump, the pressure switch you disconnected energized the coil in the contactor.
Thanks for explaining this to me and not criticizing me on it. I'm not a 3 wire expert, just know the basics (somewhat) but glad I can learn from comments like this !
I’m guessing around $4600 I would have guessed lower but I looked up pump prices, I had no idea they were that high.
The white plastic box is a relay that drops the black capacitor out after the motor starts. N/C contacts. If it goes bad the black capacitor will fry.(contacts are welded shut) love your channel buddy 🇺🇸
I enjoy your videos very informative, I just stumbled across your channel the other day and now I'm subscribed. Keep up the good work
Thanks for the support!
ALWAYS give multiple options. I try for at least 4 each time. 👍👍👍👍
I can understand money is tight but when you have so many people relying on something like this cheap out shouldn’t be a problem 😢if I was the owner I’d have you replace pump, wire, pipe out of well and the tanks and then not worry about anything for years but that’s me great job guys thanks for sharing hope you had a great thanksgiving
That pump had to get over 450 degrees to cause it to change the stainless steel color to that shade of purple
I’ve worked on systems for places with 15-20 trailers parks and they all had many more pressure tanks than just two.
My estimate is 6,450.00 for new pump, wire, pipe, press switch, gauge and 4 man crew.
Someone else mentioned the breaker size. It should be downsized to closer match the pump, but it not a big deal. The pump has built in protection from overload, and a short should still trip the breaker.
Breakers are always sized to protect the wire, not the motor. Motor protection comes from a motor starter, in this case the motor starter is in the pump. The original wire was 12 gauge on a 20 amp breaker, the new wire is 10 gauge so a 20 amp breaker still protects the wire. The increased wire gauge is to reduce voltage drop although not really needed because the new pump has less than half the current draw of old pump due to less HP and soft start.
@@AllenCavedo And I said this: "but it not a big deal. The pump has built in protection from overload, and a short should still trip the breaker." I am well aware of what the breaker is for, I have been a licensed electrician for 40 years. " It should be downsized to closer match the pump," but that is only a recommendation. Better to have a breaker trip than have the motor's overload (which is deep in the well) constantly cycling.
And you are wrong about the breaker size in this video, it is a 30 amp breaker (pause the video at 1:45 ) on #12 which is NOT the right size for the old install (which is probably why the old control box or wire started the fire as seen by the damage in the video). The NEW install on #10 wire is ok with that 30amp breaker, so it would be Code compliant as it is now, but was NOT compliant with the old installation.
@@mxslick50 All good info. Thx.
Lmfao you people are thieves 😮
Here in my area that would have been about $2,300-$2,700. It would have taken me about 4-5 hours by myself. I would have used sch 80 threaded PVC though and a regular pressure switch.
I like that old pipe clamp. I've never seen one of those.
I like a Ridgid yoke vise myself, but that pipe dog is neat.
Great videos! It's funny to see how things are done in a place where a little fiberglass insulation (and a heat lamp if you want to start a fire) is enough to prevent a freeze. It actually took me a couple videos to realize why all the wells you work on look so weird.... Not a single pitless adaptor in sight!
I run across a few, im right on the line bc it never gets terribly cold here, but 1 hour north & everything swaps to pitless adapters. Plus or regulations require a water test port directly at the well head within 1ft of exiting the well seal.
@@h2omechanic I just saw another one of your videos, you pointed out how when the well fills it pushes the 50 degree air out the top into the fake rock "igloo." Cool! (or warm!)

I like to install deep set 120 sch pvc pipe ss coupler. Or cirtalock pvc pipe about 90percent off the time. Two slice kit and torque arrester sounds like a shelf or lip in the casing.
Great work. You guys make me crazy by not wearing hard hats with overhead work. I see the galv pipe was tight. With two guys, have each guy with one hand on each wrench. That way you truly have double the power on breaking the joint. As far as the pump sizing. I understand that the owner didn't want to spend much money. But with 14 homes X 3-4 fixtures in each unit, you require 1gpm per fixture. Thats why the bigger pump was in the well. Yes I understand that they may not use that much at one time, but that's how you determine pump size. And with a community well like that, no one understands what it takes to maintain a water system. Everyone thinks you just turn on the faucet and you have water until something happens. Then they don't understand how much it's going to cost until they get the bill. I don't know why places like that can't plan ahead for repairs.
My cost guess is $2500. I know where I live it would be north of $4K. Thanks for posting this follow up vid!
Did you factor in profits and paying help? I would guess thrice your guess but honestly I don't really know.
The parts cost would eat up the $2500 in a hurry. Add the labor and I would guess at least double that. My last service in 2009 just to replace a pressure switch and control box was $600.
Great videos. Also, hell ya, brother, I wonder how many other cleetus fans watch your channel.
Hell Yea Brother, you're on the Cleetus McFarland CZcams channel. Nice work brother.
In our area from what I've noticed to have that done just recently to our semi-private well that runs 17 Holmes it cost a little bit over $6,200 which I think was a little high but we did get a grumpus pump a three horsepower let's down about 254 ft our unfortunate problem is we only have room for two pressure tanks in our shed and they're only 80 gallon ones I need to rebuild the shed bins that I am like the waters are here LOL😂
My guess on estimate would be between 6500.00-7200.00,.... labor, pump, poly, wire, pressure switch, general plumbing supplies...
Wow! What does a new well system cost? I have no idea. We live where there's county water supply. Great videos. I just found the channel.
Well pump cost 3,500 I have before old well pump were snap off half well pump only motor pump come out other system pump done in well can’t pull out. Leave old system pump that all it 175 feet down well water
I’m sub boss and always thumbs 👍🏻 up and like nice job
❤ new subscriber here 😊 awesome channal
OK, in the last sixty plus years, I've done a lot of stuff, including some pump and well work. This setup was for a lot of people and really should be done right. Just the liability of providing impure water could be very costly. Landlords can be incredibly cheap, but this guy deserves an award. He really needed to bite the bullet and have you totally revamp the system. How much extra was the bid for the whole works?
I'm not being snarky, I'd actually like to learn. Why would this be any worse than all the homes with galvanized pipes in their homes?
I don't know if I've been in a house with anything other than galvanized in my adult life.
Valid question. If you have ever looked inside galvanized pipe that has been in use for some time, it is generally full of rust and corrosion. This, to the extent that it may significantly reduce water flow. Also, water PH and the chemicals in it may just eat through the pipe requiring expensive repairs. Copper, as a side note, may have been installed with lead/tin solder which is now a no-no. Not saying that PVC and PEX are problem free. Down the road, the EPA may decide they are just as bad. You pays your money and you takes your chances... Hope that this is of some use to you. @@nes999
@nes999. Not trying to be a smart aleck, but we're those houses on well water or city water? Usually water coming from the municipality is treated so galvanized pipes will work. If you saw in the video, he mentioned about galvanized pipes rusting out and causing problems because well water will do that. He also mentioned that there was no water filtration at the pump house so he hoped there was some type of water filtration at each home. I think this video was done very well 😊.
@@williambouchard4480I'm primarily referring to wells, since that is the subject here. My experience is mainly rural properties as there usually is some type of water service in towns.
I am going to guess at $3280. Great job! Always enjoy your videos!!
Hell yah brother, a fellow Cleetus fanboy.
14 Homes on that system? I cannot imagine those homes would have much water pressure at times.
Why not? The pump itself is 15 GPM, more then plenty to keep those tanks filled up. The main question is how many GPM are those able to provide? Are there any booster pumps to keep the pressure up? I can't imagine them replacing the pump from 20 to 15 if it wasn't enough to keep the system up and running.
Anyway, from the tanks forward it's basically a concurrency game.
A faucet takes a maximum of 2 GPM, but most are limited to below 1 GPM. My watersaving showerhead uses just 2 GPM, but even those wasteful overhead rain showers use 4 GPM at most. How many showers and faucets do those households open at exactly the same time? Remember they are not regular wastefull american super condos with multiple rain showers, these are basically shelters with minimalist requirements. Anyway at 15 GPM you would need to have half of the households to take a shower at the same time to notice something.
And if you live in cheap housing like this, you know you will have limited services from time to time. You learn to live with it.
This is awesome. Channels like yours help us home owners make their own repairs without paying you people high ridiculous prices. I love CZcamsrs who save us money 🤑
Somewhere I have video that is halarious. I replaced my personal well pump but wasn’t going to pay the well service. The well service outfits refused to sell me a pump. No Worries! We have the internet and a credit card. Bought a spiffy Sta-Rite pump and had UPS drop it off. I explained to my ex girlfriend how were going to do this. Three a tall strep ladder over the hole and her on top. I used my home made pump dog and threaded the pipes, taped the wires and fed the pipe down. She was freaking out. While I still love her, she just couldn’t deal with hard core rural life.
